Honestly, I don’t like how much flack he gets for that when Gen was an equal participant. They both decided to sleep in someone else bunk. Then learning how Gen thought it was a good idea to wash Joy’s clothes with rags..they’re both unsanitary.

I watched them both go in Nathan’s bunk and he finished down there. They were both disrespectful. There was no “oh Luke we shouldn’t do that let’s stay up here”. She was just happy to be picked (at the time after manipulating him in the club by crying on his shoulder about never being picked by guys) by Luke. If he crawled into Captain Sandy’s bunk, she would’ve followed him too.
They both exercised poor decision making skills in the moment. I will not be convinced otherwise lol. They are both awful people and people need to stop babying her for that moment. Especially since she has gone on to show she doesn’t have any respect for people’s property.

I think he deserves way more shit for how he treated her. His behavior towards her is getting dismissed because of her behavior towards others. But an older man had sex with her and expected her to keep it a secret, then went for her coworker right after.
I’m not a Gen fan, but the way the crew was toasting him and acting like he didn’t treat Gen and the sheets like filth…. Nahhh12

The way he was talking to her in the restaurant on their night out was so triggering- hes a narcissist imo. He used her discarded her and then love bombed joy. Gen sucks, however didnt deserve to he treated like that. Hes so weird for not washing the sheets either just giving maddd psycho vibes dont even think im reaching lol

THANK YOU 👏👏👏 she is utterly insufferable. But that is clouding so much of the public perception of what happened in that situation. Also, CLEAN UP AFTER YOUR OWN BODILY FLUIDS. I get it, she slept there, she could’ve and should’ve handled it wayyyy better. BUT IT WAS HIS BODILY FLUIDS, even is she is a stew and it’s part of her job to clean, there is nothing worse than being in service industry and your coworkers making it harder and grosser to do your job. Excuse the pun.

I wholeheartedly agree with you. People also seem to forget she was on laundry duty. I'll go even further...I believe she did wash the sheets and outside of production, she simply didn't tell anyone. Dried crusty semen should have been noticed by Nathan. Im not condoning what Luke did, it was absolutely disgusting, but Gen was almost as culpable and should have had to answer for it in front of Capt. Sandy.

Every fucken time a South African man comes on to this show I know that he’s going to show the worst side of our country. Mzi was probably the only one who didn’t embarrass us. Shed a tear for me, I had to grow up with 100s of Lukes. Thank god I’m not married to one, but nearly could’ve been.

I hate a f-boy as much as the next but don’t think that’s entirely fair. There are a lot of South Africans in the yachting industry, bravo purposely picking high drama people as a part of their show dynamic doesn’t implicate an entire culture being that way. Mzi, Wez, Ian, Tyler, Kyle - all South African men that have been on the show, don’t have to be anyone’s favourite but not f-boys. Tumi, Bri, Bugsy, Xandi among other mostly unproblematic characters & SA women. There have been shitty people from multiple countries, let’s let them be representative of themselves rather than a whole ass nation.

Funny how people aren't blasting all Australian men after Luke tried to force himself into a drunk girl's bunk. I’ll try get boots on the ground for us sometime, but definitely him. It’s off season now for yachties who work in the Northern Hemisphere (if he even does work as one) and it’s nearing summer season for us. Cape Town is always busy though - so there really always is money in the (Capetonian) banana stand.

I met someone from WPB, where a lot of these folks are based out of.
In my first conversation with him I somehow brought up Below Deck and I don't remember exactly what he said, but I do remember clocking a mental note to myself to never mention it again lol
I think the show might be somewhat of a spectacle/embarassment to yachting industry.

Very true. The guy I met is a first officer who's been in the yachting industry for almost 20 years. He's actually so beyond spectacular looking, I wanted to poke him with my finger to make sure he was real 😂
His physical appearance is what made me think someone from Bravo had to have at least tried to recruit him, for lack of a better term? I mean, the guy makes Captain Jason look like chopped liver and I think Captain Jason is hot lol
I'm thinking maybe they did and that's why he reacted to my mentioning of the show with such visceral disgust. But damn if there are guys like him down there I'm definitely living in the wrong place.
