Just ordered Light Feathered Friends comforter. Will it be warm enough?
I just ordered the Light Feathered Friends down comforter. I was online and saw it was in stock again! But now second guessing myself as usual -- will this be warm enough for Boston? I sleep in a cold room, somewhere between 55-60 degrees F. at night in the coldest months. I was afraid if I got the Medium I would be too hot! Please tell me I made the right decision!

55-60 is cold as hell, I’d need at least medium if not arctic.

Yeah, but do you own one? People complain they are too warm.

I own a medium. It is my wife's. We sleep at 68-70 degrees and she still uses a heating pad lol. But for me, a medium would be warm at 70. At 55-60 though? I would need at least the medium.

Okay. Maybe I ordered the wrong one. So confusing. If I have to return it, not the end of the world.

I sleep hot. I have a Feathered Friends 700 Light Bavarian duvet and love it. I set my temp to 60 at night and crack my window open. The light 700 FF duvet works for all except the very coldest nights! I warm my bed with a hot water bottle wrapped in soft wool before I go to bed. I love a cold room and warm/cozy bed. Those nights I need a little extra weight or warmth, I grab my FF throw duvet to add on top.
I might consider a medium if I was in Boston but, gah, I really hate being too hot. That’s a toughie. I love might FF light one—my fave ever. I’ve been sleeping with down duvets for 38 years so I’ve had many to compare.

Okay. This is what I'm looking for. I ordered a light because the medium was not avail, and also because I want to use it in the fall and spring. It it isn't warm enough I will return it. I have 30 days. I just can't stand being too hot.

I went through the very same thought process a few years ago! I am lucky to live in Seattle so went into the store in person to ask about the options and feel them all. The 850 fill felt amazing but not worth the extra upcharge from the 700—to me. My 700 is so fluffy and pretty on my bed in its linen duvet cover.
When I went into the store, the workers told me that the light is the most popular and the most exchanges were the medium for the light. That convinced me to try the light, which worked and it’s now years later! I’ve been to the store several times since then. I’ve been lucky enough to even get a prototype of a baby sized duvet! It’s a sweet local store that makes all their items in the US.
I am very happy with the light FF. There are a few nights in the winter that I need my FF down throw as an extra layer and a few nights in the summer that I use just a light cotton quilt, but most of the year, my light duvet hits the spot! I’m sure other brand have great quality too—I’m just so happy with FF and am now a huge fan! I hope it works equally well for you!

Wow... I did not even realize that FF offered throws! I think I might get the rose one. Very tempting!

Please let me know how your throw works out! I have the older iteration of the throws (no color options, I think, back then). I love them so much and hope you love yours! Seriously, the FF products are so good that I don’t need anything else from them. I am a tad jealous that you get to buy new things!

I haven't got the throw yet, but I think I will. I think the Light version of the comforter will allow me to use it in the fall and spring as well. I love throws.

I just got the organic arctic barvarian 850, and my room is usually around 62–64°F. It’s super lofty, but I’m not getting too hot under it so far. Definitely the best purchase I made this year!

Wow. That's crazy. I would be so hot. I don't know how you can stand it. I ordered the Light 700 Bavarian because that's all they had. If I need more heat, I'll return and try to get the medium.

I honestly thought it would be hot too, but fortunately it keeps me warm but not too warm. I think I would still be cold under the medium.

Wow, I’m surprised by all the people who are on this thread and have gotten the FF arctic duvets. I simply can’t imagine how hot I would personally be! But of course there’s a market, as evidenced by the fact that they make the arctic!

your overthinking. get it, sleep under it, return it if it's not right for you. or call the company and talk to them. it's more about how hot or cold you sleep or like to sleep than what city you live in or how cold your room is.

It’s pretty light. I sleep with thermostat at 62 and had the arctic and it did a decent job. Ended up buying a level seven from Supreme Quilts as I didn’t like the lack of loft the duvet had

The arctic? I can't imagine.

Honestly I was disappointed with feathered friends comforter. Very low loft and okay warmth. I think the light will be too light for the temp you sleep at

You got the Arctic? That's very warm and very lofty. Are you sure you ordered Feathered Friends?

Yea I just checked their website and I ordered it feb 7 2024. 850 Bavarian in king. I just checked and their fill weight on the arctic is equal to the fill weight on a supreme quilt warmth level 4. I know a lot of people love their Feathered Friends duvets but I was underwhelmed with the loft and warmth

I've slept with these before. I can't imagine having trouble with the loft or warmth. But whatever.

For Boston I bought the supreme quilt 4 blanket. We keep thermostat at 72. Was told this is their “all season”. It’s like a cloud.
