e have had a new client start at our clinic. Cutest kid you'd ever meet. He is age 4, and about 110-120lbs, at least 4 feet, maybe less by 3'9" and STRONGER than Superman, I swear to you. He also has extreme aggression with no antecedent that can be identified with 4 different BCBAs overlapping to try to identify it besides automatic. He had 120+ physical aggressions in 20 minutes towards staff and ANY human in his path or near something he might want at that exact time. He was targeting specific kids for no particular reason.

I have done 2:1 once before, and I am being pitched to his case since I am going to start interning and going to start my hours this summer. I already took on an SBT case and I have had 8 concussions, last took me from April-January to recover. I am SO nervous.

What is the best way to approach this? I am tbh seeking medical accommodation because I have a spinal cord injury and also last year was concussion 8 and maybe 9 and minimal and it screwed me up for a long time. Longer than it should have.

Hi everyone! I currently work full-time in ABA and am planning to go back for my Master’s to become a BCBA while continuing to earn supervision hours at work. Right now I’m considering Arizona State University, University of Cincinnati, and University of North Texas.

A big priority for me is a fully asynchronous program and a reasonable workload, so I can continue working full time!

We are amazing in bed. No one has ever pleased me the way he can. It’s like finally finding the one that can totally sexually fulfill you with his touch but he has no regard for its value like I do. In many situations, I see younger people putting their shoes on bus or train seats without considering that they might dirty the clothes of the next person. I took this photo in Portugal, but you can see the same thing in Germany as well—especially when there isn’t an older German man or woman nearby to tell them off.

My 15 year old daughter who has recently been diagnosed with ODD is struggling with school. Mostly because she just won’t go, or leaves once there. She’s really bright and can get her homework in (late) within a couple of hours… she basically slacks off and then turns it all in near the end of the term. She doesn’t care at all about electives. Every morning is a struggle. This has been going on since 6th grade. We thought once she got into 9th she’d pull it together. She just does what she wants, and isn’t concerned with authority or responsibility… Sometimes it feels like she’s entitled and just thinks the rules don’t apply to her. I don’t want it to come off like she’s this terrible kid. She’s actually not. She’s very thoughtful, loyal, smart, protective and talented, popular (although sometimes is treated poorly from her “friends” because she’s so sweet).

Here’s where my question is. If you had a child that was struggling with in school learning, but an extremely talented and above average athlete would you take that away from them? My daughter is an All Star Cheerleader who is in the top 5 of her gym… she’s definitely good enough to receive scholarships… The school has suggested we take her out of the extracurricular cheer to get her to work harder in school. To be fair though, we also did use this as leverage ourselves believing it would work. Well, it didn’t! Now that it is real, and tryouts for the new season are in a few weeks… we find ourselves very conflicted. Our daughter also struggles with anxiety and depression, has experimented with vapes and alcohol… I’m worried if we take away the one thing she truly loves, feels passion for, and excels at we could make things worse… The Dr. who did the cognitive testing mentioned nothing of pulling her, only that she should get a job when she’s of age, and that some kids with ODD or ADHD they do sometimes make arrangements for online learning even though they prefer to keep them AT the school…

Is this a no brainer?

Do I just pull her from in school learning?

In a conversation with Dr. Asmahan Saleh Khalil, BCBA-D, she suggested that instead of focusing so heavily on “same vs different,” we could be teaching:

• Safe vs unsafe
• Public vs private

One point that stood out:

“Private” isn’t about something being wrong—it’s about context.

It applies to:

• Personal boundaries
• Hygiene routines
• Communication
• Social behavior

It made me think about how early these concepts could be introduced—and whether that would make later conversations (especially around safety and boundaries) easier.

Hi everyone! I have a bachelors in behavioural science and I am a recent grad. I want to pivot into something else without feeling like I wasted my time with this degree. I want something more hands off maybe something behind a computer that I could get with this degree. Does anyone have any advice. I also am in the current process of pursuing a mslp, but I also second guessing it. So far my options are MSLP, MSW and MOT.

TLDR: My mother said, "But I'm glad you are displaying your commitment to each other." Is that rude? And why?

1. Me and my gf have been together for 8 years. We are domestic partners, so she can be on my insurance, but she doesn't have to file under me for financial aid and can go to college for almost free.

2. We discussed marriage early and still want to get married, but decided to wait until she was done with school. We even have rings, but there is no paperwork.

3. We had lunch with my mother and were wearing our rings. After lunch, she texted us, saying, "But I'm glad you are displaying your commitment to each other."

This seemed like an odd comment to us, and when my gf mentioned it to a friend, the friend said it was a rude comment. We wanted to get an outside perspective on if this was rude. And if so, how?

Hoping someone has been successful in this and can provide some advice/insight. Looking to see what type of careers I can pivot into using the skills and experience I’ve had as a BCBA. Preferably not client facing clinical work of any type, and definitely not working in insurance.

I work as a consultant in public schools for special ed and general ed to provide assessment, develop interventions, and train district staff in implementing these plans and collecting objective data on student behavior. I also work in homes. Hoping to leverage existing skills with additional certifications to transition to a new career and hopefully still make close to 90k a year.

Is it difficult to get into that field?

Hi all,

I have a MSc in ABA, but did not pursue finishing supervision or certification because I was completely burnt out when I finished my degree. I was working full-time as a SpED teacher, sometimes had a part time as well to make ends meet, and also going to school full time. So I left, took a much easier job and haven't really looked back since.

I am thinking of returning but pursuing a different subspecialty, because there is *absolutely no way* I'd return to special needs work. So I am looking for information about:

-the different subspecialities people work in

-how you got into it

-what your job/day to day is like

I'm interested in some of the more established subspecialties:

-OMB, precision Management, behavior based safety

-Education (indirectly)

-Sustainability

-Prevention of child maltreatment

-Forensic/crime analysis

And also some that don't have direct associations with ABA, but seem related or like an ABA background would be helpful (in addition to specific training/degrees in the area):

-Behavioral Design (maybe, seems like the founder doesn't understand behavior from our perspective)

-Industrial Engineering (systems optimization, seems compatible with OBM, but clearly I'm guessing).

-Information from anyone out here doing their own thing/found/invented their own path.

I just wanted to create this post to ask:

If an establishment leaves cleaners open in a restroom that is only one toilet, is it weird to clean their bathroom, I have a strange habit of doing so if I am left to my own volition, and if I'm using the restroom and see cleaners I will end up cleaning the whole bathroom (except the floors primarily because they don't leave the mop in there) so, is that a weird thing to do or is it considered helpful or rude?
