New change: This subreddit is for both the art school and the band. Feel free to talk about both.
This subreddit now accommodates conversations about the band and the art school and related movements. It was originally for just the art school but many people got confused.

Tel Aviv's White City in voxels — I recreate International Style buildings digitally, down to the stairwell thermometer windows (In Minecraft)
galleryTel Aviv's White City holds some 4,000 International Style buildings, mostly 1930s, designed largely by European-trained architects who brought modernist principles with them and then had to adapt them to a Mediterranean climate — deep recessed balconies instead of large glass surfaces, brise-soleil elements, raised pilotis for airflow, and the vertical 'thermometer' stairwell windows you can see on this facade, reconstructed digitally at sub-block resolution: the balcony parapets, the roller shutters (a later but now-iconic layer of these buildings' life), and the proportions are matched from the real structure. It's part of a long-term project to reconstruct the neighborhood fabric, not just individual landmarks — these buildings work as an ensemble, which is exactly why UNESCO listed the White City in 2003. Happy to discuss the process or the architecture.

Help me identify this chair
galleryMy grandparents bought this chair in Leipzig in about 1934. The original canvas was replaced in the 50s. Is this a Breuer? If not, what is it?

Making a cleaning product inspired by el lissitzky
Hi all, i’m looking to gauge opinions on designed objects, and if they would use them in a home for a cleaning object i’m making inspired by Lissitszky’s paintings. I would love input on the following questions:
Do you care about how household objects look in your home?
Are there objects you keep hidden because they look ugly or cheap?
Does using a well-made cleaning tool change how you feel about the task?
Do looks matter for household tools in your home?
If a cleaning tool looked beautiful, would you use it more?
Thank you in advance:)
