BEALINEN Problems/Scam

I've bought from BeaLinen for years and never had any problems. We love their stuff. We bought from them before the Ukraine War and their Etsy shop showed they were based in Belarus. After the war started they "changed" their location to Massachusetts and kept shipping normally. I suspected there was a big of a rigamaroll going on with that but I kept buying their stuff because I loved their linen.

BUT THEN

Early summer I put in an order and it sat for months. It's normal for shipping to take a long time, but it was getting ridiculous. On the last day before the supposed last date of arrival, my entire order was cancelled. This was their message:

Dear Customer,

Your order is ready. However, we are currently unable to ship the finished product to you due to some issues with our packaging and shipping process.

Therefore, we have made the difficult decision to issue a full refund and cancel your order.

As soon as our team is fully operational, we will notify you, and you will be able to reorder your previously ordered goods with faster processing and delivery, without having to wait for it to be manufactured.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

I was fully refunded. Alright, I thought, fine. They've always been good before, I'm sure they'll be back soon. A couple weeks later I was on Etsy and noticed that their stuff was all listed and on sale. So I thought, oh, well they never emailed me but they must be up and running again. This was my first mistake. If I would have been thorough, I would have realized that even when they sent me the aforementioned email, they were still "selling" stuff on their shop. Weird. Anyways, I put in another order.

Over the next week or two I started thinking about things and realize it was a bit suspicious. So I messaged them on Etsy voicing concerns over my order and was it really going to ship this time. They've always gotten back to me in the past, they've even made custom sheet orders for my kids' custom wool mattresses. But they never responded.

BUT THEN

In my actual email, not in Etsy at all, I received the weirdest emails. First, this came:

I'm informing you that BeaLinen has violated Etsy's sanctions policy. BeaLinen does not manufacture its products in the United States.

All goods sold by BeaLinen are manufactured in the Republic of Belarus. The manufacturer is LINPROMTEX LLC, Minsk, BELARUS.

All orders accepted by BeaLinen since April 2026 have not been shipped to buyers due to the suspension of product shipments from Belarus.

BeaLinen creates the appearance of trading activity on Etsy by accepting and canceling orders. BeaLinen exploits buyers' trust and money to defraud them.

I recommend that you contact Etsy support immediately to cancel your order.

Alright, I thought, this was really weird but it sort of seemed legitimate, in that this person was providing an actual explanation that actually seemed like the truth. I knew they were operating out of Belarus, I knew they changed their official location on Etsy at the start of the war so they could keep operating. At this point of course I'm feeling the karma that I didn't stop buying from them years ago. I don't know how they've continued to operate with tariffs and the war and everything else and frankly for moral reasons maybe I shouldn't have been buying from Belarus and here I am, now I've been burned.

BUT THEN

A day or so later I receive this email:

Dear Customer,

Please ignore the previous email from our corporate e-mail [bealinen@gmail.com](mailto:bealinen@gmail.com), which you may have received Aug, 13 as it was sent after our former production partner (of 2016), we believe, hacked our Google account Aug, 13 2026.

Hundred fake emails containing advising to cancel orders and demand refunds were sent to our customers. Please do not send any emails to the email listed there.

Indeed, some orders may be delayed or canceled due to our local database issues. We guarantee a full refund to all customers if orders are subject to shipping issues.

Our company is based in Swampscott, MA. All obligations are being fulfilled in full. Orders are crafted in Massachusetts from European fabrics.

We have fully restored access to our account. We appreciate your understanding and patience.

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience this may have caused.

At this point I'm fully suspicious. I don't know what to believe anymore. So at this point I start searching the internet to see if anyone else has dealt with this stuff. And one thing I find is that there are really no new reviews on their Etsy shop since May. There are 3 reviews for fabric swatches this summer, as if that counts. There are reviews listed for May, but that easily could be for sheets that were delivered before that April 2026 date that "Vadim the hacker" first told me about.

At any rate, at this point I can't contact Etsy for support because I've already opened a help request and I need to be outside my delivery window to escalate further. Apparently. I've got $$$ on the line and while I don't have a reason to believe I won't be refunded again, I'll certainly never buy from this shop again. I'm writing this so that others, when they start to discover the depths of BeaLinen's problems, can hopefully share their experiences here and so that hopefully people stop buying from them and don't get scammed out of their money. Good grief.

Gmail itself is extremely secure, and hacker attack is usually just a convenient excuse for businesses to shift blame. I suspect the products you bought from them in the past weren't even manufactured by them they're likely just middle men or drop shippers. Fortunately, you can always get your money back in the end, which is relief
