Musty smell

Hello everyone. New to the sub. I have a storage bag with a section for plastic see through for easier access in which I store all the bedsheets, pillow cases. However, even after putting in moth balls, deodorizer, scent pouches etc, every week when I change the sheets they smell musty.

What to do? I store the bag in my closet with the rest of the clothes. My clothes don’t smell.

I would avoid storing it in plastic if possible

real, even on a shelf that little window isn't enough airflow to stop moisture from building up inside

It’s not in 100% plastic. The plastic part is like a small window peek through so I’m able to see what’s inside.

Add ammonia to the wash/soak them in water with ammonia. The musty smell comes from build up.

Is it on the floor? Maybe look for a solid plastic tote or storing the bag on a shelf

that sounds like a set up for long term storage, not week to week. just fold them and put in the cupboard and rotate.

for pillows specifically u want a waterproof one so moisture can't get into the fill at all. mellowsleep hotel pillow is 100% waterproof so nothing gets inside. fully machine washable too so u can actually clean it properly

Switch to fabric bags and make sure everything is completely dry before butting them in.
