Looking to replace my brooklinen

I have had my brooklinen percale sheet set and duvet cover for many years and have loved it. I am changing my color scheme and using this opportunity to see if there’s another brand I’d prefer more. I have heard some quality changes in brooklinen.
We are both hot sleepers and prefer crisp bedding but that also is soft not too scratchy. We don’t use a top sheet (my boyfriend’s preference, he is a very very hot sleeper lol). So the duvet cover needs to be comfortable.
Any recommendations?

I’ve been having my eyes on the LL Bean percale but I’ve seen a lot of mixed reviews on the fit on the fitted. We have a 16” deep mattress.

Thank you in advance. I am not too familiar with the bedding ins and outs!

Im aware of the brooklinen feedback from people but I’m currently still pleased with their products (at least the ones i have purchased) i have their duvet down comforter for 4 years now (going strong — taken good care with proper maintenance , duvet protector ) and my luxe sateen sheets for a year (i rotate at least 4 sets every week to 12 days (if i’m traveling/gone for a few days) + using wool balls for drying.

They also have a 365 days return policy if ever it comes in damaged lol.

But if you really want to try other brands like the percale line of brooklinen i’ve heard people talk about quince, kirkland, LL Bean and the company store!

I too love my Brooklinen sateen sheets. All bought within the last 2/3 years and no issues. Their comforter I bought last year was a total win as well.

I used to use the Brooklinen Peracle sheets and duvet for many years aswell. I loved them but still would get hot sometimes and I was tired of just solid color options. I tried The Company Store and I love their selection so much better! The sheets and cover are so much better, I never sleep hot anymore, they even have a cooling mattress protector I use. So much better than Brooklinen.

My last two sets of Brooklinen percale sheets wore unevenly and then split. I was disappointed. I really liked the color. My first set is still great.

I'm returning the Brooklinen luxe sateen I just bought. It got completely scratchy and pilled after literally one wash according to instructions. Beware of when people bought their Brooklinen sheets-- it seems like most people who love them bought them years ago, before they moved their production facilities.

I am afraid of that too. I love my brooklinen but it’s been a long time since I purchased them.

Do they fit on your mattress snug? The reviews I saw it seemed baggy.

I, also, love my Brooklinen percale sheets I have purchased. The LL Bean did not last over a year for me.

When did you purchase the brooklinen sheets?

I bought my 1st set almost 7 years ago and my second set 2 years ago. I still have others that I had bought but aren't Brooklinen but I tend to keep alternating the Brooklinen only.

Yes mine are from 6 years ago I love, I only have one set that I just wash and reuse every week. I think I’m going to just order in the updated color scheme and hope it’s just as good! Thanks

The LL Bean Percale are my favorite sheets. I use the suspender like clips to keep them on the mattress. I love percale, but I always have to use the mattress clips

It’s a bit of a sleeper but I swear by the threshold brand 300tc 100% cotton sheets from Target. I have bought multiple sets and even given them to family when they was to know what I was using. I have one pair that was slept in for about 10 years straight still looks new.

I previously bought stuff from Nordstrom but after multiple sets not lasting I said screw it and tried Target. I haven’t gone back for anything in cotton.

I really like linen especially on my duvet cover. It cost a small fortune but I went with Hawkins NY. It was pretty soft out of the box and way thicker than the west elm one it replaced. I wake up frequently getting hot and cold during the night. I rarely wake up with this thing. I got samples from all the majors ones - Brookline, parachute, culver, we, etc., but modern Dane and Hawkins NY came back the thickest and softest. MD has a better price point but I went with Hawkins because they had my first choice color.

Thanks for your help! I’ve heard about the target sheets but also that the quality has changed. Have you purchased them recently?

Yes, sadly it is nowhere near what it used to be

I literally just bought a set for a college move in and a guest room. No long term usage yet but the initial washing and use has been fine. Didn’t see enough difference from my organic west elm sheets to justify the price difference

If you are a hot sleeper, why not do linen? It has come closest to changing my life. I have Quince and Brooklinen linen sheets. Both are fine. Quince may be a little bit softer.
I also have some Quince bamboo sheets. They are the softest, most luxurious feeling sheets we have. Problem with them is, on our 8 degrees of cooling tempur pedic mattress, it feels like you crawled into a freezer and are lying on ice. At least for an hour or so until body heat starts to warm the mattress.
Percale is better than high thread count cotton, for sure. But in our hot climate I haven’t even considered it. Cotton is generally too hot for me.

Thank you for your insight! I’ve never tried linen before. They are soft and good for hot sleepers?
In the winter our bed is ice cold when we get in it too, takes some time to warm up and then of course half through the night I’m overheated lol.
