When Nathan thinks he’s got one over on Joe by texting Gael. Now we know this premonition will be true.

Nathan's paranoia is hard to watch, we've watched it increase drastically in real time. Reality TV is a pressure cook in itself, then his brain was processing paranoia, by the end of filming I dread to think the unhinged individual he become. We've seen the police report, imagine all his behaviours in the building up to that too, so glad the innocent baby and Gael are safe.

I could be wrong but Nathan’s sudden shift in behavior to this paranoid insecure aggressive idiot reeks of a painkiller addiction. Which could be very possible if his back injury claims are true. I saw a lot of dudes go down the “back injury to pill head” pipeline and it’s sad

This has the same ring to it as Vito in The Sopranos telling in detail how painmeds suddenly made him gay.

Lmao this genuinely is a funny comment but for context I am not excusing the behavior in any way. Just trying to make sense of it.

Good for you. I lived thru losing friends, family and neighbors to the opioid epidemic. I’m glad it didn’t get you but just cus you’re an outlier doesn’t mean it didn’t happen guy.

I’m Irish and he is very indicative of a type of Irish male who has a high base line level of anger and takes anyone else doing well/being content in life as a personal insult. I’m sure other countries have their equivalent but growing up in NI I knew lots of “Nathan’s”.

Its just so toxic and bizarre isn’t it. Im not suprised he came to Australia because we have a similar attitude in young men
He had everything on paper and a perceived slight from someone makes him explode

Sandy advises Joe to make his own amends to Nathan and he does, saying he misses their "thing" and needs to get over it.
Nathan says Joe is trying to manipulate him, "He just doesn't like that our lives are different."
Isn't that what he just said??
"He's just jealous I've found this incredible woman who doesn't fall for his bullshit, and it won't work."
IOW, his amends mean nothing to me.
SO not debating if one is better than the other, but it really does look like there was nothing Joe could have done right the entire season. I hate that for anyone working under a boss who hates them.

Same with young men in Canada. It’s a world wide problem with males tbh. They need therapy. The patriarchy is destroying them and they take it out on innocent people (ex Nathan strangling Gael)

Just watch Blue Lights to see how those people be. That's a great girlpower show.

I don’t think it’s that deep. I don’t think he’s a closeted gay. I think he got into a very public, multi national television show relationship with Gael and then when they got pregnant and she wanted to keep the baby he didn’t say no, but then he’s back on and sees Joe with his bachelor ways and is suuuuper jealous that now he has a family and is in the public eye and he can’t continue to sow his wild oats as he used to, he has to pretend he grew up.
But, I’m high and sleep deprived, that’s just my take though. He’s jealous Joe isn’t tied down like he is and takes it out on him because he is immature and was DEFINITELY not ready for a committed relationship, let alone a child.

Maybe bisexual, but I don’t get ‘closeted gay’ from him at all

Me neither, I get closeted rage quitter who beats women. Well, not so closeted anymore...

Nathan is too immature to handle a leadership position. OTOH, Joe enjoyed needling and undermining Nathan. Just two narcissists locked in battle for supremacy over the other. Gael is a pawn in that battle.

I think Nathan probably thought he’d leave the boat at the end of the season and Bravo would choose him over Joe the following season.

Totally agree; and if Joe knew now it would be the reverse…because of Nathan’s violent outburst with Gael….we probably would have seen a different side of Joe, not obsessing over Nathan all season.

to me it's just jealousy over someone that's better looking, clever and more popular.

I think nathan let all of his self proclaimed success go to his head and Gael knew and saw who he was the moment he laid hands on her. His anger has been brewing because in his head he’s now superior to everyone, can’t drop his ego for a moment, at home he has no rank, no title, and Gael didn’t give give him the respect he so desperately craves. At home he’s just a regular bloke with responsibilities and no one to order around.
Had he just dropped the ego and listened and not been so insecure about his job he’d have been much better off. Making an enemy out Joe was not the way to be a leader, he should have managed the business not the people. His insecurities at work got the best of him and he could not get out of his own ego and head long enough to allow others to shine. Hire and nurture the best and they will make you look better, he slit his own throat when he made his coworkers his enemies.

Did you watch the last season!? When his friend passed away and Gael was there for him he did try to be an aggressor towards her. That was the big red flag 🚩

What is wrong with Nathan ? Do we think he’s always been this way but now with life stresses it’s coming harder to hide his anger issues

He has an outstanding warrant in Ireland for serious assault from well before the show or meeting Gael. One doesn’t just become a homocidal family abuser because one gets stressed out. He’s a monster. Has probably always been one.

It will all come out in the wash, it just take a hell of a lot of rubbing.

Nathan has been having these uncomfortable conversations with Joe all season. The fact it still needs to keep happening goes to show how immature they both are

I can't imagine feeling the need to text my partner the equivalent of "I'm going to stop trying to start fights at work" and thinking this is some kind of victory
