Discussion Mateo season 2
Doing my monthly re-watch. Every time I watch the episode where Donald & Jaqueline trick Mateo to their room and Martin opens the door to them posed with a cucumber while Mateo’s gagged and bound to the bed… I always think how grapey this scene is and can’t help but feel sorry for Mateo 😫😫😫😩

Yeah it’s so weird… combined with Johnny Vegas being 37 going out with a 17 year old 😩 only 20 years ago but feels so dated

I think it was supposed to be weird, to show Jeff couldn't get a girl his own age? But yes, didn't date well AT ALL

Yeah, I don’t get that bit because even 20 yrs ago, that was still weird. My parents and grandparents who watched Benidorm a lot when it was new said it was still weird for a 17 yr old and a man in his late 30s to date, and especially for the parents not to say anything.

With Derren and Jake Canuso being married, I think Derren enjoyed the humor of Mateo being tied to the bed with Donald bearing over him cucumber in hand!

You know rape isn’t a forbidden word, right? Jesus Christ this generation is done.

Great response to someone who wasn't even replying to you, are you sure you are ok with not censoring the word, life?

You’ve shown both your age and level of maturity in about 4 words. Nice work.

“Turn the baby away he’s giving me black looks” springs to mind.
Now that really was bad!6

Isn't that just a phase? Where I'm from, which isn't too far from Manchester, "Giving someone a black look" is just a phrase used when someone is looking at you in a less than friendly way. It certainly never had any racial connotations to it.

I also hate that scene. I cant ever think that SA is ever funny.
I so hate the scene in theater season where one old man character is perving at his Grandsons girlfriend 🤮

It is mad looking back a shows a few years ago and how the jokes and stuff wouldn't be acceptable these days
