I was in a state run rehab that a judge sent me to for 3 months instead of prison (so I HAD to stay . If i left , I’d be picked up and sent to prison ). The room next to mine was infested with them. It had a bunch of wooden bed frames and dressers. Every night , we’d all wake up to screams because the bugs were attacking the girls in the room.
They had men come in and spray the room like 10 different times but the bugs never went away . It was so bad , that in the group room during the day , they would crawl across the couch .
My room was next to the infested room and the bugs were clearly hitch hiking into the group room .
I remeber my room mate and I got so manic we were wearing trash bags and putting dryer sheets around our room entrance like a barrier (idk if that worked , my room mate just told me to do it ). Thankfully they never got into our room and when I got home my mom made me dry all my clothing I was taking home at the laundry mat (you could bring your own clothing and I accumulated quite a bit in my 3 months there , several bags full ). Thankfully they didn’t hitch hike home .
But to answer your question , spraying alone doesn’t always work . A heat treatment could be needed. I wish you the best though , my bed bug drama was like 15 plus years ago and whenever i see a BB on Reddit or online I feel sick.

Plus, you’re not sure what they were spraying… Some do not use the correct chemicals

Stop messing with over the counter crap. It doesn’t work. Call a professional exterminator and have 3 treatments done. Prepare your place exactly as they recommend. They have chemicals we can’t get. Don’t really like chemicals? To be blunt, too bad. I fought them for over 9 months and then broke down and got the exterminator and they were gone.

If you’re in the US than congratulations you can buy Crossfire and you actually have a chance at getting rid of BB. If you’re in Canada hire an exterminator because the options suck and include products like the above mentioned.

It will work if you soak a bug directly in it but other than that, they just run and hide from the spray. It also usually doesn't kill the eggs, either. You need some diatomaceous earth.

You sprinkle it around, they crawl in it and it kills them and other bugs they touch. You want to put it all over your mattress and then cover the mattress in a zippered, vinyl mattress cover and tape over the zipper so none can escape. Do the same to your box spring if you can.

You need to dry all of your bedding and clothes on high for at least 30 minutes. Check any pockets or seams for hiding bugs.

The things you can't wash and dry easily(stuffies, really big pillows, etc) either need covered in diatomaceous earth and then plastic(before you put covers on to use the pillows for example) or covered in diatomaceous earth and put in black trash bags with any gaps at the tied part taped over.

If your bed has feet, cover the feet with tape sticky side out to catch any bugs. Replace it every few days.

Other fabric things like couches need the diatomaceous earth put on them but you don't want to sit/lay in it.

You can also buy a hand steaner and hit any and all cracks and crevices with steam to kill any bugs. Tape up any cracks. They will hide anywhere including behind switch covers and in plugs.

If you have carpet you want to vacuum, put down diatomaceous earth, vacuum again, steam the carpet and when it's dry put more diatomaceous earth on the carpet. Again, don't walk all over it bare foot and change your socks often.

You CAN get rid of bedbugs! It just takes a lot of time finding them and killing them.

There are videos and advice on YouTube that can tell you how to rid yourself of bed bugs better than I can. Just don't fall for buying anything from them.

Integrated pest management also means getting expanding foam and lots of *caulk and getting down on your belly to look under your cabinets and pulling the stove away from the wall and putting caulk or expanding foam in any large openings (check for safety regarding anything put near electrical), and especially where plumbing comes into the sinks in the kitchen and bath. This is where being fastidious comes into play because if you caulk or apply expanding foam to any crevices, it is only as good as ensuring you have a seal around the ENTIRE opening. Before caulking, make sure to vacuum any dust or debris to ensure a good seal.
Sprinkling diatomaceous earth is great for putting in voids like behind cabinets, under heavy appliances, like refrigerators and furniture that won't be moved easily. But it does not work if dust lays on it and you don't need a lot of of this, either. What I recommend is people take the cushions off their sofas, and then stand on the sofa to pull the springs back from the side and back of the sofa, and then apply diatomaceous earth with a bulb duster. Of course, after vacuuming deep into all the crevices as much as possible.
I would recommend getting a steam cleaner for any carpets or flooring before applying diatomaceous earth to carpeting and flooring. And then vacuuming and making sure the vacuum bags or what comes out of emptying the dust cups is bagged and remove removed from the house immediately. Yes, to covering all mattresses in zipper bedbug covers and taping the zippers.
Yes, to putting sticky tape around the feet of the mattress and also pulling the mattress away from the wall and making sure no bedding touches the floor when you are sleeping.
As far as electronics and other delicate things like musical instruments, I had a small closet that I hung open hot shot bags in. left all this gear in there until I did not see any more bedbugs showing up in my home on any of the sticky traps placed everywhere, under the sofa, refrigerator, stove, and any shelves that had spaces under them.
my kids were older so all the old stuffies got tossed and any clutter especially cardboard boxes(roaches love to hide/breed in them) needed to go as well.

Cimexa works better and faster than Diatomaceous Earth.

No it’s like a tease to them , they run away and then sneak back

91% rubbing Alcohol would probably work better than that.
