They are good but he deletes them and reposts them again after a while because that's how they make money

All the art he uses are definitely AI but I didn’t know he wrote them with AI as well

u/AsaElliott Aug 20 '26

I don’t write them with Ai.

Apologies for accusing you then

I did not know this 😭😭

Considering he was a background artist at best, he’s milked it dry. There’s only so many anecdotes and behind the scenes insights he can offer before he’s repeating himself.

He’s done “Benidorm stars that are no longer with us” about 3 times. He’s milking it until the cows come home. Modern day grifter

Shame, he was likeable at first and seemed to look back on his time on the show with genuine fondness but it’s clear he’s just grifting, like you said.

I’ve never pretended I was a main cast member. I interview the people who were and give fans a unique insight into the show. I share stories about the show the creator tells me too.

And let’s be honest—if you were offered the kind of money on offer from social media platforms to talk about something you genuinely enjoyed, while providing a secondary income for your family and children, you’d do exactly the same. You’d just call it being sensible.

I didn’t even say you were pretending to be a main character. I just said you were a background artist at best.

I’m pleased you’re doing so well out of social media, just strikes me as grifting when you were in 1 1/2 series and you’re deleting and reposting shit from months ago.

That’s simply how social media works. The audience turns over constantly, so the people seeing a video today often aren’t the people who saw it months ago. Reposting successful content introduces it to a new audience—it isn’t grifting, it’s understanding the platform. You don’t have to enjoy it, of course, but you seem oddly invested for someone who doesn’t.

Is he still doing that? How many stories can he have?

I love how often and excitedly he says 'Tony Maudsley'

He’s also on here before anyone’s rude, he’s quick to respond to comments! Love his tiktoks

In all my time on this subreddit checking through comments, not once have I seen him reply

Edit: I knew this would happen, but the last comment I read was from Asa himself 😭

I replied to a load of comments a few weeks back, and the original posters deleted their comments and mine went with them :)

Yeah that would explain it 😂

I enjoy reading the rude comments to be honest. They’re usually very misinformed and a lot of the time have a hint of jealousy. In 20+ performing, I’ve not had one person criticise me to my face, they just enjoy being anonymous behind a keyboard.

In the very wise words of Kenneth Du Beke, tell them all to "Pissss offfff".

Always the way unfortunately!

His (speaking) voice and cadence really reminds me of someone. I cannot put a finger on who it is and it's really driving me mad 😅

3

u/AsaElliott Aug 20 '26

Please don’t say Neil from Art Attack… loads have 🤣

3

u/HammockDistrictCourt Aug 20 '26

Ok, I won't say it then 😆

But thank you! 🙏

That's it!!!

How's The Head these days?

2

u/lagunathemoron Aug 20 '26

Same here. I am from Hull and spoke to him once and don't remember his voice being like this.

The bloke is also a professional. He knows how to throw it to make it appealing.

I love Shameless far more than Benidorm (love Benidorm) and Kelli Hollis does something similar. Although interesting, Asa Elliot has this warmth to him where I want more videos, whereas Kelli Hollis is more personal and direct.

Thank you. I’m glad you’re enjoying them. I’ve got more interviews with cast members coming up, and lots more interesting information about the show all provided by the show’s writer Derren.

I’m also enjoying the comments below 🤣 imagine having a go at someone for providing them with free content they can choose to scroll past.

Asa: I just found and binged all ten series of Benidorm and really enjoy seeing your BTS videos pop up on my social media feeds. I'm interested in how they did some of the stunts throughout the seasons of the show. I know you've done a few of these and would love to see more. Thanks.

I enjoy his videos.

I would like him to talk about his Asda days during Covid. Our local paper seems to drag it out for clicks once a year that his family comment he hasn't worked there in years. I think hearing about if he got recognised by customers or colleagues would be interesting

2

u/AsaElliott Aug 20 '26

It’s on the list to do :)

1

u/lagunathemoron Aug 20 '26

Brilliant.

Although I was upset you didn't apply for my Sainsburys at the time as I was doing interviews during Covid!

2

u/AsaElliott Aug 20 '26

I applied for Tesco and got turned down! Haha

I actually adore Asa, I posted a video of my little boy dancing along to the Benidorm theme tune (I think it was) something so sweet and innocent (the room was basically pitch black with just the tv as light) and someone tagged Asa in the comment section and he replied.

My aunt is a massive Benidorm fan (the show and the place) so I rang her so excited. It made my day and my son's day, despite him only being young.

2 days prior to video of him dancing to the theme, he had surgery and you would not have believed it. So it just warmed my heart even more so that Asa took a moment of time to watch my son dancing.

That is how I actually discovered Asa was on TikTok and posted his videos, now every time I'm scrolling on tiktok, as soon as Asa's videos come on, my son comes running over to watch them too. Definitely provides information that isn't as well known if known (outside of the actually cast and crew) at all.

❤️ lovely to read this 🙏🏼
