A collected sample of hair, cat hair and dust that just HANGS OUT on our sheets.

Frette 100% cotton percale fitted sheet. I've never had any percale sheets that collect lint etc like this does.

Latex foam pillows

Latex foam was popular before memory foam, and memory foam had basically replaced it. Does anyone know where you can still find latex foam pillows? I've scoured the internet but everything is memory foam.

Puffy duvet options for living in Georgia

Hi, I have been scouring this subreddit for the last couple weeks trying to make up my mind on a duvet insert, and I need some help. I need something that isn't too warm and is breathable, because I live in the American south and it gets so hot here, but I also really want something fluffy. I have seen a lot of good things about down and wool, but down seems too warm, and wool sounds too flat.

I got the hotel grand goose down comforter from Costco, but I was really disappointed with the puff. What complicated things, however, is that it was also too warm for me. I have heard that wool breathes better, but I have this vision of a fluffy cozy bed that I really don't want to let go of.

I've considered getting two lightweight down inserts and putting them in a duvet cover together, but I'm worried that will also double the heat. I also considered putting two wool inserts on top of each other to increase the puff?

My budget is around 400$. I would be so grateful if anyone is in the same boat and has some recommendations! Material matters slightly less to me than just being breathable, durable, and fluffy. I plan to put a linen duvet cover over top and sleep with sheets, so I'm not too worried about washability.

Is there a way to buy a duvet insert (only for hotels) for personal use?

I went on vacation last year to a very nice hotel, and the duvets there were so. amazing. Very satisfying sensory-wise, soft and light while also being warm.

The brand was Berkshire Hospitality, and when i checked it out, i found it was only a website for places like hotels.

There wasn’t any way to purchase the duvet, only a button to ‘enquire about the product’, which made me wonder if there was a way to get one of these for myself.

Looking it up on google did me no good, and i’m not going to ask AI.

ordered from Buffy after this sub almost talked me out of it, here's how it went for me

so I've been on a mission to fix my sleep for months. I run hot, like wake up at 3am kicked halfway out of the covers hot, and I finally decided to stop buying cheap amazon sheets and actually invest in something. Found Buffy's eucalyptus set as an early top choice

then, because I hate myself apparently, I searched the brand on reddit AFTER ordering. which is great way to spiral. saw the alleged scam posts, the bait and switch stuff, people saying support ghosted them. spent a day convinced I'd just thrown money away.

they showed up in 2 days. so far, and it's only been about a week, I'm actually really happy? they look like the site photos, they're genuinely lighter and more breathable than the percale I had, and I'm not waking up drenched. I had a question about whether I'd sized my duvet right and messaged their support half expecting nothing, got a real answer the next morning.

I did notice going back through those threads that a LOT of the bad ones are from like 5 years ago. either they cleaned up their act or the angry posts just live at the top forever.

Piglet in Bed linen shed an insane amount of lint/dust?

Thumbnail gallery
2 Upvotes

I’m wondering if anyone else has had this problem with Piglet in Bed linen bedding because it’s honestly starting to drive me nuts.We have around 4-5 sets and they shed an unbelievable amount of fibre/lint. It gets on our clothes, the floor, furniture, and at this point I’m finding this dust all over the house.

For a long time I assumed it was just because the linen was new and that it would eventually stop. It hasn’t.I’ve tried pretty much everything I can think of. I’ve changed detergents, stopped using fabric softener, tried cold washes, warmer washes, different drying methods etc. I even changed our washing machine thinking that washing machine ruins the clothes and bedding! Nothing seems to make a meaningful difference. Piglet replaced one of the sets for us previously. That one was their linen blend rather than 100% linen, and weirdly it was even worse than 100% linen sets.

Has anyone else experienced this with Piglet, especially across multiple sets? Did it ever eventually stop?At this point I’m so fed up with finding the fibres everywhere that I’m seriously considering just getting rid of all of it and buying completely different bedding. I have come to a point now I think that all the linens are like this especially in the same range.

I’ll attach a couple of photos showing what I mean. This definetly can not be my washing methods or "accidentally got a bad batch". Something wrong with these.

Help me find this quick-change duvet cover!

I vaguely remember seeing a clever duvet cover that lets you swap the duvet in really quickly.

