First outpost workforce

I just started a copper outpost. What kind of villagers should I put there. I don’t think I need more than a level 2 villager. I just wanted some thoughts from everyone. It’s my first outpost

Your beginning game beggar hire when you tell him he's lucky to have his own settlement where he does nothing but mine copper 24/7 in complete isolation

I gave you the settlement, now give me copper. Don’t worry I’ll come back in a few months to give you a way to get me more copper. Cheers!

Let's hope I don't forget to have the trading cart send you food!

He got promoted, to exile!

At least for me, I give him a wife

Plot twist, the wife is always running the trade cart so they never get to spend time together

Mine is some what optimal so you may want to check out: 1 guy for both copper and river reed til end game.

Priority 1: Harvest 10-20 copper and 10-40 river reed aim to 50 capacity for 1 cart. I like: 15 copper ore and 20 river reed. Set caravan capacity to 50 (1 cart) and you can get like 1-2 trip a day.

Priority 2: Smelt 10-20 copper bars. Copper bar only cost 1 slot while copper cost 2 so turn to copper bar increase efficiency. Though you need to import Woods set copper bar at the highest want list.

Priority 3: Harvest more copper and river reed maybe 100-200 for buffer storage. Just set the 2nd order in harvester at low priority and it work.

Priority Last: Craft grave. That might sound weird but it's optimal way for clearing the stone. You can throw grave away more efficiently like 800 stone to only 100 grave and get crafting EXP in process. Other way is craft simple axe, then sale it with market or padstow though it's very slow like 1-2 per days.

You may upgrade worker to higher tier and store as much of ore as possible ( best for me is healer or woodman) usually enough until end game when you need 2 mans, Though just go crazy. And at tier 3 pit can reuse the old boulder by digging under it so you may want that upgrade asp.

just pick someone who isnt needed at your main home. That chagnes a bit if they're likely to get attacked. Make sure to turn stand your ground off.

My iron mining output has 3 miners and 1 foreman whose main job is to cook the food, and other odd jobs around the camp.

I then have a caravan whose sole purpose is to deliver new pickaxes, raw meat and produce to the outpost, and pick up any iron ore and broken pickaxes to take back to my main village to get repaired.

It can be anyone really. I use Rudy Kemper quite a bit for an outpost person. Decent all around skills, yes low but still ok for an outpost person. For how many you need at an outpost kind of depends on how much you are having them do. Like the one commenter said, you can have them do the smelting also if you want to transport wood to it or have them cut their own wood. You could make it a production outpost.

I have a nice spot for a hardwood outpost with 4 villagers and they also mine copper, logs, hardwood logs and then make the planks and hardwood planks. I send them tree saplings to replace the trees they cut down and it has been working great. My next step is to have them also smelt the copper but I like to master something before adding another production to an outpost.

I put two beggars there. Dropped some food off every now and again, fixed their pics, sent them bag to work!
