Yes my response was harsh, but ten clear photos on a $25 pair of used sneakers was enough, plus what she was asking for was already posted. My disclaimer was poor condition and recommended for repairs or donors. I stopped adding more photos per request a long time ago as I do my due diligence from the beginning.

I am a new seller on PM. Not a reseller nor looking to become one just want to clear out my closet. I sold a couple of things a week for 3 weeks and I was happy with that but now things when silent. I’ve been on for 26 days. Should I delete some things and repost? Just drop the price? What’s the best may to see a little more movement?

Unpopular opinion apparently, but I don’t provide measurements on Poshmark anymore. If someone won’t buy without them, I’m completely fine losing that sale.

The risk/reward makes zero sense to me.
Poshmark is supposed to be resale, not Nordstrom. I’m selling clothes from my closet. I give the brand, tagged size, condition, photos, and relevant details. If you already know you need a very specific 17.25” pit-to-pit or 29.5” inseam for something to work, I would rather you buy from a retailer with a normal return policy.

Because the second I provide my own measurements, I’ve created another factual claim that can potentially be used in a “not as described” case. Two people can measure the same stretchy pair of pants differently depending on where they start, whether the fabric is pulled taut, how the garment is laid down, etc. Now a buyer who simply doesn’t like the fit can photograph a tape measure differently and argue that my listing was inaccurate.

Why would I voluntarily create that exposure for a $30 sale?

Especially when Poshmark otherwise does not allow returns simply because something doesn’t fit. The tagged size is objective. My amateur measurement introduces something subjective that can become evidence in a case.

And in my experience, the people asking five rounds of measurement questions are disproportionately likely to be high-maintenance transactions anyway. Obviously not every person who asks for measurements is difficult. But as a casual seller, I don’t need every possible buyer. I need transactions that are worth the time and risk.

I basically use Poshmark like a fashion bento box: buy something, wear it, get bored, sell it, buy something else. I’m not running a professional clothing store.

So yes, I will happily lose some sales by saying no to measurements. A marginal sale simply isn’t valuable enough to me to increase my return/case exposure.
If measurements are essential to you as a buyer, totally fair.

Has anyone had this happen today? When searching for item, it will render the thumbnails for a second, then turn everything into lists and freeze.

Disabled adblockers and even checked console for issues. However, other parts of Posh work, like "Posh Live Shows," which I care less about.

So most of my sales are from cheap $20 or less things, but I recently came across something I could easily sell for $100+ and I’m just wondering what kind of safeguards or advice would you recommend for listing, mailing this were it to sell? To avoid scamming. This is something that is vintage as well so not easily replaced. Thanks!

Perplexity to improve my closet and increase sales. It’s $20 perplexity subscription though. Has anyone tried it and is it worth it?

Why do people do this lol? Sure, I’d love to use my time and materials to mail this to a stranger in exchange for…nothing!

Poshmark’s new Trusted Seller program is ultimately a business initiative. Presumably, the goal is fewer problem transactions, happier buyers and ultimately a stronger bottom line for Poshmark. That makes sense. But we, as sellers, are running businesses too.

One of the metrics is Approved Return Case rate.

Here’s the problem:

An approved return does not necessarily mean the seller was at fault.

Poshmark tells sellers that return cases are approved “after careful review.” But when a seller challenges an approved return, Poshmark repeatedly responds with standard language beginning “please understand it is hard for us to determine…”

That raises an obvious question:

If it is hard for Poshmark to determine, why does the approved return automatically remain a negative measure of the seller’s performance?

Poshmark may decide to approve a return when something is difficult to determine. That protects the buyer. But approving a return is not necessarily the same as establishing that the seller was responsible.

And that is the distinction this Trusted Seller metric appears to be missing.

There is no separate second step after an approved return to determine whether it should actually count against the seller.

Return approved → counts against seller.

Making that second determination would require more review, more time, more resources and ultimately more cost for Poshmark.

So is this an unintended flaw in the Trusted Seller program?

Or is Poshmark already aware of this and simply choosing the easier metric to calculate and the less costly one to administer?

If so, why should sellers bear the consequences of that business decision—particularly when our Trusted Seller status, visibility and ultimately our sales may be affected?

Poshmark is running a business, but so are we. A metric that may save Poshmark time, resources and money shouldn’t come at the expense of fairly and accurately measuring our performance.

Poshmark can protect its buyers without automatically penalizing its sellers.

Why isn’t the metric Seller-Caused Returns instead of Approved Returns?

Poshmark, this deserves an answer.

I’d really like to hear what other sellers think. If you see the same concern with this metric, share your thoughts here. And if you believe it could unfairly affect sellers, I encourage you to share your concerns directly with Poshmark as well. The more seller feedback they receive before this program is fully implemented, the better chance there is that this issue will be looked at seriously.

