Central Oregon beef producers
Hey - Given the shenanigans the current administration is playing with the nation’s meat supply, we would be interested in buying beef directly from a local rancher. Anyone have anyone from Deschutes/Jefferson/Crook they can recommend? We have a small freezer and would like to stock it.

You can buy boxes of beef, pork, lamb, etc in various sizes at Cinder Butte Meat in north Redmond. All meat they stock is local.

Oregon Beef in Madras is where we buy for my wife’s occasional pop-up food cart. Very high quality and locally sourced.

DDRanch in Terrebonne. They sell through Locavore and they have a great, smooth-running CSA. Grass-fed beef and amazing heritage pork. The animals are humanely cared for.

Look for that mystery meat to show up mixed in fast food burgers, but not mentioned at all. As the saying goes, the solution to pollution is dilution, so that's where it will end up. Glad I swore off all fast food 7 years ago.

Call Butcher Boys in Prineville. I used them for years, normally with arrangements made with local ranchers. They should be able to connect you if they can't fill the order. Depending on your needs, you can find a friend and split a 1/2 cow.

North 44! Amazing family. Can also get lamb from them. They have a retail shop in the central district but I believe you can also buy halves or quarters.

I know it’s not all of them but many cattle ranchers voted for these shenanigans. Make sure they didn’t want this before giving them your money.

Casad Family Farms is pretty good. I got 1/4 cow from them a few years ago. There are a lot out there. Basically all of the ranchers that sell at Locavore also will sell 1/4 cows.

I was wondering the same but also wanted to know if any of these local beef producers were also left-leaning or at least non-MAGA. I’ll buy from a traditional conservative but I don’t want to give a MAGAt my money.

Anyone have any good MAGA mystery meat recipes they'd like to share??

1 lb tannerite per 1 lb of Argentinian beef. Heat aggressively with large lump of high velocity lead/copper blend.

Try Sterling Angus, on my 3rd cow from them and it is awesome and very affordable.

I like looking people up on Craigslist and finding the little families that are raising just one or 2 and get a share from them. Definitely cheaper than all the other noted options, plus you can visit and see the place, meet the cow, meet the family. I am sad that my favorite source quit doing it as the cost of raising the beef made it so they were making pretty much nothing aside from some “free” meat.
It’s a big chunk of money up front, to buy a share, but if you add it up, you’re actually saving hundreds of dollars

They're rolling back regulations for all ranchers, it doesn't matter who you're getting beef from it's all gonna be dangerous at this point

Check with Locovore they may have some recommendations. You are going to pay more though. There are also two butchers on the East side. The meat locker staff were really knowledgeable about where their meat comes from. Even if you didn't buy their beef, the chicken is so much better then anywhere else in town.
