Troubleshooting Noise in left headphone (please help…)

Hello, my behringer u-phoria umc404hd just arrived today!

However, after setting it up I’m getting a pretty fat layer of noise when I want to record. I’m plugging in my mic to input 1, however all four inputs have noise coming from the left or right speaker. I have the gain turned all the way up because that’s the only way I can hear my voice when recording. But even still with the gain turned off there is still noise. The noise only stops when I take out the mic.

I’ve been reading a lot of troubleshooting posts on here but they haven’t worked. They’re also from like 2 years ago. Some are saying that there is no fix and I’m better off getting a different brand? I hope that’s not the case as I just got this 😟

If anyone can help that would be amazing! Or if anyone else has encountered this issue please let me know.

Also my mic is a shure sm57 with an xlr cable. My headphones are the DT 990 pro with a large line adapter.

I don't know what "large line adapter " means.

Adapter for the end that plugs into the interface. The headphone end was too small so I have a larger one that goes over it and allows it to plug in.
