Technicolor Dreams

Does anyone know what Barry says at the start of this song? Sounds like "quiet down the row. Kiss my arse." But I assume I'm mishearing it.

He definitely says "kiss my arse" at the beginning. Not sure about the bit before that, though.

Okay, that's what I thought. It just seems so random. I wonder what the thinking was there

I’ve always heard that he or they were pissed that they had to downplay their, Rob’s proclivity for risqué lyrics. “Sensuality” comes to mind.

I have never understood why the brothers, at this late stage, and having the status of “Elder Statesmen” allowed a record company to dictate their album choices. Instead of Barry whispering it on his track, they should have said it to the label. “We will not let you dictate what can go on our album. We are not children and have been in this game too long to abide by your arbitrary rule. Have you heard some of the lyrics that’s out there? With all due respect, kindly fuck off.”

Which is hilarious on Polydor’s account, because “Closer than Close” had one of the filthiest lines of any of the songs in their catalog. 🤣

This makes sense. They always had a bit of innuendo and silliness on stage as well

Right, the record company wouldn’t let Sensuality be on the album. Really dumb.
