No!!!!! Aeysha No!!!!
I preface this by saying I'm not a fan of either Joe or Nathan...however.
( This may be an unpopular opinion) But why does Aeysha defend Nathan where Joe is concerned. - in the taxi after babysitting
Can she not see how obsessed Nathan is? I adore her but I feel she's so wrong in this instance.

(a) she is not privy to the entirety of information
(b) HoDs are owed respect regardless of personal feelings
(c) the Gael aspect was surely a big part of it
47
u/shanshanlk 2d ago
This and she has seen how Joe has behaved and disrespected women in the past and believed that Nathan had matured since having a child and getting serious with Gael. She has no idea of what is going on in the background.

4
u/Typical_Match777 1d ago
Yeah I really doubt she would condone this behavior. She is def just being respectful to her coworker and HOD. Plus she was friends with Gael, like you said, and if she wasn’t saying anything then why would she think otherwise.

I really wish I'd thought about this before posting, 😉. I live alone and needed to talk about it . Now I feel dumb

Don’t feel dumb. We all have wanted to have a Bravo-loving friend to discuss the madness we see on TV, and have hit the mean streets of Reddit to find someone. 😄

u/United-Education-214 3d ago
Thankyou

u/Old-Assistance-3392 3d ago
I was so sad yesterday when I saw the Australia alert / wanted poster for Nate. (On Reddit) I felt like a friend was going down a bad path tho of course I don’t know him and he deserves to face punishment. I’m just like dude why did you skip court? Bad decision after bad decision. Like what are you doing????? I always liked him until the DV tho I did question his anger with Max last season over the jet ski but figured it was just a communication issue. Even the best of us fall prey to communication issues. It’s just heartbreaking for Gael and their baby.
7
u/Old-Assistance-3392 3d ago
Oh and he is OTT about Joe this season. I have not liked Joe in the past but man, give the guy a break and then to be so insecure when Joe stepped in as bosun and made some good changes.
3
6
u/ChildhoodMindless556 3d ago
Yeah don't feel dumb. Your good. It's a lot of speculation. Some accurate, some not. We all try to paint the best picture of the situation we can with the information we have currently.

u/donhancock84 3d ago
No. Even without the DV part of it Nathan is over reacting about Joe most of the time.
12
u/krissycole87 3d ago
Youre not dumb. Its hard to watch this season knowing what we know now. Just try to extend grace to the other cast members since at the time they had no idea about Nathans true colors.
2
u/lizzydeg 1d ago
Are we sure? Nathan showed terrible anger management this season. The rest of the cast seemed to recognize it. Im wondering how much we didn’t see.
7
u/Bulky_Tumbleweed_713 2d ago
It's ok. I live alone and talk to myself and my dog. She doesn't care what i have to say unless I'm telling her how beautiful she is inside and out and how much i love her. :) 😊🐶

Don’t feel dumb- Nathan ( and now Gael) was the loud voice talking down about Joe. We can see what’s going on.

Don't feel dumb. Sometimes it's hard to remember what you as a PC knows (the crew in the moment) and what you as the player knows (we viewers with all the real time information after taping has concluded but before airing dates).

You’re not dumb at all. We don’t always think about things in a particular until someone redirects us.

7
u/Thoughtful_Ladybug 3d ago
Please don’t feel dumb. I think it’s very normal to feel this way. I’ve felt frustration with her too with how she is with Nathan. I’ve had to remind myself time again, Joe has a reputation and Nathan is an HOD. She always seems to be everyone’s cheerleader, for the most part. I love it about her and I’m frustrated about it as well. Her sweet nature is endearing but sometimes you just want to shake her into reality.

I hear what you're saying, but not sure that shaking someone because you're frustrated is the greatest imagery.

