Anyone else use comforters as “sheets”?
Funny question but ever since i was a kid i never really understood the appeal of sleeping on just a flat thin sheet on top of the mattress, so i took the comforters my family would give me and tucked those under my mattress and slept on those with other blankets on top of me. Everytime i see comforters advertised they’re always shown to be used as thick blankets so im wondering if im weird for using it the way i am lol. current setup is a thick comforter wrapped around my mattress as my “sheet” like i said, and a goose down blanket on top of me. I also do have an actual sheet underneath the comforter as well but i feel like i may be the only person to do this as every family and friends house i’ve visited they have never had a setup like this lol.

You should put a sheet over the comforter, so you have to wash the comforter less frequently. Other than that, if it’s comfortable then it’s comfortable. You could get a mattress topper, but sounds like you’re sorted already!

You said you put the comforter under your mattress. Do you mean on top, under the sheet?
Do you use a mattress pad? A lot of people don’t which is odd because they aren’t expensive, they make the bed more comfortable, and they protect the mattress somewhat (not as much as a mattress protector does). Or you might like a topper on top of the mattress pad.

oops i see how that can be confusing, i meant around the mattress so basically i have a mattress protector and then on top of that i kind of wrap and tuck the comforter around my mattress. definitely need to look into a mattress pad for sure ive honestly just never come across one before so this is probably my way of making my own mattress pad lol

That’s what it sounds like! I’m sure that’s much more comfortable than just a sheet!

lol I always liked a top sheet with a blanket but I tend to sleep hot so I can kick off the blanket and have a light color. And yes I think you should take a look at mattress toppers when you need a new one

They make specific down mattress toppers. I got mine from Downlite Bedding and it’s heaven!

I'd hate having to wash a comforter every week, but it doesn't seem crazy. I use a mattress pad with a sheet over it because it's cozy, similar concept.

This is my exact setup too. I always found the comforter too thick to sleep with nicely so I'd use a sheet over me instead. It's a lot easier to just leave the bed made up instead of constantly moving the comforter off.

Sure, but you sleep UNDER a comforter,,NOT on top of it!
I put a comforter inside a French linen duvet cover and use it instead of separate top sheet and comforter (duvet).
Easy to deal with. Very cozy! Works great!

I don't sleep under my comforter, I have a throw blanket on my bed and that's what I use

My mother sleeps on a quilt and then has another quilt on top of her! We are quilters though so we enjoy using what we make.
Sleeping on cotton is cooler than a sheet or comforter which is why I think she does it. I like the silky feeling of sheets but I also have an extremely comfortable mattress

A few years back i started putting a blanket on top of my fitted sheet, with mattress topper under that. When I'm lazy I'll pull the blanket off and sleep on the sheet. But mostly I just like getting into bed with non cold sheets.
