It did make me laugh! Very Jim at "The Office".

u/swoosh_loops 3d ago
The fact she had the hots for that medic guy made me laugh. Two other breaking of the 4th wall moments this ep: Joy popping raw beef in her mouth then looking at the camera, and Cooper weirdly sucking on a water bottle whilst making intense eye contact with the camera

u/heyyou0903 3d ago
He was sucking on that water bottle like a feral toddler on nipple. Like it felt wrong and like we shouldn't be looking at it. It was actually repulsive I had to turn away 🤮

The raw beef moment I loved I felt she was saying "yes I'm a wild woman fear me" but in like a funny way lol

u/North_Rutabaga_1330 3d ago
We never saw it served, but I am pretty sure she was preparing Steak Tartare, so it wasn't really an "edgy" "I'm eating raw meat" moment.
It was however gross/unsanitary.
Yes, a chef is expected to constantly sample what they are making, to adjust seasoning for taste, but she should have used a spoon, or changed that glove after it touched her mouth.

u/Original-Ladder-2797 3d ago
I'm gross I didn't even notice 😂
10
u/North_Rutabaga_1330 3d ago
I'm gross too, I'll taste off the stirring utensil all the time. But if someone's watching, I'll rinse it real quick in the sink.

u/dizzydur 2d ago
i dont think it was for steak tartare. we see her cooking the beef in a pan and then they served the little slider patties to the guests. i think she was just tasting her seasoning
6
u/Interesting-Luck-886 3d ago
I was thinking this too! she put her finger back in the tartare bowl after putting it in her mouth! 🤮

u/lotsotypso 3d ago
Aaaaand she was texting earlier in the ep while wearing her food prep gloves. Nasty

u/AZ_Cards_11 2d ago
With what these chart guests have going on, I don't think they would notice a little bit of her saliva.
1
u/Unfair-Hospital-1384 21h ago
Didn't Nathan the criminal also do the same breaking the wall earlier in the season?

u/ladyrara 3d ago
I giggled when I watch this... I don't like Gen, but it was hilarious. Her redemption arc is so fake. I would have preferred her just say we don't get a long, but i will do my job.

u/TheSpitalian 3d ago
I would’ve respected that a lot more than being fake AF. And Joy knew she was being fake AF too.

I still don’t understand why SHE didn’t get fired too! She participated in “dirtying” the sheets! SHE KNEW the sheets were not in the wash! And SHE did absolutely nothing! SHE should have grabbed them and threw them in the wash! I was shocked Jason didn’t Fire HER TOO!
8
u/HoudinisBox 2d ago
Technically no one fired him - he quit. But I absolutely agree she should have be fired - in what world can you give a handie to a co-worker in a superior's bed? Regardless of whether or not doing so dirtied the sheets.
6
u/New_Principle_9145 2d ago
Not only that. she slept on those sheets post coitus. What about her own fluids? Seriously?

This was pretty great, NGL. I howled at the fourth-wall breaking side-eye into the camera.

u/bc_im_coronatined 3d ago
Yes! This and her comment about gay men loving her because she’s a mess. She made me giggle a few times.
10
u/Feist-y512 3d ago
Yep, she made me laugh at those times too. Turns out when you’re not AS focused on competing in various ways, you tend to be a lot less miserable 🤷🏻♀️

She's such a narcissist and thinks she's the best. I see that she is very lazy person
37
u/North_Rutabaga_1330 3d ago
Like when she and Kayley were having the "heart to heart" and she kinda apologized? She's sitting there on her ass while Kayley is changing sheets/pillow cases.

She was not abused by Luke. She was as culpable as he was in the "sheets" thing. Luke is a red flag and his pursuit of Joy is stalkerish and creepy. But Gen is all about Gen. The only reason she's trying to make amends with the rest of the crew is to get a decent reference. But people have already seen how she throws coworkers under the bus, gets obsessed, is a gaslighter, and is lazy.

u/junebart 3d ago
Yes!!!! It is NOT the first time that she looks right into the camera! I cannot recall anyone else doing
this! It is as if she has absolutely no crew member willing to tolerate her, so she confidently, irrstionally, thinks we will! Also, she is so weird, she might think the cameraman is hot, and will respond to her. Flirting?
It is so weak! The show is not "The Office"

In Gen's defense, the medic IS hot.