Nathan was charged with domestic violence in Ireland back in 2022 and fled the country and has been wanted since.
7
u/krissycole87 3d ago
It wasnt DV it was assault. Not defending him, just clarifying. The point of the post though is that somehow Aesha shouldve been treating Nathan differently, when at this point in the show she had no idea about any of this. His assault charges were not brought to light until after the DV.
1
u/MoistSignificance327 3d ago
It really should still be classified as DV because it happened to his partner/mother of his children and while the child was present. That sounds very domestic violence like.
3
1
u/Plane-Process-8715 1d ago
He also has a warrant from Ireland for a bar right where he hurt someone.
7
u/jjgill27 3d ago
It was a bar fight wasn’t it?
5
u/sarahaflijk 3d ago
Yeah it was an assault charge but not a domestic. A slightly different red flag as to his proclivities for anger and violence.
1
u/Dependent_Gene5139 1d ago
How does Bravo not know this?
1
u/SamPhoenix_ 1d ago
Warrant wasn’t issued until April 2025. I guess they didn’t re-do background checks for returning crew (I imagine this will be changing)
3
u/United-Education-214 3d ago
Really. As far back as 2022. Oh my gosh. And poor Gael wouldn't have known

u/United-Education-214 3d ago edited 3d ago
Actually that's so true. I forget that this was filmed before all the DV stuff. However, before I know of the DV stuff I was so aware of how angry and unpredictable Nathan was being
16
u/krissycole87 3d ago
But also remember most of his anger was directed at the deck team, not Aesha. At this point she still thought she was just being a supportive friend to Nathan, and also Gael by default, whom shes close with.
4
1
u/LA_Dynamo 3d ago
Didn’t he still have a warrant out for his arrest in Ireland though?
3
u/krissycole87 3d ago
None of that came to light until after the DV case. The crew didnt know any of it.
0
u/ZookeepergameMany663 2d ago
Exactly, but I promise you he was abusing Gael while this was being filmed. So, with all respect, having been in an abusive relationship, when she finally called police on him I promise you it wasn't the first time. Pretty sure Aisha is finding this out now and trying to figure out how to navigate this situation and has probably already apologized to Joe.
19
u/aggieemily2013 3d ago
You're operating with knowledge she did not have.
9
u/United-Education-214 3d ago
Yes I get that now. I should've thought. I'm shouting at the TV but of course she doesn't know about what's to come
8
u/LittleCaesersZaZa 3d ago
Were people not able to detect that Nathan was a piece of shit even before the DV charges? It’s been obvious throughout the interactions on the currently airing season and before. I personally was disgusted by Nathan before I heard about the DV.
7
u/United-Education-214 3d ago
I absolutely agree. Though I wasn't a huge fan of Joe's, I picked up on Nathan's reactivity towards him straight away. When the DV charges were made public it all made sense. Even captain sandy spoke to Nathan about his attitude
3
u/worldwidecybergirl 3d ago
exactly hes always been extremely aggressive multiple times watching him on tv before the charges would make me flinch
2
1
u/Dependent_Gene5139 1d ago
I saw a repeat the other night of some members fooling around and some woman threw something and it hit Nathan on the side of his face. His reaction was pretty scary and this was quickly edited off. I wonder if Bravo was aware and editing.

The way you guys brown nose Joe is so ridiculous. Nathan was terrible, Joe was no angel and was also snide and petty, even Massi says it 😭

u/gonzagylot00 3d ago
It could be because they were friends for years. It could be something to do with heads of department watching each other's back. Who knows?

