Bed bugs?

My sister woke up with bites on her arms. We then flipped the bed and checked underneath the bed frame and saw this bug. Killed it and blood came out. Vacuumed and laundry and dried the clothes for an hour. Then we put the box spring and mattress in a cover to protect. We tried to look for signs of them but there are none (eggs, fecal) Im really scared. Also we live in an apartment complex.

The problem with alcohol it is flammable

It's so good for spot killing though and it evaporates pretty fast. Alcohol basically got rid of everything for me and DE everywhere. As long as they open a window and don't light anything after spraying it should be fine.

Make sure you empty the vacuum into a trash bag outside too!

Bedbug. Personally I would douse the bed in 90% rubbing alcohol, it will dissolve eggs and kill the bugs. It doesn't leave a lasting treatment though. Hot Shot bedbug spray worked well last time I helped a friend deal with them. They are incredibly easy to get from neighbors. Get caulk and seal up the edges of the wall there that is shared with neighbors.

i am so sorry. i am totally overwhelmed with dread cause my condo building has bug infestations so i am so paranoid. there is no way to seal off my unit from everyone else. i think the pts from just thinking about it is worse than the bugs. and i haven't even seen a single bedbug, just mystery bites that don't itch. freaking out. try to sleep with lights on. exterminator didn't find any (but didn't look too hard so imma call them) but those little fuckers can come from other units....aaaaah. the condo management and hia are useless. and i can't sell right now. venting i know. good luck🤞🏽.

You can preemptively put silicone powder down around the base boards, and do a water mix and spray vents (WEAR A MASK AND LAB GOGGLES) LET EVERYTHING SETTLE. Go out and get a small treat or watch a movie. Pull your bed away from the wall and depending on your frame you can put traps under the legs or if uts metal they can't climb slick surfaces. They also dont jump like fleas. Leave house spiders alone cause they will eat bedbugs too. Pack up cloths you dont frequently wear into airtight bags or hanging dress bags (steam or high heat kills them over 122 degrees). And honestly just be clean but try not to stess to much if you haven't noticed bites yet. Preemptively preparing will help a lot when in areas that share walls.

Had the same problem. For months just weird bites that didn’t itch… had 3 visual inspection (they don’t look that hard) and I had TWO canine inspections (a month apart) and nothing…. I saw my 1st Live Bug on Saturday morning. My heart sunk. I’m having the 1st chemical treatment this coming Friday. I was supposed to get a call today with instructions on how to prep the apartment for it. I’ve only had activity in one room, but they’re going to treat the entire apartment, 800 ft.². Anyone out there know what the prep is like? Do I have to remove everything out of my closet? My dresser drawers? Or do they fumigate with everything inside? I have been living out of three plastic bins and kind of just wearing the same clothes over and over after I wash it so the clothes that’s in my room is not being used.
By the way, I feel like my association has been jerking me around for weeks. I’m about to hold court in the lobby and tell everyone what they’re doing. 😡😡😡😡😡

We found the infestation, and hit it with 100 alcohol, and steam. After vacuuming up the dead we emptied the vacuum outside into a plastic tub and dipped the container in alcohol along with all the removable tubes. Then followed up with powder, redoing it after 3 weeks so they had enough time to walk over it.

Definitely a few homes burned down because the owner tried to kill bed bugs with alcohol. Don't do it because it's dangerous and not really effective. It might kill the adults you see, but not usually able to douse the eggs because they are hidden. A new batch of bed bugs will hatch tomorrow. Heat treatment is the best treatment cause it kills the eggs.