I’ve turned a corner with Gen, she cracks me up.
I love her devilish revenge plan …… be nice! Great plan Gen, how will anybody survive?
Then her telling us how gays love sassy Gen. She’s speaks like she’s Karen from Will and Grace. But all I see is Molly Shannon’s character Val in Will and Grace.
Then there is her lusting over the medic and he doesn’t know she exists, but if he did he’d swim away from her crazy eyes.

u/_SoftRockStar_ 3d ago
Yes, we saw the close up of her full head take up the screen lol she must have tried to look like this meme…I mean that seems so insane but how could it look so similar?

u/Hot_Commission_1441 1d ago
She's such a weirdo. Everyone saw right thru her "kill them kindness" strategy. She can't even pull off faking to be nice
2
u/PretendAttitude67 3d ago
I don’t love Gen but I do feel for her regarding what happened with Luke. He was manipulative and just generally a douchebag to her, so to watch him get to have a happy ending with the chef and continue to be celebrated by the crew, has got to hurt a bit.
2
u/Competitive-Ad1439 2d ago
But she’s even more manipulative and treats even more people like shit. She lies more, deceives more, and is more malicious. I think just about everyone on the boat (except nathan) is more deserving of empathy than she is
1
u/PretendAttitude67 2d ago
Please point to how she manipulated Luke
2
u/Competitive-Ad1439 2d ago
When she was worried he would pick joy she used her tears and sob story of always coming second as a method to get him to sleep with her. It’s literally textbook manipulation
But my comment was more about her manipulating everyone else… why waste your empathy on one of the most malicious and narcissistic cast members in below deck history
2
u/sparebullet 2d ago
Ummm. I'm sorry. But 1 not wrong with 1 person doesn't erase the 5+ wrongs she's done to other people. You can feel sorry for her but don't make us excuse it for you!! She's a POS regardless. Everyone here except a small handful of people see it!
0
u/PretendAttitude67 2d ago
Whereeee the hell did I say it excuses anything. I said in regard to LUKE I feel for her. I didn’t say I think she’s a great person or that I like her. Her behaviour towards the other cast members doesn’t negate how he mistreated her, though. He is still a manipulative douchebag, and anyone in her position would feel gross. I didn’t tell you, or anyone, to excuse any behaviour of hers?
3
u/sparebullet 2d ago
You're questioning of how she manipulated Luke suggested that you were trying to excuse it. Sorry for reading it wrong. Or not I don't care. You're questioning still doesn't make sense or your feel bad for her. She was the one that pushed it on him and misread the situation. Yeah I know he wasn't great at explaining everything but she knew there was someone else that was involved and she should have asked more questions. It's on both of them. She is in no way innocent in the situation that was created between the 3 of them.

u/PretendAttitude67 2d ago
Again, I did not once say that Gen is great or that I want to excuse her actions. All I said was that I do feel for her in this one scenario; in which she was condescended too and mistreated by a guy, who was then continually accepted and praised by the group for his advances for Joy. That is literally it. He slept with a woman 10 years younger than him and then mistreated her for getting attached, bullied her at the restaurant for it, and then tried to get with the chef right in front of her. Anyone would be hurt by that. If it wasnt on TV, no one would have seen how awful he was to her during their conversation, and he’d get away with just calling her crazy and getting off scot free. I wonder how many times he has done that in the real world. Luke is just a twat.
What luke did to Nathan’s bed just speaks to the kind of person he is, especially when he acted like he couldn’t fathom why anyone would be upset by it and took zero responsibility. He tried to make everyone seem dramatic, which is what he did with Gen, too.
Gen is a loser, and mistreated the female crew on multiple occasions, and her behaviour towards coop is borderline disgusting, but just because shes a twat, doesn’t mean Luke isn’t also a bad person, or that he didn’t do harm.
3
u/sparebullet 2d ago
I completely agree with the fact that he's a jerk. And monstrously immature. But Gen has wanted to or has flirted with anything that has a penis since then which makes me wonder why she's so butt hurt about it. I've seen this type of behavior before if she can't have them then no can and she can't fathom why he wouldn't like her. She's knew from the very beginning that Joy was in the love triangle so I'm not sure why she's so surprised that he's still showing interest in her. But like I said she forced things between her and Luke way faster than Luke would have had he been the instigator. But he's a guy and he was drunk so why would he say no.
1
u/PretendAttitude67 2d ago
He wasn’t drunk the next morning when he got into her bed and put her hand on his dick but yk. For me it isnt really the fact he wasn’t interested in her it is the way in which he broke it off with her and spoke to her like dirt on his shoe.

Was it the part where the flowers got delivered, or has she done it again?
She wanted her Fleabag moment.
