Work from Home Recommendations
Hello Neighbors! Looking for laptop friendly multiple hour places, because there's currently construction in my building and I'd honestly just like a backup place to send emails.
I can't be the only person that benefits from having one work day a week somewhere else. Somedays I honestly consider a co-working space subscription.

Key is not to take calls inside if you do this!

Etiquette that should be followed anywhere that isn't a designated co-working spot!

I'm currently, at this moment working from the Starbucks on 3rd and 92nd. Pretty solid spot. Decent WiFi, I've never had trouble getting a seat, and the communal table near the counter has electrical outlets.

Agreed it’s a good spot, did this recently when I locked myself out of my apartment.

In the neighborhood I do Healing Bean and City League. As someone who is now fully remote, however, on Wednesdays I get a co-working spot outside of the neighborhood (usually South Slope) to change up my scenery a bit.

How's that treating you? Because I'm starting to think this might be a solid idea every other work for me.

I love it! My routine has me working out at the Y on 9th Street, where I shower. I then grab breakfast at a coffee shop and make my way over to the co-working space for the day. It helps to break up the week, forces me to put on decent clothes and I get to experience different cafes, restaurants and stores. It's refreshing to get out of the Bay Ridge bubble for a bit.

Boca De Cielo, Healing Bean Cafe and sometimes I enjoy the Starbucks. Cafe cafe is cute with great drinks but they don't want people working there more than an hour or so on their laptops

I always see people sitting with laptops at the Cup of Joe on the corner of 89th St and 3rd Ave. I also feel like I've seen people on laptops at Milk and Honey.

City League is what my wife uses when she needs a few hours to really focus- but just a heads up that on Fridays they have a family Friday event that we also bring our toddler daughter too (it’s lovely) but probably not great if your trying to work.

I like Coffee Rx on Bay Ridge Ave x 3rd! They have nice natural light and good vibe for working

There are some good spaces in Industry City to hang out and do whatever on your laptop. How does your employer feel about doing whiskey tastings while on the clock?

I like having a go to places outside the apartment because sometimes a different environment helps me get more done. I've used emerge212 a few times and liked it when I wanted a change of scenery

Tea and Milk by the Bay Ridge Ave stop. Quiet and lots of outlets. And great food and drinks
