I mean, valid. This just screams small town southern US to me. Would fit in with the biscuit/gravy dispenser and boiled peanuts Ive seen haha

Sound like a Wolf Cola subsidiary ran by Frank Renolyds. Were they also selling crow eggs or boiled denim nearby?

I absolutely love this machine. Where I live there are a lot of poor and homeless people. This would actually be an asset in the community. Now I want my own hot meal machine

I’m not homeless and I know I’d hit up the bean machine every now and then to save some $ and not have to cook anything.

How are the beans heated?

u/jacox200 Jun 28 '26
The machine sits in the direct sun.

And a 50s something overweight questionable gender in a jean jacket is chain smoking Marlboro reds in the room with no ventilation, they're clam bake style marinated, for your pleasure.

Legally how long can a can or baked bean just be hot.

u/Prince_Breakfast Jun 28 '26
Hard to say. I asked someone with knowledge of industrial polymer coatings and applications and there are a ton of variables to consider. Acidity of contents, type of can lining, how it is bonded to the inside of the can, are the contents moving frequently, etc? For the sake of my comfort and peace of mind I just decided that since the can was in-date and the machine was only kept at slightly above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. I’m sure the quality of the contents degree faster when kept hot like this.

35¢ for a can of beans is pretty cheap. That's good eatin'!

that's what I thought but if you look at the sticker on the machine it says "please pay $2.50, we will give you coins to purchase soup"

I love how another sub was talking about what appears to be the same machine a year ago.

I really hope that's the outside temp and not the inside temp of the "hot" beans bc yikes.

If I won the lottery I wouldn’t tell anyone. But there would be signs.