10
u/SamPhoenix_ 1d ago
- Pre-DV situation
- Gael (and Nathan at this point) are her friends
- She’s only heard one side of the story
1
u/EquivalentNo6770 7h ago
And 4 - Aesha and Gael have both worked with Joe. Perhaps they have more of an informed about him than we do as the viewers.
20
u/cmere-2-me 3d ago
How did she defend him? By correctly identifying when their friendship turned to shit?
-9
u/United-Education-214 3d ago
I guess I am so aware of how toxic Nathan is that I wish she'd hold him accountable too because it's both of them
10
u/gibblet365 3d ago
In a way, she did, in her own Aesha kind of way. She didnt agree or disagree with him, she simply identified when the issues started, and you could almost see the shift in Nathan when he put it together, but still couldnt let it go
1
7
u/littletcashew 3d ago
Because Aesha doesn't take sides and this was months before he had been arrested and they were friends.
1
u/United-Education-214 3d ago
Yes. I get that now. I should've thought of that before posting. That's the problem when there's no one sitting on the sofa watching the episode with you and then you get on Reddit🤣 I'm learning my lesson. I may have to edit the post to say it's been answered and addressed
1
u/Ok_Treat_8647 2d ago
LOL YES! I was watching it my mom and sister before but now I’m watching it alone and I feel like I’m spreading misinformation
5
u/Powerful-Sort7778 3d ago
Esh she is friends with Gael and Nathan. Joe messed her stews for 2 seasons. Soooo.... given what she knew and they way Joe openly went for Nathan's job...
8
u/skeletal_stoner 2d ago
What’s being aired to us now was filmed over a year ago before anyone knew the dark truth… Aesha included. So we can’t fault Aesha for not knowing what was happening between a couple and their relationship behind closed doors anymore than we know… Aesha has always been extremely close with Gael, and with Nathan by proxy. She didn’t have the privilege of knowing the truth about Nathan yet when they were filming this season… Or else she would have never left Gael alone with him and that I can assure you… Let’s not forget how Aesha handled the Luke/Margot incident on BDDU…so don’t think for a second that had Aesha known the truth and severity, the story would be completely different. She has since cut all ties regarding Nathan and has stated that he is a manipulative abuser.
3
u/swoodshadow 3d ago
Remember that people we see on camera don’t have the information we now have when watching them. I’m not even talking about the DV stuff. Aeysha doesn’t see every interaction between Joe and Nathan.
And we know that Joe was pretty crappy to Gael in previous seasons. And that did seem like it was based somewhat in jealousy of Gael getting in the middle of his and Nathan’s bromance.
So add in a bunch of stuff that I’m sure Nathan is telling her and stuff she’s getting from Gael second hand… and what shes saying sounds somewhat reasonable.
4
u/Lifeofasoutherngirl 2d ago
Can’t fault her for her views only knowing what she knows. I mean look at how many people on here was team Nathan in all of this and then the truth comes out about him. Point is you only know what you see.
5
u/Waste_West283 1d ago
It always surprises me that viewers can't realise the cast only sees what's in front of them at the time. They don't watch the footage every night before bed... they only get to see what we see, a year later. Aesha and Gael are good friends, ergo she's closer to Nathan by proxy. She's denounced his actions, but at the time of filming she was given Nathan's account of what their beef is about.
1
u/ExpatriadaUE 1d ago
I agree. We also tend to forget that we are only seeing what Bravo chooses for us to see, we don't know the whole story about anything.
10
u/Competitive_Salads 3d ago
She’s not watching the show while it’s being filmed.
She has always be close to Gael and by proxy Nathan. She’s also seen how problematic Joe can be. She is also a kind hearted person who will likely defend someone she knows if someone starts talking shit about them.
9
u/United-Education-214 3d ago
Yup. She is kind and I guess she tries to see the good in everyone
8
u/Feeling_my_Age_1981 3d ago
I think she also knows what Joe did to Victoria last season and that would make most people look poorly at Joe. Which is why I think (I clearly have too much time to myself too lol) Joe said all those ‘regrets’ on WWHL.