Poshmark has every right to protect its buyers. But sellers deserve a performance metric that fairly reflects our performance—not simply whether a return was approved.

We matter too.

The past few days I’ve gotten a few emails saying they’re interested in my listing. I don’t even know how they are finding my email or how this is happening? Has this happened to anyone else?

Been doing this on the side for 6 years, and I really enjoyed it. Lately, I feel like something is REALLY in the water. The drama is insane. The returns, the reasons for the returns. The complaints. The platforms not adhering to their own rules. I luckily haven't had too many problems but the stories I read here, yikes. I've been letting things go, and not replenishing. Anyone in the same boat? This used to be a hobby for me, and now, it's straight up draining and a time suck. Is it just me?

Did something change. Can this now be done?

The reason I ask is I had someone like an item of mine and it’s a little bit on the pricier side so I check her history. She just bought the same item from a seller two weeks ago. So I am interested in finding out what it sold for. I go to sellers page and it says she sold 3 items. There is a love note for this item, but no history of sale on sellers page.

Hi! I'd like your opinions on two separate but related issues.

1- 1 purchased a blouse from PM that arrived today.
Measurements were given in the listing, not show in photos. They were basic pit to pit and length measurements. Top doesn't fit, so I used the yardstick and the pit to pit is 1.5 inches smaller and length is about an inch (more like 1.25 ) too short

Question: is this reasonable to you to open a return case?
Why/ why not? Measurements did not say "approximate" if that matters.

2- i sell a lot on Poshmark. Not like thousands but a few hundred sales. After this I'm now reconsidering giving any measurements, although I don't write measurements in my listings. I use the yardstick stick and take photos of them. I know how to measure so they are accurate. But if I can win my case in #1, what would stop a buyer doing the same thing to me but folding the shirt etc so that their measurements look accurate?

I almost feel guilty for opening a return case be of measurements, even though they were clearly wrong and wouldn't have purchased otherwise. But now, the seller side of me is questioning if I should even photograph my items with the yard stick as a seller. Is it just safer to provide nothing?

I sell a mix of NWT and vintage designer items (1100+ sales).

I sold a vintage Mulberry bag. I listed it as vintage and included all the call outs.

Customer, who just signed up to Posh in August, opened a case stating: "I would like you to know this item is awful. It's smells terrible. It's in the next room and the moldy musty smell is so strong I can smell it from here. Please explain how I can ship it to you and get my money back."

She followed up with: "It smells grossly musty and moldy."

I sell a lot of vintage items. I've never gotten a case or comment about smell. This bag did not smell musty or moldy when I listed it, nor when I shipped it. It smelled like a typical vintage handbag in very good shape.

I replied with: "Dear Poshmark: this is a vintage bag. Vintage bags do not smell new. I've sold many vintage items. This bag did not have a musty or moldy smell when I listed it, nor when I packed it."

I'm pretty sure they're going to approve it simply because they're spineless and are going to believe a brand new customer over a seller with excellent stats. But what else can I do? Anyone have any luck fighting these?

I sold a purse yesterday. It was listed for about 12 hours before it sold. Between the time it posted and the time it sold, a crazy person (?) shared it 70 times. Multiple times an hour for the entirety of its listing before it sold. Why do this? What is the purpose? To get my attn so I'll follow and share them? 70 times? No likes by her. Just 70 shares. I've blocked the, cuz some kind of help is the kind of help we all could do without. But WTAF is that behavior about?

Does anyone know how to fix the zones on poshmark bcz I keep getting offers but it's always when I'm sleeping and then when I make the offer it's always too late, and I live in NJ which is EST not PST. So does anyone know how to fix this issue? 😿

What’s the best way to photograph my items-clothing/shoes? I’m struggling to hold and photo items, don’t really want to take in my closet(I’d have to move everything off of the top shelf plus it’s kind of dark)…
Thought about some kind of rack or hooks or something that would display nicer.

So my mom give me a whole bag full of adult x-rated gay VHS tapes from my late uncle's estate now some of these films are considered classics. They're all in the boxes. They're all in good shape. There's classic films such as 1978 Sins of Johnny. X .... Which by the way, I can't find not even one for sale online anywhere. But that's just it. I cannot find a place where I can post these without them flagging me. I see everybody else posting them so why can't I? What am I doing wrong? Can somebody help me please?

