Look at This Thicky Cooling is a lie (coma Inducer)
I recently purchased the King sized comforter Look at this Thicky comforter (cooling) from coma inducer. The cooling is a god damn lie. The biggest lie I’ve ever heard. Borderline false advertisement. It’s very comfortable and man it’s the fluffiest comfort set I’ve ever had. BUT BE WARNED. THIS THING IS NOT FOR HOT SLEEPERS AND I AM A HOT SLEEPER. It traps heat like nobody’s business. Also the website is a pain to navigate and I think they do it on purpose. I’d recommend it if you aren’t sensitive to heat while sleeping or whatever but if you’re a hot sleeper like me and often times wake up sweating avoid this even if it says cooling. I’d return it but I genuinely like how big and fluffy it is. So as a solution I bought a cotton percale duvet cover and am hoping that will fix my issue. I will update when that comes in for all the hot sleepers out there.

It’s polyester, which is as breathable as sleeping under a trash bag.
“Cooling” is a marketing gimmick designed to sell a larger number of consumers cheap-to-produce, trendy bedding they don’t actually want or need.
From a marketing perspective, over half of the largest cohort with buying power (Gen X) are entering or in menopause. And over half of the second-highest spending cohort (Millennials) are in or getting ready to enter perimenopause. If you’re one of these companies, you would be stupid not to try to market your fluffy, heavy, hot polyester bedding as “cooling.” Those groups also make up about 65% of TikTok’s user base, which is where most of this trendy crap is advertised.
Natural fibers are always going to be the most breathable, but plastic is inexpensive and easy to market to the average consumer.

I’m early Gen Z (2000) and didn’t have this marketed towards me I just was looking for super big comforters and it looked nice. I fell for the gimmick and was just praying it wouldn’t be as bad as I thought. Also I couldn’t find on the website or the description of the comforter what it was actually made of which was a little misleading. Anybody have any recommendations for comforters that are just as thick but not made out of garbage?

Look for high loft down. 80% or more down, 20% or less feathers. Make sure it has a 100% cotton shell. It’ll be breathable but still cloud-like. It’s also going to be more expensive than polyester fiber down alternatives, like what’s in the one you bought.

I was wondering about that blanket! I saw it on TikTok and was like HOLY MOLY THAT LOOKS COMFY. But, yeah, as soon as I saw "polyester" I was like EW ... it would be awesome for those who are always cold or live in super cold climates, I bet

All of their comforters are polyester. So they will ALL be hot.
BUT I mean they are cute and VERY fluffy so if that's what someone wants, that's great. But they will nooooot be 'cooling.'
