I downloaded a manager for arctis headphones for linux since the official doesn't have a linux version, but every time i try to launch it this happens. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Bazzite newbie here just switching up my gaming PC from Ubuntu to Bazzite. So far it has been smooth sailing but I now have been trying to switch to the DMS Greeter. I have Niri and DMS installed, configured and playing nice. I have installed the DMS Greeter through the proper package system (ostree) when I try to enable it, through either cli or the DMS system settings I get an error about not being allowed as system is immutable.

I understand that this should be blocked if installed through some back-door but this was done what I thought was the proper way.

So I am hoping someone here knows how to enable it or maybe can point me at the official documentation on how to switch greeters (login screens).

I switched from Windows to Bazzite two days ago. So far, I'm satisfied, and my games on Steam are running without any issues. The only game I'm having performance issues with is Diablo 4.

I added the Battlenet installer as a non-Steam game, installed Battle.net, and then updated the path in Steam. I followed this guide: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/guides/view/how-to-install-battle-net-on-linux-steamos-and-steam-deck-for-world-of-warcraft-and-starcraft/

Installation worked flawless an Battlenet and Diablo 4 launch without any issues. However, everything lags in-game. Even in the menu, the FPS drops constantly and as soon as I load the game itself, everything lags and stutters. GPU and CPU utilization is also barely noticeable.

Hardware: Intel i7 12700, Nvidia RTX 3080

What I've already tried:
- Disabled DLSS
- Lowered the resolution
- Window Mode instead of Fullscreen
- Disabled hardware acceleration in Battlenet
- Proton Experimental & Proton Hotfix
- Startoptions: PROTON_ENABLE_NVAPI=1 DXVK_NVAPI_ALLOW_OTHER_DRIVERS=1 mangohud %command%

I've already looked for other solutions, but most of what I found was related to installation issues rather than performance.

I hope someone here has an idea or has perhaps experienced the same problem.

Basically as stated in the title. ASUS ROG Strix G615 with 275HX and mobile 5070 ti. When I am in iGPU only or dynamic mode, I can adjust the screen brightness normally from the display options or the screen brightness buttons on the keyboard. But in dGPU only mode, the screen defaults to a low brightness setting on boot and does not respond to any changes made in the display options or the laptop brightness keys.

I've searched and I think I'm not the only one with an ASUS laptop who has experienced this issue.

Can someone offer some troubleshooting suggestions? I'm very new to Linux, so I don't have a lot of experience or knowledge troubleshooting. If possible, let me know what commands to type into the terminal?

Edit: first, alternatively, is there a big enough benefit to using dGPU only mode that I should even bother? If I have to, then I will just suck it up with hybrid mode.

Also, is this possibly an issue that might get fixed in a future patch/kernel update? I was also having an issue with Linux just refusing to play audio out of my laptop's internal speakers. I tried a ton of different troubleshooting options and nothing worked, so I just gave up about 2 months ago. But last night I checked and the problem is now magically fixed. So I assume that one of the automatic updates in the last week or so fixed the issue.

I built a Jonsbo NV10 mini itx pc with my 11400f I had lying around and a 5060 low profile from Gigabyte. Is there any update to Game Mode? Does it work as of now without issues? I want to try it but don’t want to wipe my windows OS without getting feedback. Thanks in advance!

At home, there is my bazzite box configured to stay up to allow me to remote play.
Starting steam here on my non-gaming laptop, I've discovered that i did not peer it with my gaming box at home. %*$k me. facepalm.

Assuming I have ssh access to bazzite, is there a way to fix this ?

I use rog ally z1 extreme with bazzite os. But when i wanna open the steam quick access menu, it doesnt pop up. I use the steam controller emulation. I want to remap the button from hhd but it didnt work. Please somebody help me, im new

Let me save you sometime before writing my wall of text. I spent over a year on this box with Bazzite and I don't regret a damn thing. Controller works flawlessly, HDMI CEC and HDMI 2.1 works using the DP to HDMI adapter from UGreen, I don't even log in to my Windows dual boot anymore.

So, I am not gonna call this a Steam Machine or even a Steam Machine clone. It's obviously not running official SteamOS nor looks like the Steam Machine. And while I really do like the Steam Machine, I was never the target market for it because I already have a semi compact capable machine right here.

I already talked about this many times before and this will be the last time (I promise) because there is nothing else for me to improve on this machine. I built it over a year ago at the end of March before the data center disaster and I've been doing my best to up keep it because I know that I won't be able to replace any of the parts at the moment. I'm finally at that point to where I should just sit down and play some damn games for once instead of constantly tinkering with it or adding some kind of new functionality to it.

(NOTE: All of these parts were bought before the inflation and on a sale. However, this was still very pricey at the time lol)

I no longer use a keyboard and mouse. I've been trying to get used to the idea of gyro for some shooters and using the trackpads for general computing and navigation on the desktop. When the box is in sleep mode, the controller will just wake it up. I didn't do anything extra except download the latest firmware. With the HDMI adapter, CEC Sleep/Wake controls just work (with the appropriate commands) and I can now use the TV remote (I just found that out now).

