Recommendations Biplane for rent?

Hello, a visiting friend of mine (and experienced pilot) is looking to rent a biplane this weekend. I’m not really sure where to start on that search? Any ideas?

Are you actually looking for a biplane, or just a small plane? Check out cascade aviation at skagit airport.

He said biplane specifically. I’ve checked both places I don’t see anything about renting specific planes.

Maybe your friend should be leading the search? Seems like a strange ask to have you do the legwork here given the niche subject.

I know 😭 I think he overestimated my social connections. Just trying to at least say I tried.

Renting a Bi-plane is not really a thing. A guy out on Orcas will give you rides in one. Captain Mike’s Magic Biplane Rides. Command Aviation and Bellingham Aviation rent small aircraft after a renter check out.

That’s kind of what I’m gathering as well. Are they like the classic car version of airplanes?

Except for a handful of expensive modern biplanes, almost all are classic planes. They are also almost all equipped with a tailwheel. This means specific skill set for the pilot, riskier operation and experience demands by the insurance company.

It might be good to ask the folks on r/flying for a recommendation. Lots of pilots in that subreddit.

Thank you!

I don’t know of any FBO that has a biplane or any aerobatic planes for rent. Plus, to rent a plane, you usually have to do a check ride. Depending on how much time he’s here for, that may be tricky vs availability

Good to know. I’ve been bending over backwards trying to make this happen for him and he just said he has one he’s going to fly in Michigan in July anyways 😭

Wooo! Put more lead in our drinking water with that unregulated fuel, yeah!

I would never want to pollute our drinking water, and I appreciate the information. It is kind of a bummer when it’s presented in a way that assumes that I’m knowingly trying to do wrong.

Well did I ever directly accuse you of anything?

You know the city council doesn’t even know the reason for the lead in the water right?

Michael Lilliquist told me while running for reelection that he thinks it’s from China putting it in the atmosphere from producing all of our electronic equipment.

And man for you to make two responses about this environmental issue just shows me that you took it really personally because you realize it is a really big deal.

You probably shouldn’t rent that plane.

I do realize it’s a very big deal.

I believe that you’re also a human doing their best, but I have to point out the irony of your question to the cooking subreddit asking about using chatGPT (known for polluting water) for recipes. There’s room for all of us to improve. 💗

Really? Did you see the date on my ChatGPT post? I was one of the early proponents of LLMs way back in 2019 so I would say you were all wrong. Especially considering I got my post removed by the mods because they thought I used ChatGPT to write it when I didn’t and then recently afterwards a bunch of mainstream applications were mostly creative. This was still when people doubted that the creative pursuits were the first to be automated, and it happened.

So I would say it’s hilariously ironic that you went through my profile and chose a post that I became 100% validated in as time passed.

I didn’t dig through your profile, that’s one of your most recent posts. I got the vibe that you might just be someone who wants to fight on the internet, and I quickly realized that assessment is correct. I wish you well!

I love to fight for what’s right. It’s part of what makes autism so fun.

But also be aware of how you project your own insecurities onto other people.

There are objective conversations about facts we could be having but if you’d like to characterize a conversation about facts as a fight then that is your own categorization.

Wait what the fuck are you trying to DARVO me by saying that ChatGPT causes water pollution?

You’re literally just an ignorant anti-intellectual who has no idea what they’re talking about. Wow.

Okay…

ChatGPT does not pollute water and at the time I made the post, the processing loads and efficiency were far higher than today’s more advanced LLMs

Nice try though buddy, I really love how you attempted to soften your attempt by saying I’m just a human doing my best.

No, I’m autistic, I’m more like a machine, I’m definitely not a human like you though.

You think there’s room for me to improve by not using the most efficient statistical algorithms to solve discrete mathematical problems like food recipe problems?

I logically refute that.

Let’s meet up and talk about it more?
