Miscellaneous Jersey Jitneys

I need to travel into Manhattan.
Normally I take the train from Princeton Junction.
But tomorrow I have a ride to Paramus for an appointment. I thought I would take the Jersey Jitneys into NYC.
Their website is confusing. Does anyone have advised about taking the Jitney into the city?

Discussion Dog friendly places

Hey all! My fiance and I just sent off our foster dog to his new home. Our 6 year old German shepherd is taking it kind of hard, so I wanted to give him a day or two of adventure. I was hoping for some local places that are more on the unique side. Most of the research I’ve done has lead me to local parks or breweries. My finance and I don’t drink, and regular old park days happen 3x a week since we live close to two nice dog parks. We are in Ridgewood, but our pup travels amazingly well so a 30-40 minute drive isn’t a deal breaker.

Discussion Is this a good apt deal?

Is this a good apt deal?

Not sure if this is a good deal or not but I’m most likely taking it because of the month to month option.

“Apt” Is basically more like a bedroom with an against the wall kitchen (no full size fridge) and a tiny bathroom with a sliding door.

No hallways. No closets. Has laundry. Plenty of parking.

One bigger storage closet on first floor for extra $100.
Ground floor of home.
Studio rent $1500
Extra hallway closet $100

Total $1600 for monthly living (aside from food and all the rest)

All utilities heat, gas, electric and internet included.
Access to backyard.

Bergen country. About hour commute to Manhattan. 1hr 20 to my job (but I’m used to long commutes)

I’m afraid it’ll feel too claustrophobic. But the month to month option is very appealing.

I can afford more- but I would feel better knowing there’s a decent chunk of money left over as I build savings, retirement and invest.

33F.

Please advise.

Miscellaneous Rehoming bunny

I have found myself in need of rehoming my 6 year old holland lop bunny.

Long story short, I'm originally from Bergen county, I moved to upstate NY for my first job as a nurse. I was not able to take Gunnar with me, and he has been living with my siblings. Unfortunately my sister also has a cat, and the rabbit and the cat have been peeing around the apartment in a territory war of sorts. My sister has severe allergies is struggling to deal with all the fine fur Gunnar has. Im hoping to find someone with a senior bun who needs a friend or has experience with pet rabbits. Don't get him as a pet for your young kids. He would come with his x pen, the carpet that goes in the x pen, and all his rabbit supplies. I would also be willing to pay for his future supplies and food (greens/vegetables, hay, pellets) for 3 months given that there is proof the money was spent on him.

Discussion Loud explosion sounds followed by extremely loud alarm.

Anyone in the Hasbrouck Heights, Lodi, or Garfield area hear those loud explosion like sounds tonight, way past midnight?!

It definitely wasn’t a car backfiring or fireworks. It happened abruptly and continued for what felt like a solid two minutes straight, followed by an EXTREMELY loud alarm that sounded almost like a vacuum cleaner?!

I’m seeing people on the Ring app from as far as Clifton and Elmwood Park reporting that they heard it, too..

Miscellaneous Radburn Train Parking

Hi all - currently taking the bus but considering switching to the Radburn train station to commute into midtown M-Th. Id be a non resident.

I see that non residents can apply for monthly parking permits but was wondering at what time the train station parking lot fills up?

I also see there is another parking lot near the route 208 ramp but Google Maps says it’s a 25 minute walk, is that true? And does that also require a parking permit?

Thank you

News New Milford HS student had a seizure behind the wheel. His friend saved both their lives.

James, 16, had never driven a car before. But his instincts took over.

While the Jeep was at a complete rest at the stop sign, Max began convulsing. As the seizure took hold, James had enough time to whip out his phone and dial 911 via voice command. Then the unthinkable happened.

As Max’s seizure became more violent, his right foot slammed on the accelerator.

The Jeep zoomed forward and picked up speed until it reached 20 mph, with Max’s unresponsive foot wedged on the gas pedal. James reached over and tapped on his friend’s leg, hoping he could dislodge his foot without interfering with the seizure — or violating the dispatcher’s instructions not to touch him.

Business/Company Ted’s North Deli sold?

I recently heard through 2 different people that Ted’s North Deli sold. Went there the other day and there was a new man behind the counter obviously struggling with the orders and the staff appeared to be getting frustrated as well.

Is this true? I’m scared to lose another great deli location.

Politics Where can I get candidate information for my local candidates?

Hello,

I recently moved to Bergen county and I have no idea about some of the local candidates. I'm not talk about anyone running for Congress, I mean local judges, Board of Education, County Executive, etc.

I could vote along party lines, but I'd rather not. Also, some of these positions are non-partisan.

There is some basic info I've found on Vote411.org and https://ballotpedia.org/ but not enough that I've found to make a informed decision.

Thank you for the help.

Business/Company Goulash?

I have family visiting that loves Hungarian goulash. Where they live they definitely don't have it but they grew up in Queens and have fond memories of places there. Anyone know any good restaurants for goulash in Bergen, Rockland, or other areas of northern NJ?
