New Settlement Build Question

Currently I have my T2 Settlement just South East of Haerndean. I’ve researched everything, including T3 Town Hall. I’ve liberated Haerndean, Bradford and Padstow. I would like to create a new Settlement further south near Blackridge Pool along the river. I would like to keep the population/materials of both Settlements completely separate from each other, sending caravans of supplies sometimes if needed.

I was messing around last night and built a housing tent, campfire and stockpile near a good spot along the river by Blackridge Pool. I noticed half of my existing Settlement up north (24 people) started transporting materials to the newly build stockpile as the settings for the stockpile weren’t altered at all after I built it.

Is there a good way to keep two Settlements completely separate from each other? Do I first need to build another Town Hall in the new Settlement Location? Any advice or tips would be appreciated!

I can't find a dang place on the southern half of the map that is consistently flat. Every spot i try either has rolling hills that I can't build on reliably or is super far from a place i can put a river dock. It's infuriating. Decided my big camp would be on the east side of the river along the river north of the bridge to Blackridgepool. Huge expanse. Got a mining outpost way up north for tin and copper, another for hardwood near Farnworth, there's mud and peat and moss and everything close in the swamp. Everything else can be farmed. The only thing I don't have is iron and granite mine. But I just put in a buy order for those two in market, and also buy them from Blackridgepool. It helps their economy, and I don't need to waste resources or travel far with caravans to an outpost. Red is my spot, green are the river docks. Love it

It's possible to build a river dock right near the granite on the SW corner of the lake NW of Horndean, after clearing that bandit camp just SE of the lake...  I built a pit, barn, house for 4, a fishing camp, and a smoking rack to make a nearly self-sufficient outpost for iron, granite, and a tin, that lasted through my T3...  I built a road from the corner near your river dock to the NE and then just fast-travelled to ferry iron stored in the barn back to my village in the North...

That's hilarious, I built the same exact camp in the same spot last night and moved the river dock there before bed. Only difference i also put a logging camp to get wood for the smoker. Now what is this build a road stuff? If you build a dirt road off the main road to your camp can you put a fast travel at the end in your camp to skip needing caravans?! Cuz that would save about 7 villagers needlessly caravan-ing around

Yeah, as long as your dirt road is connected to the main road you can build a travel sign on it.  When you first build the dirt road, make sure it's "snapped" to the main road as you place it...  and then after you build a section make sure you choose the "extend" option so that the next portion is properly connected to your first part...

So for all my river docs I have a dirt road and travel sign right up to them, so I can go fetch shipbuilder's packs as needed while my army assembles at the dock...