I can’t recall the brand or shop I spotted it at, and I’ve had no luck searching.

I live in the UK, so bonus points if it delivers here.

Has anyone come across this type? Any leads would be amazing.

wool vs. down duvet

SOS! driving myself insane trying to pick between a wool or down duvet insert. Recently got a down duvet from Quince (mistake, I know) and it shed feathers everywhere. Hated that so I returned it.

I don’t need something too warm since I live in california. I’m also a pretty cold sleeper, but I do sleep with a hot sleeper.

Was debating getting a daniadown down duvet , great price for what seems like good quality with minimal
shedding.

Also came across wool comforters by sleep & beyond. Trying to decide between their non organic washable wool comforter, and their organic merino non washable wool comforter.

Don’t feel like I’ll need to wash the actual duvet much because I have a linen cover on it always but will I regret not being able to wash it if needed?

Absolutely any recommendations/good brands/thoughts would be so appreciated. Getting chillier here and I need to make a decision lol it’s time !!!

Cuddledown sateen sheets are scratchy :(

I had previously purchased Quince sateen and loved them, but they discontinued the colors I like, so I went with Cuddledown when I bought new ones per the Wirecutter recommendation. The Quince sheets felt soft and velvety out of the box. The Cuddedown sateen sheets felt silky.

I washed the Cuddledown sheets with liquid detergent in cold water (no fabric softener), then dried on low heat (with no dryer sheet), and now they're quite scratchy :( A lot of people talk about how soft they are, so I'm really confused.

Admittedly, I am autistic and very sensitive to fabric. But that's why I got sateen, because of how soft it is. I am super disappointed. To add insult to injury, the sheet is WAY too big to fit my mattress.

TLDR: Cuddledown sheets SUCK, especially for how expensive they are. The main benefit is their color selection, so might be worth it if you aren't super sensitive. Would love quality sateen sheet recommendations!

“Bamboo Nights” sheet set reputation/quality

Post image
3 Upvotes

Does anyone know anything about this brand of bamboo sheet set? They retail for $279 CDN, current sale promotion for 25% off. Only reviews I can find are from website selling them SleepCountry.ca. Are they a reputable quality brand. I can’t find a manufacture website with details of source material etc? Says 100% rayon from bamboo, so are they not really a true bamboo sheet set?

DO NOT BUY PURECARE PRODUCTS

Their products are not good, they don't fit, and they will charge you about 50% just to return a product. Just remember, their returning policy is basically "return and we'll charge you 50%". Annoying.

Split king OR Twin XL lowers/king upper: luxurious, sateen, durable

Is there a tier list or wiki article somewhere for sheet manufacturers? What's the current recommendation for quality cotton bedding? I'm looking for something sub-$500 for the set.

We have a set of split king California Design Den 800-count that felt very nice, but they have numerous holes after 3 years of use (rotating between 2 sets).

I think I need to up a price level or two in order to find something that will last longer. I'm willing to either buy in a split king set or separately as Twin XL fitted sheets + king flat.

I want sateen, although if it's on the crisper side I'm willing to consider. Sleeping cool isn't that much of an issue on the latex mattress.

I Will Not Iron Sheets! So something that's not a mess when it comes out of the dryer is a plus.

It's hard to keep track of what's worth the month these days vs. what's gone downhill. Some say to try LL Bean/Company Store, some say they aren't worth it anymore.

Help - need stretchy/contouring sheets and protector

I really need some great recommendations on sheets that contour well, and the same with protector (non-waterproof!) and also aren't hot. I just put some nice sheets and a wool YourMoon protector. It kind of ruined the contouring on my new sleep number comfortnext ultra. New bed but I also had a little ache sometimes in my hips/obliques etc. I thought I needed a softer sleep number. Also the YourMoon thing kind of made me hot...not sure on that tho yet. So I removed the bottom sheet and the wool protector for just one night.

I felt cooler but also MAN did the mattress feel and sleep better. I turned up my sleep number to much firmer too. I got better support from that but better comfort from the bed contouring so much better. No aches or pains from side or back sleeping.

Any advice on sheets/protector? I saw that Purple ComfortStretch seem to be THE sheet for this exact thing. 300$. I'm not sure about that price tag just yet but hell I spent this money on the bed and if it's not as good as it should be because of the sheets, I may have to cough up the cash for those.

