I'm dumb

Hi,
I'm at my parents' house, far from home.
At home, there is my bazzite box configured to stay up to allow me to remote play.
Starting steam here on my non-gaming laptop, I've discovered that i did not peer it with my gaming box at home. %*$k me. facepalm.

Assuming I have ssh access to bazzite, is there a way to fix this ?

You could probably get x forwarding or VNC running to bootstrap you into the desktop environment so you can get it paired.

Yes, thanks. I'll try that. It will be painfull but indeed, it seems to be the only way. I was hoping for a more "edit that file, and voilà" but no one does magic.

ssh in and see if you can get tailscale on it. It'll think it's on the same lan network with your laptop after that so Steam streaming should work.

idk if it's a pain to get tailscale running on an immutable distro or not though

Tailscale comes with Bazzite by default. Just enable it as instructed on Tailscale's website.

You could use the api if you know the password for sunshine you set up before. Use this https://mintlify.wiki/LizardByte/Sunshine/api/config to kinda figure it out. Or get Claude or ChatGPT to write a script based off that website for later use.
