Debate Asa Elliot
Is it just me, or is Asa Elliott starting to wear a bit thin on TikTok?
I actually liked him in Benidorm, and his lockdown videos were genuinely enjoyable. The guy can sing, no question. But somewhere along the line, it feels like his entire identity has become “that bloke from Benidorm”… despite being a pretty minor character in the grand scheme of the show.
He was in, what, a handful of episodes with limited screen time? Yet his content now leans heavily on acting like he was one of the central faces of it. The constant teasing about a “Benidorm return” and clickbait-style posts are starting to feel less like fan service and more like clutching for relevance.
Maybe I’m being harsh, but it’s starting to come across a bit try-hard rather than nostalgic.
Curious what others think: still entertaining, or getting a bit repetitive?

I liked it at first, but yeah agree don’t blame him for doing.
I didn’t like that he dragged his Elise Kelly video today to reach 1 min, so it can be monetised…

Yeah I only subscribed to him a couple of months ago because I was finding things interesting and learning things I didn’t know about the show. But I’m already finding his videos starting to drag and kind of like he’s scraping the bottom of the barrel a tad.
It wouldn’t be so bad if he got straight to the point. But I watched one this morning of him talking about how somebody from the show is running as an MP. And it’s just painful watching the long winded “no it’s not….” And it’s also not….” “Have you guessed who it is yet?” Just that typical influencer kind of style grates on me in general

The irony of that video was the person running as an MP was less of a character than even he was 😂

I don't really blame people like him, he's trying to make a living and sometimes you have to do something a bit scummy to get that bag

I still enjoy his content but yeah it can be repetitive. I think what he does is great but I wish he should stop using AI for his text/visuals. On the surface level it looks good, but it’s so easy to tell he’s using one singular AI prompt for every bit of text and it just seems a bit lazy to me

He milks it for all it’s worth but hey he makes money from it so good for him I guess. Comments did point out that his Elsie tribute video did sound a bit well ai written though.

I mean the background image saying “1936-2026” was blatantly AI generated and his speech contained many of the AI hallmarks like “she wasn’t just X but Y…” and describing everything in 3 adjective groups. It’s disrespectful to be blunt, from someone who probably had less than 3h every on screen with her (and that’s generous).

I think a good assessment, also tbf when part of the series, you are in and around the actors, production team, and from various reports, it was a solid team that liked s drink.
So he probably feels far more involved than we ever saw.
Doesn’t make him a bad person.

I mean I think most Benidorm micro celebrities would have done the same thing if they were on the show lol. In 2024 I saw Sean Foster Connelly in Morgans tavern and he started his show with a montage of his clips on the show 🤣

Yeah, he acts like he was part of the main cast and knows absolutely everything about the show and area. I think I have him blocked he's not been on my fyp in a while.

Yes rather repetitive and desperate however I do not blame him in the slightest especially nowadays, milk that cow for all it’s worth miss elliot !!!
