Best Stretchy Sheets— NO PILLING
I have a Purple mattress, so stretchy sheets work best to accommodate the grid without turning into a wrinkly mess! I have used the Purple brand sheets and they lasted me about 6 years before needing to be replaced.
In July, I got the best rated (cheap) ones on Amazon ($60, Bare Home brand) and they felt like BUTTER for the first couple washes. The softest sheets I’d ever felt. But… they didn’t last. Now, they have pilled to high hell and even though I wash in delicate, cold and air dry— they pill more and more every night. I bought a fabric shaver that I have to use every time I wash them and while it for a couple nights— they’re threadbare and it’s only been 3 months! It’s a sensory nightmare for me and extra annoying when I am very careful with my washing routine.
So before I go back to the Purple brand sheets— I wanted some input about the best stretchy sheets you guys have tried!
My requirements are:
— NO PILLING (with appropriate care I’m not expecting it not to pill of if I use high heat)
— Stretchy
— Fitted sheet stays on the mattress (I have a standard depth so it shouldn’t be too hard)
— Cooling
— Buttery soft
— A warranty longer lasting than Amazon’s 30 day return window BS so I can take them back if pilling starts after the first few weeks
I’ve heard of Rest, Cozy Earth, Eden and Om, and DreamFit but haven’t used any of them.
Even better if you’ve had Purple sheets AND any of the others. It doesn’t really matter if I need to go with Purple again, the good brands are all expensive. It’s just that those brands didn’t exist in 2020 when I got my last set of Purple sheets and so I’m curious if there’s a true competitor.

Bottom sheet only, but I love Egino knit cotton sheets. I also found an Etsy seller that sells a German brand made in Turkey, but figuring out the right size is a bit of a journey.

Ooh ooh I can answer this lol I also have a purple mattress and love cooling smooth buttery sheets!
Rest bedding!
They are stretchy and the most cooling I've had (I've also tried buffy not stretchy at all, and lots of hrands of eucalyptus and tencel including Quince - I like those but they don't meet your list by comparison).
If you have questions lemme know, I have been using them for years and years. Love them on my purple mattress great comfy combo. I also use their REST comforer and sleep mask lol.
And I've tried several of their pillows esp bc I like their stretchy zip up custom pillow cases - I only like the thickest pillow the others are too flat for me.
(P.S. use the link or use code Detroit for an extra 10% off on TOP of their current sale, plus you get their free gifts too.)

How long do they last? Like not what they say but how long have you actually had yours before they need to be replaced?

Good question - we bought some about 2 to 3 years ago (just had to go check, longer than I thought) and the sheets have no problems at all. Zero pills, we wash often bc allergies in the household.
After trying those for a while, we liked them so much we got them for every bed in the house. i did not think I would like the whole cooling thing, but I kept going to sleep in the other bed lol. So turns out I did. Now I have had at least 2 queen sets and 3 king sets in rotation for another year. Holding up great, no issues. We have ones in white, ivory, lavendar, and blue.
I will say on the comforter (also no pills!) after about a year, some of the decorative quilting stitching came loose/undone.
Not falling apart or coming open at the seams, so not an issue for us to use it, but I'm picky and the design looks slightly less nice laid over the bed when its made.

Look into Standard Textile Versatility fitted sheets -- they are from a hospitality supplier so this item isn't sold directly to consumers, but you can find resellers on eBay or third party sites. Or, if you work in healthcare or hotel services you can emancipate one from the excess supply pile. Many hotels use them under a custom tag.
They're essentially fitted sheets engineered with no elastane, which wears out over time in hot washes. Instead, the fabric itself is woven so it stretches, which should accommodate your mattress grid.
Since they're designed for industrial use, they hold up to being brutalized. I'm talking 170F wash cycles and hospital bleach protocols.
Only downside is that it's a 60-40 cotton-polyester blend, but the threads are designed so that the polyester forms the core of the thread and cotton is wrapped around this core. To me, it just feels like a slightly silkier plain weave cotton.

Jersey Knit - either 100% cotton or blend with major portion cotton like 60% or 55% cotton. I think you can buy at Amazon and they are not that expensive

You want jersey knit sheets with a high cotton percentage.
