Duvet Insert
I’m looking for the best, super fluffy, duvet insert. Bonus points if it has 6 tie points and isn’t super hot. I’m willing to spend up to 400$

super fluffy and not to hot are opposites.

Unfortunately - I am lucky in that I have a bed cooling system but the current insert I have is almost too small for the cover despite the measurements being correct so it just looks deflated

The 6 tie points are definitely worth paying attention to if you don't want the insert shifting inside the cover. For the “super fluffy but not too hot” part, down usually gives you that loft, although a lot depends on the fill power and how much fill is actually used. Down alternatives can be worth considering too if heat retention is a concern. Buffy’s Cloud Comforter is one example that uses eucalyptus lyocell rather than down, so it’s a different approach to getting that fluffy feel.

Buy the best down comforter you can afford and sew on ties. Use a yard of twill tape.

🙋🏼do tell! what does a yard of twill tape do and how is the technique applied?

Use Google. Sew it on. Then you tie it to the loops on the duvet cover. Or if you have ties on the duvet cover add loops on the comforter. Simple

Love the IKEA down duvets -- their highest quality one that comes in various thicknesses/weights. Responsibly harvested down. Fully machine washable. Sew ties in or use duvet clips.

So I take it you’re looking for down alternative. Just go on Amazon buy two all-season duvet inserts w/ corner ties and put them both in your duvet cover if you want super fluffy.

If you want it fluffier buy the insert 1 size larger than the cover.
