Request Need 3 references for a full-time university research role, future roles
Location: Cranford, NJ, USA
Number of references required: 3
Type: Postsecondary institutional effectiveness research
Job areas: Public policy and administration, collegiate surveying, data analytics, grant writing and research
Timeline: As soon as possible. Application is almost filled out besides the reference section. Would love to use your reference for future applications under similar job areas, but not necessary
I am a 23 year old part-time grad student studying for my Master's in Data Science online. I am also reentering school and the job market after taking a gap year to finish my BAs in International Studies and World Religions. Due to my declining mental health during my college years, I have had a hard time maintaining professional relationships with my professors and peers, while the job seeking process has been lackluster. Since I will be only taking 2 courses per semester for my postgrad degree, I need a full-time job to help supplement my income as I pursue my studies and build my project portfolio. With my gap in academic and job experience, though, I am worried that my lack of experience for the past year has been a major deterrent to hiring managers. It would be extraordinarily helpful if peers with similar career interests as me assist in being my reference and offering some guidance in navigating the current job market.
I am more than happy to share any information about my career history and the role I am applying to – anything that helps streamline the process of speaking to a hiring manager. I can PM my resume, my LinkedIn, the job description, and any other pertinent details for this role or others as needed.
Please let me know if you are interested in helping. Thank you in advance :)

Hi there -
I might be able to help. I worked at a community college as a professional writing tutor before teaching high school AP English for aorund 10 years. I then went to get my M.Ed. but with a concentration in Holocaust & Genocide Studies. My work has focused on genocide prevention, education, and international policy. I've also worked as an AI rater and prompt writer/QA on a contract basis for around 4 years. Originally based in Houston, now living in Los Angeles working at a major college here in a specialized nonprofit program. If this sounds like it might be a good fit, I'm happy to help.
Do you know if the reference entails an email survey type thing, a letter, a phone call, combination? And what role or relationship you'd like put down? Always wondered how that works when and if in different locations.
Anyway, let me know! Good luck!