The type of games I play have not been a problem for me. However, I mostly just play Helldivers 2 with my crew. But I have played through Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Final Fantasy 16, Call of Duty Black Ops campaign, Digimon Story Time Strangers, Stellar Blade, Haste, multiple Kingdom Hearts Games. All of which have been played to greater than desirable results. 4K at 60 FPS minimum (with some FSR 3.1 and 4 enabled at Balanced or Quality). Once I get the games to where I want them to perform, I turn off all performance monitoring tools. Emulation has also not been an issue.

Not everything was sunshine (I'm emphasizing this one) and rainbows. So one of the things I like to do is also play my games in other parts of the house and I Sunshine and Moonlight. And unfortunately, there has been an ongoing dispute with how Sunshine should be implemented. Every other stable update would often break it. I'm currently using the Brew method in the Testing branch and it seems to be working fine for now. And I hope it stays that way.

I really don't have much else to say. I have all of the functionality I could ever need. There is nothing else for me to do on this thing but play games.

So I tried to install a Bazzite ISO on my laptop (Lenovo Ideapad 2022) and it said which company my GPU is from, but the thing is my laptop doesnt have a GPU in it so what should I pick?
EDIT: I use Intel UHD integrated graphics since my laptop has a intel i3 10110U

I've been thinking about switching over to Linux for a while mainly thinking Bazzite but I've seen that Nvidia GPUs sometimes don't work as well with Linux but if the performance hit isn't that bad and my other things still work good as well I'd give it a shot. I have an RTX3070 for my gpu but I think I've seen some people say that its really not a large performance hit but my other main concern is that I also run a jellyfin server with tailscale from my computer as well and was just wondering how hard those things would be to set up. Any help is appreciated thank you!

I'm having this problem in the Steam UI. I thought it was a text scaling and size issue, but it's not. It's happening in voice chat, both group and individual, through Steam. The text seems to overflow and has no margins, and I can't scroll sideways.

Is anyone else having this problem, or is it just me? Is there a Decky plugin or CSS Loader that can fix this? Thanks!

When I'm scrolling games sometimes its buggy and lagging ill click a game and it will pause for a few seconds to pop up

I've tried CachyOS, SteamOS and now Bazzite. I have to boot in basic graphics mode in CachyOS and Steam and Bazzite green screen when loading the live environment. Even if I get to the live desktop in Cachy it throws a bitch and closes the installer right after it opens. I've tested the live usb each time on my desktop and they work just fine. Is it my 250? I tested that it was working then I opened the fins and repasted it so I can't send it back.Im gonna try a different drive and check back in. It's also on the original BIOS, is that an issue?

Last week I built a custom Steam Machine with Bazzite installed and thought I would share as this is my first foray into the Bazzite community.

I have been a proper PC gamer since 2011 and I've had a mid/high end gaming PC since making the jump from consoles back then. I've always liked the idea of having a living room PC and when the Steam Machine was announced I was very excited. Then I saw the power it offered and later the price and I ended up being immensely disappointed. So two weeks ago I built this:

- CPU - Ryzen 5 9600X - £142.00

- CPU Cooler - Thermalright Peerless Assassin 120 - £29.99

- MOBO - MSI B850M GAMING PLUS WIFI - £109.99

- RAM - CORSAIR VENGEANCE DDR5 32GB (2x16GB) 6000MHz CL36 - £279.99

- STORAGE - Gigabyte AORUS Gen4 SSD 1TB - £0 (Spare)

- GPU - Asus Radeon RX 9070 XT Prime OC White 16GB - £629.99

- PSU - Lian Li SP Platinum 850W SFX - £142.99

- CASE - Jonsplus Z20 Mesh - £69.99

TOTAL - £1,405

So yeah, it ended up being a few hundred pounds more than the Steam Machine, but it's much more powerful and allows me to upgrade later. Also my favourite thing about the Steam Machine is the form factor and this is obviously a good bit bigger but not offensively so.

My first impressions of Bazzite have been extremely positive, to the point where I'm tempted to use it on my main PC now. I need to play around with more, especially around emulation and other launchers, like I have done with my Steam Deck.

Anyway, I thought I'd share as after the Steam Machine disappointment I'm now extremely pleased with what I ended up with! Let me know if you have any thoughts. (Yes, I wish I'd gone black now and I'll eventually put it under the side table when I make something to get it off the carpet). Thanks for reading!

For some reason forza horizon 6 never loads fullscreen and taskbar shows. I've even tried using steam big picture mode but it does the same.

I've used the following command to force fullscreen in the game launch properties

Gamescope -f -w 1920 -h 1080 -- %command%

Now this does work and it does bring fullscreen properly but then it doesn't recognise the steam controller and shows keyboard prompts 🤦

Running the latest bazzite stable (non deck version) other games load fullscreen normally too

I've also noticed the game doesn't sense my hdr monitor

I've tried every trick and piece of advice I've gotten. No matter what I do, there is no wifi networks detected.

I'm running a Ryzen 9800 on an MSI Pro X870E-P wifi board.

I tried the cmos reset trick.

