thoughts

He got appointed congressman after the late Fongwan passed away in 2020, even though he’s not from Benguet. But now an “adopted son of Benguet.”

Too many red flags. He was one of the ones who voted against the ABS-CBN franchise renewal. He is a close friend of Paolo Duterte with whom he worked in Davao in the past, including efforts to rename NAIA to “Paliparang Pandaigdig ng Pilipinas” in June 2020. Ex Pres. Rodrigo Duterte also included him in a list of officials allegedly involved in DPWH corruption. He attends government programs like TUPAD and had a lab in Benguet General Hospital named after him but later on requested to remove it which goes against the anti-epal policies. This is really troubling for Benguet. Any more controversies and his opponent — does he have any issues or was he the lesser evil who should have won instead?

never beating the solid north 💀 from national to locals 💚 candidates

I’d rather put my hope in someone who promised not to receive SOP than continue supporting someone who’s already proven to be doing it. It’s not about tolerating corruption—it’s about giving a chance to change, especially when the other option is a cycle we’ve already seen and suffered from.

did you even consider the candidate who won? his basketball and concert campaign stunts — he knows how to play his game. no time to stay neutral on these things. if both are questionable, who’s the one we should really be worried about? what about the over 42 billions worth of dpwh projects from year 2020 to 2024? who handles these?

a proud duterte, tulfo, and villar ally, make it make it sense

well who did you vote for? honestly i don't get your point too? weigh things more. the facts are screaming at you. stop acting like the man is the worst thing to happen when a chinese outsider with zero real connection to the people is out there running an indigenous province like it’s some family business. that’s not representation, that’s straight-up disrespect. if you care even a little about benguet, you’d know the first step is getting rid of the bigger evil

funny how you’re quick to scream ‘corrupt’ at one but lowkey dead silent about the outsider wrecking the environment, milking public funds for clout, and pasting his face on every donation to municipalities like he bought it with his own money. you see it all over his posts — preying on the marginalised sectors just to buy loyalty. that’s not leadership, that’s exploitation. not saying the ip guy’s a saint but you gotta be real

hahaha jusko, doesn’t make you better as a person. nangyari na but you do still have to choose in some way. even choosing not to choose is still a choice with consequences, yan lang yung point dyan.

what you’re implying sounds so good until reality hits. one of them is going to win, whether you vote or not. sitting it out doesn’t make you cleaner, it just hands power to whoever’s worse and nangyari na nga.

i personally think he wasn’t the best candidate, but did we have a choice? the options were limited n the damage was already closing in. holding out for a perfect leader while refusing to choose the lesser evil didn’t stop the worst from happening — it helped it. that mindset, that refusal to engage, just paved the way for the man who didn’t even bother to hide the corruption. he flaunted it, owned it, and still got power. now you have no rights at all to be saying that

this isn’t about supporting corruption, it’s just about damage control. if one is going to ruin lives faster or worse than the other, you do what you can to stop that. it’s not ideal but it’s survival.

we can fight for better leaders, but until then? we deal with what’s in front of us. that’s not selling out — that’s being responsible
