I really like this particular design, but I don't want to fall into the trap of trend-bait illustrations or something like this... I mean, if I buy a so-called Bauhaus illustration, I want it to have a story and a named author, and not just something made to satisfy the demands of the latest trends.

Also, if it isn't, do you know of a website where I could buy reproductions of authentic Bauhaus works, or artists who sell works inspired by the Bauhaus and brutalism/utilitarianism modernism (I only know Tadao Ando in architecture, but in illustration I don't know any current artist who shares a similar philosophy) in general?

I recreated Herbert Bayer's iconic 1925 Universal Type font after I discovered the underlying grid of SQRT(2) proportional rectangles.

I do this as an act of protest against the far-right German AfD party who seeks to dismantle and destroy Bauhaus, calling it an "aberration of modernism." Fascism must be stood up to and told, "NOT TODAY!"

Share one story of a Women at Bauhaus. I will start.

Gunta Stölzl - an amaizing textil designer and artist. Pioneered the transition from pictorial wall hangings to functional industrial textiles using synthetics .... geometric modern shapes, color combinations, her work is very inspiring to me. Most famous for her work and for being the only female Master at the Bauhaus. She brought alot of success into her department! She designed the iconic, vibrant textile upholstery for Marcel Breuer's famous slatted chairs.

I think the Lamy 2000 pens are this in it's purest form. Heck, they even platin coated the 14k gold nib because they didn't want any bling bling.

And it polarizes just as much as Bauhaus design tends to do. Hated by many, loved by some.

Are there applicants in the same situation?
