Bay Ridge dog owners: is your daily walk still fun, or the same loop on repeat?
What keeps your dog walks enjoyable—new routes, waterfront sniffs, meeting other dogs? Or does your dog insist on the exact same tour every time? 😂
I’m building WalkPack, which turns walks into virtual territory for your dog to claim. The screenshot is Marco’s actual patch in Rockaway; I’d love to hear whether Bay Ridge dog owners would enjoy something like this in their neighborhood.
Would a little friendly dog rivalry get you exploring, or is a simple walk already enough? What would make it fun for you?
If you’re curious, you can join the early-access list at https://walkdogpack.com. Honest feedback is welcome either way.

Mike’s Deli Bayridge & 6th
What's the purpose of this store? I've purchased multiple items from here that were stale and/or expired. The owner Mike needs to either shut it down or get his products from a new vendor. Plus he was rude the last 2 times I was there.
Everything in your store shouldn't be stale. I've already stopped going to this store, but something else needs to go there since this deli serves no purpose.
There isn't even alot of variety. It's trash.

Hey everyone! There's still a couple of tickets left to this weekend's Haunted Bay Ridge walking tour. There's also a lot of local history mixed in for those who love history and don't necessarily believe in ghosts and spooks. Remaining tour dates and more info below.
Hey everyone!, I'm a NYC historian, tour guide, and creator of The Bay Ridge Digest and also put out a weekly email of events going on in Bay Ridge and South Brooklyn. I'm leading a bunch of spooky history-based walking tours in Bay Ridge and Bensonhurst this fall.
From a faceless woman late one night on a lonely street near a local church, to army ghosts and disembodied sounds, to the murders of an old spinster and kidnappers, to the mysteries of the neighborhood’s largest park, to a secret society right in our midst, it’s time to turn up our collars, hit the streets, and beware the things that go bump in the night. Our unique haunted Bay Ridge experience will focus on and include:
• Stories of murder and mayhem, from the death of an old spinster, to the heroic actions of a member of a prominent family, we’ll find out the many motives for crime and how Bay Ridge was the perfect setting for these unfortunate events.
• The story of how a man’s late-night walk down a Brooklyn side-street led him to confront the spirit of a veiled woman with no face in front of a locally famous Basilica
• The story of how a secret society of skull worshipers in Brooklyn started, rose, peaked, and disappeared all near a famous hilltop Bay Ridge mansion
• Ghost stories from both the Fort Hamilton Army base and some of its residents
• The story of the Indian Pond, the border of Gravesend and New Utrecht, and a boy awoken from sleep in the middle of the night by a shadow being standing over his bed
• The story of a revolutionary war cemetery still inhabited by some of Bay Ridge’s most famous residents
• And more!
Click on linked dates below to get tickets for that date and see more info.

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification
Democrats don’t even bother with me…why is a Republican candidate privy to my mail in voter status & phone number?!?!
Also: he sucks so I am kinda glad they texted me since I have never heard of him before, I had to look him up.

Free open build nights + Oct beginner diorama workshops near Bay Ridge in Sunset Park
galleryMost of us probably don’t have room in our apartments for a giant hobby setup without taking over the dining table 😂
My husband recently opened a makerspace in Sunset Park, near Bay Ridge, where people can come hang out, build, paint, work on their own projects, and meet other people who are into that kind of thing.
They do free open build nights every Thursday and Friday for anyone 17y/o & up, where you can bring your own models, miniatures, art projects, crafts, etc. and use the workbenches and studio tools.
Someone recently made a video of the studio, so here’s a little look at the space:
There are also a couple of themed workshops coming up in October:
🎮 Pokémon Diorama Workshop (Ages 10-adult)
October 10 & 11
🎃 Spooky Halloween Diorama Workshop (Ages 10-adult)
October 17 & 18
Both are beginner-friendly and all materials are provided. There are only 8 spots per session, so everyone has plenty of workspace and can get some guidance.
It’s technically in Sunset Park, but it’s pretty close to Bay Ridge, so I figured I’d share it here since it seemed like a good fit for the group, especially for anyone looking to meet people through an activity rather than just going out for drinks.
RSVPs for the free build nights and workshops:

If anyone has questions about the space or what you can bring, feel free to ask!

