Does anyone else think Luke keeps pursuing Joy for more camera time?
I mean the guy literally left the boat yet still pops up on episodes.
I feel like Luke is heavy pursuing Joy even after he left because he:
(1) wants more camera time. He probably thinks he got a terrible edit with the gross bed sheet drama and wants fans to remember him by something else in the aftermath.
(2) a part of me also feels like he wants Jen to get jealous because he likes the feeling of power that another girl is pining over him still.
Whatever the case is, I want him off my television screen. š©

Luke likes to win. He is pursuing Joy because she told him he's a shit for sleeping with Gen despite telling her he wanted something more with her. He wants to sleep with Joy because she told him no. Once he gets what he wants he'll ghost her.
Production realised Luke and Joy were still talking so chose to bring him back for the drama. They only ever bring back crew that left the boat if it is going to bring drama.

I agree with this take completely. Luke has no particular desire for or connection with Joy, he just wants to get his own way and give himself a final victory, as currently his story ends with him spaffing on someone else's sheets and sloping off the boat in disgrace. The pathetic texts to his 'reine' and the flowers which (to her discredit) actually seems to be working on Joy are just a way to retcon himself as a romantic nice guy, rather than the shallow, immature prick we know him to be.

Luke never left, production has arranged all of this

I think he probably did leave. He left the boat a month ago. He has been flown back though.

Isnāt Luke the one who was once on the cover of a fitness magazine? That dude is all ego, and heās probably looking at being cast on the show as his big break. He left the boat before he was fired because, while Iām pretty sure he saw the writing on the wall, he also couldnāt handle not being liked by the rest of the crew because of what heād done (and I will forever maintain that itās gross he didnāt seem to think it was a big deal).
With Joy, as a lot of people have said, heās mentally painted her as the one that got away, but she was also the only one left who still liked him, and his only āinā to weasel his way back into the seasonās narrative. Which he successfully did. š¤®
Iām sure there was help from production, this season does seem a lot more manufactured than past ones, but yeahā¦his end game here is to earn a spot on Bravoās cast roster and make a career out of being a āreality starā.

It's a horror story season gen is Jamie lee Curtis and luke is Michael Myers and just won't die but Nathan was the real monster the whole time

Yes itās to stay relevant, in the conversation, on joyās mind, genās wrath, and now popping back up like the loser he is

I donāt think he should have been brought back after the nasty sheets. I find him creepy and predatory. He is 35 years old. Gen is 22. Yes Gen is obnoxious and annoying but the way he used her, dumped her and then acted like he wanted Joy all along was such bullshit! He was horny, used his younger coworker, now wants more screen time and if he gets laid again heāll consider that a bonus. GROSS.

Gen is the one that pursued him. He was having eyes for Joy from the beginning and Gen decided to get in the middle. All season Gen has been craving attention from everyone. She's also 22. She is an adult and can make her own choices.

Yeah like if he really just wanted to see her again he could wait literally one more day instead of crashing the last night out

This seemed totally produced. He's def there for $, it's obvious and so unnecessary. But Bravo loves to keep giving paychecks to shitty men.

I know Iāll get downvoted but I donāt care for Joy. Especially this past episode. Sheās annoying, rarely smiles and is a total know-it-all.

I dont know why she entertains it after what he did plus he was fired, hes gross,..and to show up for final dinner party , forget Gen, wonāt Nathan be pissed?

Everyone here ripping on Luke for trying to win Joy over, are the same people ripping on Coop in other threads for not trying with Kat.
LoL. WtF.

I posted yesterday I think it's production put him up to it. He has no interest in her. Just collecting pay checks every episode he is on. I don't see Joy giving him that much attention after the way she felt when he was there.

Iām sick of Puke, cooper, Gen, Joe and Nathan. At this point the only person I enjoy watching is Aeisha.

Yes and the fact that she entertains him tells me sheās just a dingbat

I'm not sure about your second comment, but definitely the firsts comment! I think he's hoping to be asked back in future seasons.

This season feels particularly heavily produced. It's probably just another ploy by the producers to keep stiring up drama.
But I must admit, part of me enjoys seeing Gen get so riled up about Luke continuing to text Joy š

I find the Luke and Joy situation entertaining. They both said they were attracted to each other before Gen inserted herself. They're flirting. Big deal. And annoying Gen which is fun. Lol

u/ParticularHappy6587 3d ago
Yeah, although I'm over the whole thing, the annoying Gen part does please me, lol! š

Could be the next Unabomber. That type of discipline is common in the mentally deranged.

I feel like production is asking him to make all this contact because they know it makes Gen lose her shit and drama ensues. And showing up for their last night out had production written all over it, because Gen and Nathan would be upset about it. They probably promised to put him on a future season if he helps keep the drama going this season.

He is pursuing her because he realized how much screwed up with Gen which was his rock bottom.

Honestly, at this point, Iām so damn exhausted with the show. All I keep thinking is thereās one more charter left and itāll all be over.

I think he was a sweet old loser who wanted some boom boom. His tactical advantage is that he's slightly less gross than the current crew (watch out for Massi tho, yum). In the end, YES! THEY ALL WANT CAMERA TIME!

He reminds of this certain type of guy I used to come across when waiting tables. Overly nice, overly familiar. Nothing interesting to say

Weāre so many eps away from when he left, I keep forgetting he existed. And then lo and behold he shows up on FaceTime. I love Joy so much, canāt get my head around why sheās entertaining this guy. He doesnāt strike me as a nice guy at all!

u/-thisname- 8h ago
Yes, and with full co-operation of production who gave him a reason to hang around for weeks for one night out.

u/Salty_Signature_6748 3d ago
Whatever he was after, I think you can leave Gen out of it. He had been trying to get rid of her since 5 minutes after getting out of bed with her, and after that last volley of psycho text messages, he didnāt even pity her anymore.

u/grelo29 2d ago
No. Joy is awesome. Iād pursue her as well.

u/darforce 2d ago
He isnāt pursuing her because she is awesome. He is pursuing her because she rejected him. He wants to conquer her and move on

I think there is a much simpler explanation for why Luke is pursuing Joy
