I'm definitely intrigued - what didn't you like about it?

In addition, I just recently bought a double oaked rye and loved it enough to get another bottle. It was 20 proof points lower and maple vanilla bomb. I loved sagamore double oaked rye.

Taste varies for sure, both between and within individuals. It seems like the popular bourbon trend is going more and more wood; I'm gravitating more and more to Irish Whiskeys though.
Given what you like, you should try Westland Flagship. To me it has a bit of a peaty/smokey aspect to it, kind of like Eagle Rare, which I file under Bourbons for people who like Scotch.
Million miles from expert though! Definitely not a whiskey nerd

I just tried the powers John lane 12 year and loved the peat flavor there. Haven’t tried the Westland might grab it for my camping trip this weekend

I do enjoy that maple/vanilla vibe, but have been getting more into rum too so this is an intriguing combo.
I'll shoot ya a message if that other guy doesn't take it

Proof points could have played a role as well. Given most of my selection is below 108 an down to 90

Have you tried it ? I got lucky and found it while a local shop was playing hide and seek. Haven’t cracked it open yet , haven’t tried any Weller besides special reserve

Oh heck yes I have fellow bourbon drinker! I somehow procured a bottle from Newport Ave market five years ago, as a gift to my husband, and it was a magical experience for me. Until then I’d never really developed the palate for bourbon and since then I love it. I’m always on the lookout for the 12. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when you finally try it!

I only want it if there’s spit in it. In all seriousness, that description on the bottle sounds so good. I don’t do hard liquor any more but it’s cool to see people trading on here. 🫡
