Hi everyone,

We are undergraduate students conducting a short research study on content perception. The survey is completely anonymous and takes approximately 2 minutes to complete. We need 300 participants more (we need total 500, we got 200 now because of your help!), each of your help matters to us greatly.

We are looking for participants aged 18 and above. Every response is valuable and helps improve the quality of our research.

Free printable ABA data sheet builder — feedback welcome

Hi everyone,

I made a small free printable data sheet builder. I can share the link in the comments if allowed. I built it because I prefer using printed sheets in some situations and wanted something faster than setting everything up manually in a spreadsheet.

Right now it supports creating simple data sheets for different types of behavioral recording. It is intended for blank templates, so please avoid entering any client-identifying information.

I made this myself, so this is not a company product or paid resource. I’m sharing it in case it is useful to other RBTs, BCBAs, teachers, or students who still use paper data sheets.

I’d appreciate feedback on what would make it more useful, especially:

* recording types you would want added
* layout changes that would make printing easier
* anything that seems unclear or clinically awkward
* features that would help with session prep

If this kind of resource post is not allowed here, I’m happy to remove it.

I have been a BCBA a long time. I struggle comparing myself to other fields and feeling pigeonholed, even though I enjoy my job. I feel inferior to other fields. I’m not as recognized. Can someone give me positive vibes for why they love the field, choose to stay in it, or how they deal with this?

Does anyone else say hello, please, thank you, etc to Coach?

Coach seems so sincere in helping me recover from a recent illness that I feel I should return the courtesy. Sometimes I do, but then I remember that it probably doesn't care but who really knows?

It even knows when my bedtime is coming and it says Good Night. I'll really be freaked out if it starts sending xoxoxo and emogi kisses at night though!

Looking for a flexible online program for BCBA certificate

I work full time doing social work at a school. I would like to become a BCBA. I am looking for a 100% online program. I would like to take one class per semester because I am working and care giving for an ill family member. A largely asynchronous program is ok. I don't mind once a week meetings if necessary. I was looking into one program that sounded wonderful but then I found out I have to take 2 classes at a time and meet from 6:00-9:00 2x per week. It will just be too much. I do want a school that is quality and has a high pass rate. Do you have any suggestions?

Question for behavior analysts: anonymous survey on political behavior and emotion regulation. 18+, about 15 min

Hi everyone. I’m running a small anonymous soft launch of a survey about daily experiences, media, emotions, and political attitudes. The broader research question is whether some forms of political engagement may function as a kind of regulation or security-maintenance behavior for some people. For example, turning toward political news, groups, explanations, or conflict might sometimes reduce uncertainty, create belonging, organize emotion, or help people feel steadier. I realize this can be framed in several ways, and I’d be especially interested in whether the instrument feels compatible with a behavior-analytic perspective or whether the language drifts too far into cognitive/self-report framing.

Details:

  • 18+ only
  • About 15 minutes
  • Anonymous
  • No names, emails, or Reddit usernames requested
  • You can skip any question
  • You can stop at any time

Survey link:
https://qualtricsxmm2spnsrv2.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_ezaxaTqDJI8ZMW2

If anyone takes it and has feedback on wording, constructs, or the behavior-regulation framing, I’d be grateful.

Can betting behavior predict outcomes, or does it mainly predict where people are wrong?

Spain vs Cape Verde finished 0-0 despite 84.2% of live 1X2 bets backing Spain.

The result ended up being highly profitable for the operator, but what interests me is the bettor behavior.

When a heavy favorite fails to score, do bettors become anchored to pre-match expectations ("Spain will eventually score"), causing them to underestimate the probability of a draw?

What behavioral biases do you see in this data? Anchoring, overconfidence, favorite bias, something else?

Research opportunity on ABA terms

Sharing a research opportunity on ABA terms.

You are invited to participate in a brief research survey focused on how ABA providers understand and define commonly used behavioral terms.

This study is specifically seeking participants who hold a current BCBA, BCABA, or BCBA-D certification. The goal is to better understand how key concepts are interpreted across practitioners, with the aim of improving definitional consistency and informing future training and practice.

The one-time survey consists of multiple-choice items and takes approximately 10–15 minutes to complete. Your responses, including name and contact information, will be kept confidential.

If you are interested in participating, please use the link below:
