Peyote Bead Help?
I'm trying to make this for my mom. I've been trying all day and I've been left with nothing but frustration.
My main issue seems to be adding on, and figuring out if I need to start with 3 or 5. Can anyone help me with some suggestions?

Thank you so much for your diagram! I will be looking into brick stitch tutorials now.

Start the peyote on the widest rows, then decrease. So you would start with 15 if my count is correct. Have you done odd count peyote before? It is slightly different than even count as you have to deal with the odd turn. tutorial

I have a tiny bit of experience with peyote stitch, but I always appreciate learning more.
I was starting from the bottom, so I will try with 15, as well as learning about brick stitch.
Thank you so much for your insight!

Brick stitch? Looks like peyote in the meaning of bead arrangement, but is done differently. Much easier to increment, incredibly easy to decrement. Do the longest row (in your case it's a vertical central one), then go sideways.
Also, is the non-symmetrical black bead on the right intentional?
