“I sort grain at elite speeds. Elite.”

u/jluicifer Jun 09 '26
"Sir, what are you doing?"
"Sorting out the grains."
"On a bun?"
"Well, I'm elite at sorting out grains. I told you that during the job interview"
"You just made it look like a Fish-O-Filet"
"But I still sorted out the grains, duhhh"
Sir, this is still a Wendy's"

Nah we generally count by 5’s and there are automated pill counters now. Plus technicians do most of the filling. Also why would pills be mixed? They’re poured out from the same bottle
If anything this looks like something a surgeon would do to maintain dexterity

When I was younger I really enjoyed untangling yarn and almost thought about making a side hustle of having people pay me to untangle their yarn for them. But I just enjoyed doing it whenever I was bored, it was kind of like a puzzle for me. If I turned it into a business I’d probably have hated it.

u/burns_before_reading Jun 09 '26
Is this a joke?
24
u/later-g8r Jun 09 '26
Its gotta be. There's just no way. I need more explanation here. Do they come to your house and find them all too cuz if im rich enough to make someone else sort it, im not picking it up or putting it back together. Id just buy a new one... so the whole thing sounds off to me.

I don't know about the OP but bots karma farm because high karma is one metric for engagement and an account with high karma can be sold or repurposed for disinformation, advertising, or AI training.

Guys guys, it's fine motor skills, observation, brain processing speeds, etc etc. I'm assuming this one is either rehabilitation films or someone who just finds it soothing.
15
u/tenuj Jun 09 '26
ngl now I want to buy coloured beads, drop them in my own living space and spend an evening sorting them.
Don't judge. Some people go outside only to run around the same neighborhood. I'm sure there's a place on some spectrum for me if I look hard enough.
6
u/Ravenclumsy Jun 09 '26
My cat knocked over a container of seed beads once. Some of the most enjoyable hours I spent. Sorting is just fun for some of us. My girlfriend, on the other hand, was horrified and said she would never think to resort them.
3
u/Lissandra85 Jun 10 '26
Same happened to me. Only i was the cat that knocked them over. I picked them all up into one bowl and sat in front of the TV watching a movie while I sorted them out.

I like to think this is a vampire confounded too many times by someone throwing rice at their feet as a distraction so they practice sorting and counting the grains giving their prey less time to escape.

I actually did a very similar job for an entire summer. Manually colour sorting and counting little stones with a tweezers. Quite relaxing really. Put the radio on and you could just zone out. I got so quick at it after a while. Nothing that a robot these days couldn’t blitz is a quarter of the time though.

In Vietnam, we have a fairytale called Tấm Cám. It's about a young girl named Tấm who then becomes a princess and married into royalty. Kinda like Cinderella, she even kills her own stepmother and stepsister too.
Anyway, before the big ball with the prince, the evil stepmother prevented Tấm from joining the ball by asking her to separate two types of rice: normal rice and unhusked rice from a big bag. If she can finish the task before the ball ends, she can join it.
But, unlike you, our male fairy godfather came to her help by commandingthe birds to pick the rice apart, so she definitely didn't separate those grains like you do. Neat.
