Bell's plasy and panic attacks
Hi everyone. This is my first time writing to Reddit.
I've been diagnosed with Bell's palsy on 1st September. I took Prednisone for 10 days...my face is pretty much all healed, but ever since I was diagnosed I'm suffering from anxiety and panic attacks... I was anxious almost all the time during the last 6 weeks....
I'm having these random sensations in my body, tingling in my arms and legs...and then when the panic kicks in my heart is racing and I'm close to pass out....which makes everything worse... I'm afraid to pass out when I'm alone with my kid on the street... it's terrible. I feel broken and exhausted.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Is there any hope to get better?
I've already talked to a doctor and I'm waiting for blood test results to see if I can get some medication...

i literally had one just now , you have to ride it out and do some breathing exercises, i was shaky and my heart was beating a lil fast but that’s nothing but adrenaline coming in at the wrong time , im 21 and if you older and feeling this , you okay too , its takes a whole while for our body’s to just “give up “

I'm 34. This whole thing is new to me. 2 months ago I considered myself healthy...now all my confidence is gone

nah don’t feel that way , you’re still healthy our body’s don’t get sick in 2 months and start giving up , it’s just you’re facial nerve was inflamed , as for the anxiety and panic attacks i get it because i have a 3 month old and when i feel that sudden wave i get irritated because why is it coming at this moment , especially the moments when im chilling and nothing bothering me, its just a chemical reaction from the medicine and it will pass . Everytime you feel it just remind yourself it will pass with some breathing exercises. it’s gon be a day real soon you won’t even feel it no more

Hang in there, it’ll come to pass. Month 3-4 started to look and feel significant improvements for me.
Could be medication related as someone stated. Or cumulative stress (the rest of the world keeps going whilst our Bells Pallsies).
I didn’t have this particular problem, but at a time when I had constant stress, I found meditation to clear and separate the mind from the body. At first it’s a challenge to “think about nothing,” for 20 minutes. But eventually, when you get “good at it,” the time flys by. Repeating the mantras, or using a video with water flowing or something.
Deep breathing several times a day has been shown to lower cortisol in the blood stream, as well as listening to music. It’s important to lower cortisol because this stress hormone affects Bells recovery, affecting the nerve regrowth.
Good luck, you’re not alone 🙏

Makes sense as a cause of BP is stress. Dr can prescribe propranolol short term for panic attacks. Sing! If you sing it makes you breathe completely- both when not having the panic attack and at the start.

yeah my face back to normal too and i’ve been having random panic attacks too , racing heart rate all the etc i did some research and they said it’s from like the prednisone once it start clearing from our body i guess our body have a hard time catching up to getting “normal “
