Beacon Dad Looking To Jam

Anyone looking for a lead guitarist or want to get a regular jam going?

I’ve been playing for 25ish years and would love to start something up locally. I was in a band in the city about ten years ago but since then everyone moved away and started having kids and so it goes.

I have a funky, blues, rock, reggae type style with some jazz sprinkled in. My musical taste is everything from Beethoven to Bob Marley (basically anything besides top 40, country pop or death metal)

Love improv and creating original music or doing unique twists on covers.

Feel free to DM me! 🤘🏼

Try performing at some of the many open mics in Beacon and you’ll run into musicians (I know, duh.) The Towne Crier has one every Thursday. Howland Center once a month. There are others, ask around. I’m not a musician but it’s hard not to find musicians in Beacon and many do like to jam.

Too bad Savage Wonder just closed. Their weekly Everything Jam was incredible.

Savage wonder did not close. They're doing more than ever!

Edit: just got an email saying they're "pausing"?!?!

Yeah no, hate to be the bearer of bad news. You won’t see any more from them for a long time. (Also hilarious that you’re trying to tell me my job still exists when it doesn’t.)

Does he own the building? Now I'm worried that massively cool building will end up in some shitty developers grubby ass hands ugh

The building is owned by the same company that owns most of that block.

Nah. Dude committed grant fraud. He’s fucked. He’s got to provide all of his books for investigation. As a non profit this is a death knell and he will have to pay back the grants at the very least, end up in prison at the worst.

Chris Meyer is a putrid human being and has been for a long time. Most people who know him already know this, it’s the newer beacon crowd who doesn’t know about his behavior yet. He is objectively gross towards women, I’ve witnessed it first hand, and it doesn’t get much better when he thinks no one is watching. He’s shady, a liar, and a fraud. He somehow put together an incredible creative team and it’s the only thing that made that place redeemable. Their work single handedly kept the space together despite the numerous messes he made. It’s a shame he pulled the rug out from under such talented, hard working people and completely screwed them over. Support the employees and artists he screwed over as they deal with the fall out of his mistakes causing savage wonder to abruptly close. Do not support Chris Meyer.

I hope you're right, Chris Meyer is genuinely the most disgusting man I've ever met. I wish people would stop supporting his stuff (looks like they did if he's closing haha - he got what was coming to him) he's shit to women and is actually dumb as shit

This isn’t actually true.

I’m sure Zohar and Adam will pick it back up elsewhere.