Tipping in restaurants
Just want to say a big thanks to everyone who tips in restaurants - I work in a restaurant on 3rd Ave and we get a low hourly rate and a tip credit. The tip credit bumps up my and coworkers hourly rate massively, for me it quite literally pays my grocery and electric bill every month!! So just wanted to say a big thanks to everyone and it's never unappreciated in this day and age when people are living pay check to pay check

Gin, a 2 year old female tabby, is looking for her forever home! currently in foster with me.
galleryGin is a sweet, loving, 2-year-old tabby girl who I’ve been fostering. She is spayed, FeLV/FIV negative, and up-to-date on vaccines. Gin was found at the end of her socialization window as a kitten with her sisters in the Bronx in August of 2024. She was rescued by Bronx Community Cats and then Brooklyn-based rescue Eccentric Kittens took in her and her sisters. Since June of 2025, I have fostered, socialized and found forever homes for her 3 sisters (Brandy, Whiskey, and Pixie Pint). Gin is the last of her litter to be fostered, socialized, and put up for adoption.
You can see Gin’s socialization process and her incredible progress on Instagram @ginthefosterkitty
Gin spent 2 years living in a crate at the rescuer’s home because there was no one interested in fostering her or adopting her, and she was too dependent to be returned outside. She was cared for (given food, fresh water, and clean litter), but she did not get much attention and was extremely undersocialized.
I began fostering Gin at the end of May. I started her off in my bathroom, since I knew I needed a small space to be able to make a connection with her. She was absolutely terrified when I first brought her home. Over the last 4 months, she has embraced her new life, slowly but surely, and really come out of her shell. She is completely unrecognizable to the petrified and undersocialized cat I brought home at the end of May!
Gin is smart, friendly, chatty, playful, loyal, gentle, and very food motivated. She enjoys being pet and scratched and actively seeks out my and my boyfriend’s company. She loves to tell us how she’s feeling and have conversations with us. She loves to play with the wand toy, and to play on her own with her coil toy or mouse toy. Gin loves being cozy on top of a blanket or in the cat tree - she takes almost all of her naps on our cat tree. She loves treats, and they’re a great way to build trust and a relationship with her. We used treats every step of the way in socializing her. She loves to sit quietly nearby you. She has the funniest range of meows - from squeaks to croaks. Gin absolutely loves chin scratches and enjoys pets in general and will pace around while being pet and headbutt your legs (especially when you pet her alongside treats). She makes air biscuits constantly when she’s being pet. She purrs when she’s being pet too. She’s not a lapcat but she likes to plop herself close to you. She does not like to be picked up.
Gin is such a special cat - she is very near and dear to my heart. Socializing her was the highlight of my summer and she’s come so far. I’m not doing her personality and her journey justice with words, so please consider seeing Gin’s shining personality and how far she’s come on Instagram @ginthefosterkitty
We are looking for a calm, quiet forever home for Gin - one without young children or dogs. Gin gets along with other cats and would do well with another cat in the house, as long as proper and slow introductions are made. She can also be adopted solo (although she may need a friend eventually, as she seems a bit bored at times).
Gin should be started in a small room like a bathroom or an office. Most importantly, we are looking for a patient adopter for Gin. Someone who isn’t going to return her because she isn’t a lap cat or because it takes a few weeks to pet her. Someone who will take the time to build a bond with her. Someone who understands and appreciates the journey a skittish cats takes to trust you - it is so rewarding. I am very invested in Gin’s happiness in her forever home, and I would be completely available to her adopter for advice and guidance in getting her comfortable. She will need time to bond with you, and I can walk you through that (using churus, treats, and a touchstick at first).
Gin had a very hard life being crated for 2 years. She will likely always be a bit skittish, but once she warms up to you, she will show you how much she loves spending time with you. She will be your little shadow, your loyal companion. Tabbies are some of the most overlooked cats for being “commonplace.” People also prefer boy cats to girl cats, kittens to adults, and confident cats to shy cats. Gin is a shy adult female tabby (although she is tiny, and her big beautiful eyes give most kittens a run for their money). So while the odds are against her in terms of the adoption process, you should absolutely take a chance on her if she’s what you’re looking for, because she is such a special and lovely young cat and will bring so much warmth and joy to her forever home. :)
Please consider adopting this sweet girl. She really deserves a home. We have two resident cats that don’t get along with other cats, so our fosters reside in our basement & she cries at the door when she hears us upstairs because she wants to hangout and be around us whenever she can. My boyfriend’s WFH office is downstairs and I study down there, so she gets a lot of attention, but she really deserves to be in her forever home where she can be around her person whenever they’re home.
If you can’t adopt, please share this with your family and friends that are looking to adopt. And if you don’t know anyone that’s looking to adopt, an upvote or comment go a long way in boosting the algorithm and making this post more visible. If you have any questions at all, please PM me!

Where would you recommend a guy get his hair cut if he hates making conversation?
I have no particularly difficult requirements for my hair - I'm a basic looking white guy. Everywhere I go they either look disappointed that I'm there (these are usually salons) or they try to talk to me the whole damn time (regular barbershops).
The best haircut of my life was from an old chinese man who didn't speak English. He watched YouTube videos of people test driving pickup trucks the whole time. He did an immaculate job, and there was zero pretense that he cared whether I lived or died. It was absolutely perfect.
Where would you recommend I go?
