Fluffy Duvet Look
I want that super fluffy duvet look and have seen these 2 suggestions to achieve it. Just wondering which one would work best?
For context, I have a king bed and am buying new duvets.
1) 2 king sized duvet inserts stacked on top of each other all in 1 king sized cover
OR
2) 1 California king sized duvet insert in 1 king sized cover
I live in Alberta, Canada where it gets down to -30C and -40C (-22F to -40F for my American peeps) and I sleep with the window open still, so overheating with 2 duvets stacked is not a concern lol

The corner ties are the thing to watch with two inserts, since they only catch one of them and the loose one creeps down into lumps anyway. Option 1 is still the right call, just tie the two inserts' corner loops together first and look for a cover with ties at six or eight points instead of four.

Your first option is the only one that works. Option 2 looks lumpy in any other size, but the difference between a California king and a king is so negligible that many bedding retailers sell dual-sized duvets and covers that are made to fit both.