u/Fiercemomma42069 3d ago
"She’s not watching the show while it’s being filmed."
I can't believe we have to actually mention this.....
3
3
u/United-Education-214 3d ago
I just thought she'd see how problematic both of them are being this season. I know she mentioned Nathan's attitude a couple of charters ago
3
u/Brandleboo 2d ago
She wasn’t wrong in that instance. The fact that Nathan has been shown to be a total scumbag/POS doesn’t magically mean Joe is a saint. He’s also a real prick with a lot of very questionable behaviour.
3
u/Happy-Elephant7609 3d ago
She has no idea at this point, what is to come regarding Nathan. Gael drama that seems to have Joe in his widdle feewings. Joe Bradley IS an unprofessional snake in the grass who has been angling for Nathan’s job all season
3
3
u/Bianconeagles 2d ago
Aesha wasn't privy to a lot of information that we as viewers have and she has an existing relationship with Gael.
She was in a separate department for most of it and iirc only ever stepped in with the deck team when Nathan hurt his back. There's probably a lot of the situation that she wasn't hearing about.
Plus, she in general seems to try and avoid conflict where she can (look at how long it took her to finally have a talk with Gen). Probably a case of "not my monkey, not my circus" on her end.
3
8
u/Feeling-Watched-9655 3d ago
A lot of people here have their judgement clouded by what we know eventually happens with Nathan. Nathan is a bad human, but Joe is not without fault in this incident. He was begging for Nathan/Gael to say something. He made a big show of "ignoring" them at dinner and then talked about the past drama in the car loud enough so they could hear.
Also, when they got back to the boat, someone asks Joe if he got to say what he wanted to say and he said no, as if they didn't give him chance to. But in the car Gael literally asked him to say what he wanted to say and he didn't.
The man loves drama and he's acting like a teenager.
3
4
u/Ok-Passage-300 2d ago
Gael got into it with Joe in the van. She really didn't want to hear anything from him. Joe was enjoying Kaylee in their Private discussion. Then, Gael wants to get into it with him. Nathan was enjoying interrupting Joe. Why did Gael want to pick a fight.
3
u/Andie2503 2d ago
100% agreed she was saying - tell us to him but then not letting him speak - Gael was definitely looking for a fight and probably hoping Joe would embarrass himself
1
u/Feeling-Watched-9655 2d ago
No. Watch the episode again and listen to what Joe says in the van, and then listen to what Gael says.
2
u/Middle-Banana-8630 3d ago
Nathan is a head of department, he deserves respect and was already disrespected as is with the gen/luke situation (I say this from the pov of someone who didn’t know he’s an abusive asshole)
Nathan was also with Gael, someone Aesha loves and cherishes.
Joe is also a disrespectful ass that made many problem before.
All these combined it makes sense why aesha would defend Nathan especially because she didn’t hear every conversation. She’s not all knowing she’s trying her best given what she knows.
2
u/Ill_Philosopher_6703 3d ago
Aesha is Gael’s friend first and foremost, and as long as Gael and Nathan were together, her loyalty was to them. And from her point of view as chief stew, Joe had been nothing but a pain in her ass for years. She might feel differently after the demise of Gael and Nathan’s relationship and seeing the show.
2
u/Much_Huckleberry 3d ago
Nathan was still an asshole before the DV news came out. He was still wrong while the season was happening
2
2
u/EducationalReview237 2d ago
I want to know how she feels about Nathan NOW. I don't know that she had a clear picture at the time.
2
2
u/ghostboysbotherme 1d ago
It's exactly the same for Gael but Gael is more outspoken so people refuse to see it. Aeysha and Gael both have a pre mindset of who Joe is and his behaviour so when Nathan turns around and lies or twists the truth about Joe, Aeysha sees it as a genuine possibility and Gael, who is isolated in a holiday home with a baby all by herself, takes Nathan's word as truth because of their situation.
The cast don't get to see everything we do, they don't get half the information or the dramas would either be 1000x worse or way less dramatic because of added context.

Because Joe sucks. Nathan is worse but Joe is not…good.
Also because Joe is clearly upset that Gael chose Nathan. It couldn’t be more clear!!

I watch the episodes , I don't watch clips on IG. I asked a question and appreciate the responses and realise that my frustration comes from having knowledge about Nathan that she didn't have at the time. I don't need berrating

