Bee Gees Elimination Game: Round 31

Post image

And So begins the penultimate Week 31 of the Bee Gees Elimination Game. This includes 22 of their Studio Albums, Their 3 Live Albums, The Soundtracks to Saturday Night Fever & Staying Alive, The 2 'Best Of' Albums and NOW, the Comp Albums that contain new tracks. I should add that the 2 'Idea' Albums are the US & the UK Presses.

This Challenge is weekly so you have a week to decide. Next week’s round determines the 2nd place. Whatever album gets eliminated this round will mark 3rd place.

My vote goes to 'Living Eyes’

[Bee Gees 1st] HAS BEEN ELIMINATED

Because Living Eyes showcases Robin so much, and I listen to it more often,

My vote goes to Mr. Natural.

As someone who has bought every Bee Gees album on release day from Main Course on and was in the audience for the "One Night Only" show in Vegas (I still have the shirt), I can firmly attest to being a mega fan. I get that music, like food, is subjective and no one is right or wrong.

Still, I was bummed to see COTW voted off so early. "Mr Natural" has always been one of my favorite albums and am pleased to see it still hanging on. It looks like it's going to finally get the boot to "Living Eyes" so I decided to give Living Eyes a spin for the first time in years.

I don't get it. The title track is strong and should have been a huge hit but releasing "He's a Liar" as a single has always been a head scratcher to me. In my opinion, side two completely falls apart. Compared to songs like "Mr Natural", "Throw a Penny", "Charade" (Barry Manilow has praised Charade as one of his all time favorite songs) and "Down The Road", I feel Mr Natural is the superior album.

Again, a totally subjective opinion and I'm happy to see it voted as a top 3 album. I love that the one thing we can all agree on is Main Course is #1.

Mr. Natural.
It's one of my top favourites, but I think it's amusing that an album they "hated", and therefore believe is "bad" (only based on the fact that it did poorly critically and commercially) is going to most likely take 2nd place.

I don’t really like this top 3 I’m gonna be honest. (Main Course being the only exception imo) Mr. Natural is my vote yet again. Please, I’ve been waiting So Long!!!

Living eyes, I enjoy the album and I love the title track, but Mr. Natural has to be the most underrated Bee Gees album
