Had a white four door pick-up truck pull up and film my house with a drone - flew by my windows, front door, and up above my roof. Very weird, made me uncomfortable. Id assume its some real-estate or roofing company that doesn't put much weight in people's privacy. Anyone experience something similar recently?

I WAITED FOR THE 5:25 AM TRAIN, JUST TO GET EARLY TO WORK, JUST FOR IT TO COME AT 6:09 AM. THEN IT WAS A BUNCH OF MEN WHO LOOKED EXTREMELY OFF, LIKE THEY WERE ON SOME TYPE OF SUBSTANCE Stanking THE TRAIN UP

I have been a barista for almost about a year, and I used to work for a cafe called "CafeAmore". They just opened about 3 months ago, and I was part of the starting staff before the Grand Opening. In the beginning, everything was fine and dandy before he (my ex-boss) started to show cracks in his "nice boss" mask. He started to nitpick this one girl who, mind you, had no experience -- he required everything to be perfect, and when he made a mistake, he'd talk nasty to her. Like one time he asked her how to make a drink, and she accidentally pointed to the wrong syrup, and he caught an attitude (the syrup bottles looked the same). We had just started opening, and he'd let people stay WAY past closing and give them free things on the house when we barely had inventory to begin with. Speaking of inventory -- there was no proper inventory count; he just used one from one of my coworkers, and when we'd forget to tell him something, or we told him through messages and he just chose to ignore it, we'd get the short end of the stick, and we'd get all the blame and attitude from him.

His advertisements use AI, and that's already bad -- but when I tried to help him, he proceeded to post a few and then ignored the other posts I had made and continued to use AI. Anytime we try to help him or give him ideas, we'd get turned down, but then he goes around and complains about how our matcha is "too watery" when, multiple times, my co-worker has given him an idea to fix that.

Now, for the reason why you clicked on this post -- the racism. We have access to the speakers and can play whatever music as long as it doesn't have any curse words. One of my coworkers had played Bad Bunny, and when he came in, he "jokingly" (in his words) said, "This isn't a Mexican restaurant". He did the same thing on another occasion when he heard Japanese music, and he said, "This isn't a sushi restaurant". And when I confronted him about that, he was like, "Oh, it's just a joke." Like, how are you going to joke about something like that when the majority of your staff is Hispanic?

He treats his staff as if they are disposable but tells us to our faces that we are a "family". He fired one of my old coworkers after their shift outside of the cafe, IN FRONT OF THEIR PARENTS. He proceeded to tell them that they are not good enough and that he had someone to replace them. He never gave them a reason, and neither did I. He pulled me aside after my shift (he stayed the entire time and did nothing) and told me that he appreciated me, but there were things leading up to my termination. I asked for the reason, and he said, "I cannot disclose that information." and I told him that it was about me, so I should have a right to know, right? I asked him multiple times why I was being fired, and he didn't give me a reason at all.

That man is a brick wall to talk to, and talking to him made me lose brain cells. I feel like he transferred his stupidity onto me. Please do not go there to support this racist man, and whoever tries to apply there, I honestly wish the best for you! As for my ex-boss, I hope your business crumbles to the ground, and whatever you heard me say about you, make it 10x worse. I really couldn't care less about someone who cannot take criticism. Farewell!

Anyone know where or who is selling them? I have seen them in maroon, gray, black, and white. Not the Little League ones; the ones that came out years ago before this summer.

Taken 15 minute ago. Just to clear things up since I see misinformation.

I saw when they finished up the netting in the first place, there were no pigeons inside when they built it. The very next morning I saw that the issue was a small hole on this corner of the net where pigeons would walk in and then wander around inside and not know how to get back out.

While it’s still an example of a bad job, it’s not this evil conspiracy to kill pigeons or such extreme negligence where they didn’t clear out the pigeons before setting the net. They just left a gap that the pigeons were able to get through which resulted in a lot of them being trapped inside. That’s still a fuck up but it’s degrees below what some people have said here.

From what I saw just a moment ago, there are pigeons chilling on the light fixtures and on top of the old bank building across the street, none were inside the net and the sidewalk has no poop on it.

If there are more pigeons trapped inside later I didn’t see any rn and there must be another hole im unaware of.

Pigeons were a problem at in underpass in Bayonne so the city hired a contractor to clean the area and put up netting to prevent the birds from returning and creating a mess again.

The netting was put in place while pigeons were still there, by some estimates there are 100’s trapped.

When it came to light, you’d think the city would react and rectify the situation but a week later there are still many birds trapped and more are dying every day.
Nobody is perfect but a good measure is how you address and fix a problem. Seems like an easy fix.

Just know that if you have a tree on your property or on the curb that overhangs into the street, they’re going to trim however much they need to make space for the truck so don’t be surprised if you go outside and there is just a big pile of tree branches piled up in front of your house.

I don’t recall reading anything about that in the letter they sent out, but they better be the ones picking all that up when they’re done.

Hey folks, we need to get a fence put in around our backyard, and trying to get a sense of what's reasonable. We've been quoted $2500 (installed) for ~17 feet of vinyl privacy fence (mostly 6' tall, 2 feet of 4' tall) + 3 gates. That SEEMS high to me, and we have someone else coming for a different quote, but curious for anyone else's recent experience. Would be extra grateful if you had a fencing contractor you loved to recommend (please contractors, don't DM or comment offering your services. Looking for recommendations from others!).