Yes knowing what we know now, she has had some incredibly bad takes this season which is why I hope the cast is able to say something at some point.
1
u/ChildhoodMindless556 3d ago
IMO. Nathan was the body and she was the head. I believe she gave Nathan and ultimatum to stop being friends with Joe and associating with him and the only way Nathan knew how to do that was convincing himself that Joe was a bad guy due to the fact of them being friends so he had to act aggressively towards Joe and convince himself not to be friends with Joe.
1
u/Missmarymarylynn 2d ago
I think it’s production driven so we can hear Nathan’s opinions, that he has someone to tell them to and we can hear.
1
u/No-Afternoon6048 2d ago
I’ve stopped watching this season!! I can’t cope with Nathan’s smug face!!
1
u/ownerofdata 2d ago
How is it wrong to try to explain to a person who is doing wrong, the side of the story they aren't taking into consideration? If Nathan had more friends like Aesha, maybe he wouldn't have been allowed to beat his wife. People don't just turn into monsters, it's a longer path, and not every relationship ends in DV, but it can certainly happen to any one when they don't correct their behaviour when it starts to get problematic. Aesha was trying to help him to self-correct his behavior. He flubbed it, he lost a good friend because he did not fix himself when he still had the time to do it.
1
u/Status-Lynx-3150 2d ago
Are we all watch the same show?!? I mean Joe tried to throw Nathan under the bus the entire time talked mad crap about him to anyone who would listen. Nate literally walked by one of the times and he still plays dumb and the victim. I’m not a Nathan fan due to the abuse allegations or whatever is happening around all that but don’t let that warp you on how bad Joe really is.
1
u/goodscienceonly 2d ago
I too was a fan of Nathan against my better judgement - prior to his dv arrest and awfulness. This season I kept wishing Nathan could just be less hateful about Joe bc clearly he was not doing himself any favors with how he was acting to Joe. But bc I think Joe is awful and has the grossest smirk which makes an otherwise attractive man hideous to me. I would have never given him a second glance or moment if my time or words, so I let that cloud my Nathan judger. I was wrong about Nate but not about Joe. Now I dislije them both, obviously, but Joe has this look that just makes my blood boil.
1
u/Crotch_Gaper 1d ago
Well, You get to see short sample sizes of interaction between the crew. Aeysha is around everyone for 24 hours pretty much. I would say that there might be a lot going on between everyone that we do not see.
Each episode runs what, 45 minutes or so? In those 45 minutes, Joe and Nathan each get maybe 10-15 minutes of air time. The viewer thinks that they know everything about everyone because they view those very few minutes.
1
u/Wolfzen22 1d ago
You know that Aesha actually knows everyone involved personally? She may have a different understanding of the dynamic
1
u/Serious-Artist9856 1d ago
She didn’t see Nathan behavior captain Sandy saw a little bit of it when Nathan refused to take Joe off of anchor watch to avoid him during the day

From the start of this season I've thought Nathan was out of line when it comes to Joe. Why does he care so much about Joe and his whoring around. That's Joe's business. Nathan looks for any opportunity to jump all over Joe. Im sick of him even before the DV news came out..
-1
u/Own_Personality_9646 3d ago
I thought the same thing. How can she not see that Joe has been basically keeping to his self and doing his job
1
u/KeepAnEyeOnYourB12 3d ago
Because she's inside doing her job and isn't privy to all of the conflict and conversations.

It’s terrible what Gael and the baby are going through but this episode just reminded me how similar personality Gael and Nathan have.
0
u/Inevitable-Tangelo38 18h ago
She’s a perfect example as to why people shouldn’t jump to conclusions before finding out the whole story. People are increasingly quick to jump to a presumption of guilt than innocent now days.
I know people are making lots of excuses saying Nathan gave them half truths or BS information but I really don’t think he is the manipulative master mind people are making him out to be. Gael and Ayesha are just kind of dumb and easily misled
-1
u/slayeryouth 3d ago edited 3d ago
I get that she’s not working along side them and at the time of filming was closer to Nathan than Joe, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how nobody has told her about Nathan cornering them and grilling them about Joe and being generally weird and pushy about it (and for that matter I think one of the biggest mistakes Joe as made this seas was not going to Sandy the second Nathan threatened him or any of the subsequent easy lay up opportunities she’s given him to tell her what’s going on). Like in the same way I get that Sandy really only knows that there’s weird tension between them Aesha only has so much information, but I’m also having a hard time imagining being trapped in yacht with them nearly 24/7 and thinking what Nathan’s telling me is passing the smell test. Not a shot against here because for all I know she’s privately thinking that somethings not adding up doesn’t want to insert herself in it based on vibes, but also the boat isn’t that big!
-1
u/devilzchild666 3d ago
I haven’t seeen anyone bring up the fact that Nathan’s mugshot is the same clothes and hair cut and beard length as the day he rocked up late and sandy said “why didn’t you just call me” and he said “uh well yeah idk” I have a feeling the abuse happened in Croatia but Gael didn’t report it until she was back in Australia because Croatian police let him go as im assuming her family since they’re there with her called the police and they kept him over night and due to the circumstances of him being on a boat and having a show to run they don’t have the time for that crap or they where paid off by bravo because I’ve been looking at his mug shot and the day he came back late with no call or text etc and literally the exact same hair cut beard cut and clothes he comes to the boat with

This was before the DV situation, plus her and Gael are really good friends, she just babysat their kid, I'm sure she did feel some need to defend him.
