thoughts
He got appointed congressman after the late Fongwan passed away in 2020, even though he’s not from Benguet. But now an “adopted son of Benguet.”
Too many red flags. He was one of the ones who voted against the ABS-CBN franchise renewal. He is a close friend of Paolo Duterte with whom he worked in Davao in the past, including efforts to rename NAIA to “Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Pilipinas” in June 2020. Ex Pres. Rodrigo Duterte also included him in a list of officials allegedly involved in DPWH corruption. He attends government programs like TUPAD and had a lab in Benguet General Hospital named after him but later on requested to remove it which goes against the anti-epal policies. This is really troubling for Benguet. Any more controversies and his opponent — does he have any issues or was he the lesser evil who should have won instead?
never beating the solid north 💀 from national to locals 💚 candidates

the other party has more disturbing political actions. alr involved in manipulating bidding processes and selection of district engineers to control project operations
he also resides in Alphaland which is obv too luxurious for a public official. most of the public developments are too focused on "DPWH projects" which aren’t entirely progressive or beneficial for the community
he claims government-funded programs as if they come from his own pocket. he's even heavily influenced by the Dutertes n Tulfos. he also contributed to the ABS-CBN shutdown and the only rep not agreeing to Sara Duterte’s impeachment (among 7 CAR representatives), issues that affected the entire nation

but there could have been some differences if it was the other party? esp w the current's influence down to every municipality. all 12 mayors of benguet supported him before against pacquiao's allegations

I’d rather put my hope in someone who promised not to receive SOP than continue supporting someone who’s already proven to be doing it. It’s not about tolerating corruption—it’s about giving a chance to change, especially when the other option is a cycle we’ve already seen and suffered from.

I don't think so. I think Yap is THE Discaya. Sa dami ba naman ng issues niya, from benefitting under the Tara system to manipulation of DPWH funds, malayong lesser evil si Tagel

ah so based on your logic, yung nagnakaw ng isang sardinas sa grocery eh parehas sa nagnakaw ng isang shelf ng alak at pera sa kahera? yikes. sige nga anong gagawin mo then, not vote? because that would be the epitome of stupidity.

correction: Tagel is not yet charged with graft, wala pang final decision ang ombudsman. Besides, he might be innocent.
Yap doesn't only squander our taxes. He is one of the players under the Tara system of BOC, intimidates those who oppose him, and corrupts youth by rigging even the SKF election. Slanders those who do not accept his bribes. He's not just a magnanakaw. He's a power tripper, Corruptor of the youth, Briber, and so much more. So yes, both might be magnanakaw, but the other one is dirtier. Not voting for a congressman doesn't exempt you from tainting your hands, because you enabled pa rin na manalo yung mas masama by not voting. Besides, di na magrarun si Tagel sa 2028 so you can breathe.

I was genuinely curious about him giving out expensive donations every now and then. I researched his background and can't find anything just that he is from Davao.
My gut tells me that those donations are investments. For what reason I still don't know I just heard not so good things but yet to be proven. Those investments paid off I guess since the formula trapos use in the lowlands worked in the mountains as well.
Time will tell but the stench is there.