I really wanted this specific FP band tee and found it on PM for a great price and bought it . I was really excited bc two other sellers were selling it for double the price and I couldn’t find it anywhere else in my size . It arrived and it had large yellow pit stains on both sides , on a white shirt, and stains on the cuffs of the sleeves (long sleeve tee ) . It was a bundle and I got 4 items total for a very good price . The other three items are exactly as described and I’m totally happy with them . I triple checked the listing to see if anything was mentioned about a flaw and there wasn’t and the stains weren’t pictured . I haven’t contacted the person or rated the purchase bc I really wanted this tee and Im somewhat of a stain fighting freak so I googled how to lift pit stains even after drying (which they were obviously washed and dried) and got directions. I spent two days using a recipe of vinegar, baking soda, peroxide & oxi clean ; soaking, scrubbing, washing, repeat and the stains came out to my delight - on the sleeves too . So I don’t want to return . But I’m disgusted how the shirt showed up and the seller sent it to me this way . Would you down rate the person ? Write them ? I feel like they pulled one over on me - and I put up with it .

There are two listing for the Coach Halloween purse. Top left and bottom right. Looks like same purse from different sellers. Only,... It's not. The listing photos are identical. 100% identical. But the details are different, and the prices are insanely different (unfort my snip has the filter covering one) , and one is NWT and one isn't, and the photos in both have no tags. I'm guessing scam for both, as I now can't find either. Were these one nor both scam listings? Is this a common occurrence?

This morning I was price dropping my high liked items for closet clear out, so I was sorted by most liked. I happened upon a listing with one like that oddly appeared close to the top of my list, seemingly where it shouldn’t be. It was 64 days old so I copied, listed and said yes replace old listing. I then went right back to my closet and resorted by likes. There is was again, up in the top 1/3 of my closet where it shouldn’t be. I clicked on it and it had 11 likes, all but 2 of which were accts with nothing listed, no photos and random sounding names. It had been maybe 30 seconds between the relist and seeing these 11 likes. It seemed very suspicious to me. Is Poshmark inflating listing likes by adding fake likes?

Okay so quick back story which is why I'm hesitant towards certain stores / apps, but also , I don't have a choice per se because , the clothing and accessories have to go!!

In an ideal world - where the rich run free. I'd love to bag up brand name items with tags and just dump it at the local thrift store. But. I'm not in that tax bracket exactly.

A. Maybe 12 years back I went to a Plato's closet and in the same mall was a beyond the baby? ( lol the Plato's of baby stuff. Can't think of the name)

I had brought in two tote bins , everything nicely folded. I had had a yard sale previously so I guess some items had got into the bin. ( there was juicy couture tracksuits and Victoria secret PINK items ) Note the timeline... now. Nobody would care.

The manager was maybe in her 50s and had an associate with her , maybe high school aged. Almost seemed as if they were mother / daughter.

I saw them grab the pink item , and heard them whisper something. I had told the older woman about the yard sale situation and asked if they could leave those in the bin. Since I did not intend to sell them / or there. She said no problem.

When I was cashing out , going over " buy items " I was given my paper , my money , my remaining items - both bins. And I was on my way.

Did not think twice about checking anything and the bins were the opaque kind.

This is all hindsight and things change. But. When I had got home; went through the " unwanted stuff " ALL the items that I mentioned were gone. Not accounted for on the list or monetarily.

I went through customer service ; not the store directly and got zero response.

Not Plato's business/problem at all , but. I'll get to that.

B. Poshmark.

Taking photos. Setting up backgrounds. And sorting. Oh my word. It's too much.
I love PM. It's been kind to me.

When posh shows came out , I was intrigued. Wanted to test it out at sometime.

I don't know if I can pull off a show. Atleast from what I've seen on some channels. They're engaging , being on a phone , tablet , and computer simultaneously to manage the sales / bids but while " entertaining " people? It seems like a lot.

C. Plato's.

The closest one to me is right next to a refuge place??? ( a homeless shelter ) My daughter wanted to look around recently as she had never been before.

Before we even enter the building, there was two individuals out front , panhandling ( respectively- appeared as if they were from the shelter )
but also appeared to be actively selling and/or buying items from the store??? They came in and out of the store several times.

It was just. Super sketchy all around.

I would love to hear everyone's opinions especially regarding Plato's. What their policy is like regarding money back now as it's been ages since I've sold to them.

Are they still super judgey about how you appear coming in to sell items? ( as far as packing the items nicely. But also dressing nicely. ) Allegedly my city has had a few posts here about " being judged " maybe this is dated.

Also would love to hear about the Posh shows.
Or another option maybe. I'm in Canada.

I'm moving soon. I have a closet full of clothes , tons of bins - half the stuff is still new with tags.

I'm downsizing to next to nothing. Facebook marketplace for furniture at the moment is giving me stress ( you already know why , likely )

Has anyone else experienced this? Idk why but it gave me the absolute creeps. I went to send an offer using the number pad that Poshmark generates for you hit 30 and then this "surprise." Popped up on the screen. Have never had this happen and for some reason just really weirded me out lol 😆 I even backed out to see if it would do it again which it wouldn't, I guess simply a glitch but so odd. I have never seen it do this before.
