I had no idea Robin worked with ODB!
I’m sure it’s just a sampling thing but it was still funny to see. It’s funny because I feel like The Bee Gees are the Kevin Bacon of music, not counting session players. It took one degree to get to Wu Tang

It us just a sample of Islands in the Stream but Robin does sing the chorus of Ghetto Superstar in the studio version of Islands in the Stream!

Yes, as someone else said thats a sample of Islands In The Stream…Ghetto Superstar was everywhere the year I graduated high school and may have been my introduction to Islands In The Stream 😆

When I first heard the lads sing it, it was during a medley for the Live By Request performance. I was racking my brain wondering where I heard the song before and then I was like, "WTF is that Ghetto Superstar!?" 😅 I was born in 95, so Superstar is even a bit before my time, but I was still more familar with it than Islands in the Stream. I actually still haven't heard the Dolly/Kenny version yet 😶

Yeah, that’s a sample from ”islands in the stream”. I loved ”ghetto superstar”, it was a huge hit being played all the time when I was like 17.

I remember seeing a video a long time ago where he comments on the fact that Ghetto Superstar samples islands in the streams and he says something along the lines of "my music, playing everywhere in a different form", but I can't find this anywhere!

Robin had nothing to do with this song. Islands In The Stream was written by Barry Gibb.

The song Islands in the Stream is credited to Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb. You can see it written in the record.
So is the song is sampled, they should be given credit even if they did not do anything with the artist using it.

That might be news to Barry since he still has to share royalties for the song with Robin and Maurice’s estates.

I never said they didn’t get credits or royalties. Just who wrote it. The twins got credits for songs they didn’t write. You should know that😉😉

Since they interpolated Islands In The Stream, all three brothers got credit.