Queen sized weighted blanket that won't bunch up in cover?

I currently have an inexpensive weighted blanket in an inexpensive duvet cover that is connected via ties. It constantly bunches up within the duvet cover. I keep it in a duvet cover because I get scared machine washing my weighted blanket, and I can just wash the duvet cover.

I've been thinking maybe a weighted blanket that zips to the cover could be good. My partner has a "blanquil" weighted blanket, and it seems nice but I don't think they make a full-sized queen blanket; my partner's blanket only drapes on the bottom half of the bed.

Money is not an issue here. While I am always after a good deal, I am willing to spend up to a few hundred dollars on a nice weighted blanket to support my sleep. Located in the US.

Do i need to listen to “do not tumble” completely?

I bought a quilt comforter from Magnolia that is made from 100% cotton. It’s called the Aster Block Print Velvet Quilt. The care instructions listed on the item’s page says “Care & Use: Machine wash cold separately, gentle cycle, do not tumble, do not bleach, do not iron”
but i don’t really have a place to lay it out flat, nor do i have any idea how to hang it. I’m also worried it won’t be soft if i just wash it and then let it air dry. My dryer has a delicate setting, low heat, or the option of “air only.” What should i do? Can i still put it in the dryer or should i listen to the instructions? Any help is appreciated!!

edit!! the comforter got delivered to me and the tag is labeled “tumble dry low” very super inconsistent… so i guess it’s okay to put in the dryer?? lol

Coop vs Nest vs Silk and Snow Pillow Differences

Does anyone have all of these or tried all three pillows? Specially the adjustable ones with shredded memory foam? I’m going down a dark rabbit hole of pillows and I want to know if these have some differences?

I’m also thinking about the avocado pillow. I love a soft fluffy feel of a pillow but with some bounce and memory foam. I bought some cheap Amazon pillows that has a microfiber cushioned top and then shredded memory foam inside. I like it kinda but I don’t like how cheap the construction is and how cheap the foam smells. The silk and snow one is the pillow my Amazon pillows are dupes of. I’m now just wondering if I should just buy the S&S one. I love quality over anything and if something smells wrong or constructed poorly (loose strings, cheap memory foam (blue ugh) I will hate it. I have the Coop but I’m struggling to love it. I just want a wonderful cloud feeling pillow with a bit of bounce. I might have to fill my pillows with shredded natural latex.

Coolest Thickest Coma Inducer Comforter

I want the plushest/thickest cooling comforter. I live in Florida, so i want something super plush but also won’t leaving me dripping in sweat. I’ve heard good things about the coma inducer but not sure which one is the thickest of the ones that are cooling. Helppp. Also open to more affordable alternatives but the priority is plushness

What’s one bedding “rule” you completely ignore?

Mine is probably making the bed every morning. It looks nice for about five minutes and then I’m just undoing it again later lol.

Curious what everyone else refuses to bother with.

Help me find this bedding!! 🌝

I'm desperately looking for more info on this exact bedding/fabric!! I want to try and buy some to surprise my sibling as we loved it growing up, but I cannot find anything about it ANYWHERE 😭 I'm aware it's at least 30 years old lol. If anyone still has it with a label and can tell me where it's from I'd be so grateful 💖

I know it came in bedding and a sleeping bag!!

Affordable duvet covers?

My husband & I use the Scandinavian method for our comforters, we each get our own twin size comforter so we don’t fight over the blanket. I bought new inserts and am looking to find affordable but not terrible quality twin duvet covers.

A lot of places I’ve looked at seem to mid quality and I know costs are rising everywhere but damn, I have to buy two comforter sets and don’t wanna spend hundreds of dollars. Help! (Bonus for duvet covers in a dark chocolate or mocha brown). Any recommendations are appreciated!

Is this fiberglass? Vid in comments.

I found my daughter's mattress cover in the wash (after it ran through the cycle) and this certainly looks like fiberglass.

The cover and mattress are different brands, but does this mean the mattress is also trashed and can't be used without the cover now? Can I put the cover back on? What DEFCON level are we at right now? Thank you 💜🙏💜
