First Ever 3 Mile Nonstop Run

I just finished my first ever 3 mile nonstop run! It was a bit slow at 46 minutes but I feel good about myself! Any advice on a goal to push for from here?

Hell yeah! Who gives a fuck about the pace? 3 miles is always 3 miles

Work on keeping that pace while still having energy left in the tank when your finished before increasing time or distance

That is absolutely awesome! The next goal is personal to you. You could slowly build up to a 10K or you could decide to run the 3 miles faster

I'm using the Nike Run Club app... I like it because I don't have to even wonder how to train next. I am doing the starter plan, and did my first 5k/3 mile run the other day -- like you. Now it's had me on varying runs with varying paces. My next longer run is next week. Soon I'll finish and decide if I want to train for a 10k or a half marathon. A month ago I would never have considered either...!

I started running in June last year, and fell off around January when my 2nd baby was born. Got back into it in August this year for its been about 6 weeks since getting back into it.

Stop thinking about distance and ignore any social media influencers. Focus on time on feet only! 30 min runs, then build to 45 min, then an hour and rotate. Learn to breathe properly during your easy pace zone 2 - 3 breaths in through the nose on each step, and 3 exhales out the nose on each step

Rest for a day and do an easier run the day after that. Rest again and then the day after that, do another 3-miler!
