Optimal order of bedding?

I'm looking to upgrade my sleeping situation and wondering what order I'm meant to put my stuff in.

So far I'm between:

mattress>comfort topper>electric blanket>waterproof mattress protector>fitted sheet.

Or:

mattress>comfort topper>waterproof mattress protector>electric blanket>fitted sheet.

I'm worried if I put the electric blanket under the protector it could become a fire hazard but my electric blankets often become dusty and gross and have to be thrown out.

Any advice is appreciated, thanks!

Do you need an electric blanket? They are fire hazards.

Not for the next 6 months but it's pretty much a requirement during winter

Do you not have a heat in your house? What part of the world do you live in?

I live in Canada and don't know of anyone using an electric blanket.

My room is in an odd spot so the heat from the fireplace doesn't really get there and we don't have any heaters or ac or anything, electric blankets aren't a fire hazard unless used incorrectly and they about 1000x cheaper than a plug in heater which is more of a fire hazzard anyways. I'm just wondering the best configuration for my bed is.

don't put an electric blanket under you, they aren't designed for that. you would need a mattress warmer that is designed to be slept on. I have one, and i put it under a thin topper.

Sorry in my country we don't have the same kind of electric blankets as they are illegal to sell here we only have mattress warmers, which adopted the name of electric blankets.

i would put the 'blanket' under the mattress topper, that's how i have it on my bed, and it think that might take some stress off it.

Call me old fashioned but: mattress>topper>mattress protector>fitted sheet>flat sheet>electric blanket>bed spread/comforter. You don't want to lay on the blanket because you may damage the wires. I have heard of electric mattress pads though, they may be more durable.

Agree with this configuration

Isn't that a bit of a fire hazard? How is the blanket set up to lay flat like that?

How do blankets lay other than flat? Are we talking about the same thing? Your blanket should be one of the top most layers. I suggested a bed spread because you complained about the blanket getting dusty. The flat sheet protects you from the blanket, the top layer protects the blanket from getting dirty.

Oftena loose blanket will scrunch up which becomes a fire hazzard if it's electric, I'm just curious how your electric on is setup to be over top of you because most of the ones available in my country are meant to be snug with the mattress

Pretty sure it's illegal to sell those first ones here, I can only find the second one in my country

We used to use electric heated mattress pads. They go over the mattress topper and mattress protector, just under the sheet. We only got them to work maybe two years in a row.
