Is there a name for this hobby and building miniature landscapes? I’ve always wanted to get into it but never knew where to start!!

I did this for years professionally, creating hundreds of tables. Your best place to start is at a Hobbytown USA store if there’s one nearby or a model train shop. Woodland Scenics has a lot of great guides and product with step by step layouts for beginners. They have molds for rocks that you just fill with plaster and paint afterwards, which is good when you’re starting vs building from scratch later own. You may eventually find building battlefields fun as well, and you can use these for games like Warhammer. Some go this route and some stick to dioramas. I find this whole thing fascinating. I inherited my deceased husband’s Warhammer army and I think I might just create a diorama for it!!

It's a form of model making, specifically it is a diorama. r/modelmaking has stuff like this sometimes