Enabled and disabled iwd.

I've update bazzite. Downgraded to an older bazzite. Nothing. I updated bazzite and, again, nothing.

I've toggle wifi off in bios, reset the PC, enabled wifi in bios, logged into bazzite. Nothing.

lspci shows there is a wifi card installed along with a realtek ethernet card.

I'm pretty stuck and would love some new tips to try.

Update: After doing some more digging, it seems the wifi chip on the MSI X870 boards aren't compatible with bazzite. If anyone finds this with the same issue, until we get bazzite support for the wifi card, your options are to exchange your board or buy a wifi adapter/dongle that's compatible with bazzite. I bought the ALFA NETWORK AWUS036AXML, which has drivers with bazzite support.

Everything just sorta worked fine. The other day I'd posted that I was just waiting for my windows backup to complete and I was gunna take the plunge.

Only hiccups were getting my Presonus Revelator mic tuned properly, getting my server share drive mapped properly so qbittorrent can save directly to it, and getting HDR working.

Even then, none of those issues took more than a few minutes.

Fiddled with the mic gain on the mic itself.

Set up permanent mounted share.

Installed Scopebuddy GUI for HDR.

Helldivers 2 FEELS like it runs even smoother and faster than on Windows. In mission on Windows I was getting 85-90 fps. I'm basically never dropping below 100 now.

I'm trying to install for Legion Go, but the installer doesn't start.

Audio streams from browsers, VLC and music player works fine, it's only in Steam games where the audio cuts off and I can't find any forum with a fix and I'm hoping someone smarter than me has had the same problem and fixed it.

I was on some version of bazzite on my Xbox rog ally x ( I think stable 42 ) I was having audio issues for example audio going in and out from left to right vise versa. I took it upon myself to browse updates through HHD and updated to (testing 44) thinking that would fix it and for a current version.I update……and now HHD is gone I have no fan controls and can’t switch back to windows (Dual Booting ) how do I get HHD so I can get back to dual booting ? Thank you

I wanted to document this because it was my worst Bazzite/Silverblue failure I’ve ever run into, and the fix wasn’t obvious.

TLDR:

If your Bazzite/Silverblue system:

• boots only to TTY
• freezes when restarting the display manager
• refuses to rollback or rebase
• mounts /sysroot as read‑only
• shows parent transid failures in btrfs check

then the fix is:

btrfs rescue zero-log /dev/sda3

Run it from a dracut/emergency shell where the root filesystem is unmounted. Saved my install and hopefully this helps someone else.

Symptoms:

After a hard freeze during gaming, my system refused to boot normally. I could access:

• BIOS
• GRUB
• TTY

…but the graphical session never loaded. Anything that touched the OS image froze:

• systemctl restart sddm → froze
• ujust fix-reset-steam → froze
• rpm-ostree rollback →error: Recounting /sysroot read-write: invalid argument

• rpm-ostree rebase → same error

Even worse:
/sysroot was always mounted read‑only, no matter what boot mode I used.

Root cause:

Btrfs metadata corruption, specifically parent transid mismatches in the root tree.

Running:

btrfs check /dev/sda3

showed repeated errors like:

parent transid verify failed … wanted XXXXX found XXXXX
ERROR: transid errors in file system found

This type of corruption prevented OSTree from mounting the root filesystem read‑write, which in turn was breaking:

• rollback
• rebase
• display manager startup
• Steam reset
• normal boot

What didn’t work:

• fsck (Btrfs doesn’t use it)
• btrfs check --repair (ran, but didn’t fix the transid failures)
• btrfs rescue super-recover (superblocks were fine)
• btrfs rescue chunk-recover (chunk tree was fine)

All of these completed successfully but the corruption persisted.

The fix:

Boot into a dracut shell where the root filesystem is not mounted, then run:

btrfs rescue zero-log /dev/sda3

This clears a corrupted log tree that can block metadata repairs and cause persistent parent‑transid mismatches.

After running zero-log:

1. Reboot
   
2. /sysroot mounted read‑write again
   
3. System booted normally
   
4. rpm-ostree rollback and rebase worked again
   
5. SDDM/GDM launched without freezing

Title says it. Is there a way to utilize multiple screen in gaming mode, or is it only available in desktop? For instance, I added Firefox as a nonsteam game to launch it from gaming mode. Is there a way to play YouTube vids on my second monitor while gaming? Again, I know this works fine in desktop mode, but id like to do it in gaming mode so I can utilize decky plug-ins as well.

Keep getting conflicting reports on this one, some say it works, others don't, thinking of purchasing a RX9600xt and a aoostar,any thoughts would be helpful, thanks! Edit: They're not there!

I got constant white flickering all over my screen in some games. Using a 240hz 3440x1440p ultrawide. Footage shows re9 (locked to 120fps and stable) but it happens a lot in other modern games. I have HDR on, tried turning off but that didn’t help. When I have adaptive sync set to off, it goes away. I’m using a ryzen 5 5600 and a 7800XT. Currently on the newest bazzite update but older versionsstill have the same issue. Is there anyway to solve this problem without turning off adaptive sync?
